UFC on ESPN+ 86 live results: Rafael Fiziev vs. Mateusz Gamrot

The UFC ends a 17-week stretch of events on Saturday as they wrap up the month of September with UFC On ESPN+ 86: Fiziev vs. Gamrot from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event is an exciting lightweight match-up between sixth-ranked Rafael Fiziev and seventh-ranked Mateusz Gamrot. Both men are coming off of strong runs to put themselves on the cusp of title contention as Fiziev has won six of his last seven fights, while Gamrot has won five of his last six fights.

The co-main event is another battle of rising contenders, this time at featherweight, as Bryce Mitchell looks to rebound from his first career loss against Dan Ige, winner of two straight. Also on the main card is a rematch between Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez in the strawweight division, plus former TUF winner Bryan Battle fights AJ Fletcher at welterweight, and a featherweight bout pitting Ricardo Ramos against Charles Jourdain.

Rendon has Vidal pushed against the fence and is landing some knees. They separate. Vidal lands a pair of right hands and shoots for a takedown against the fence. Vidal landing some leg kicks early on in the second as both are looking for openings. Rendon lands some jabs as Vidal misses a right hand. They called a timeout for a chest punch and it was a wrong call. They get back to action and Vidal lands a series of leg kicks and then a right hand. Rendon lands a right hand. They’re trading to start the third before a brief clinch. Vidal continuing with leg kicks as Rendon is starting to land more punches. Mizuki lands to start the fight. They trade before clinching and Mizuki lands some knees. Mizuki defending Goldy throwing some knees. Mizuki lands some leg kicks from the clinch position. Mizuki pushes it against the fence. Goldy lands a couple of knees as they remain clinched. They separate and Mizuki lands a left hand. Goldy lands a leg kick. Mizuki lands a body kick and Goldy counters with a right hand. Goldy lands a leg kick. Mizuki lands a body kick and they clinch back up. Mizuki lands a knee. Mizuki lands some knees then a head kick and left hand after they broke. Goldy pushes it against the fence. 10-9 Mizuki.

Mizuki lands a right hand as Goldy was coming forward. Goldy tries for a takedown but Mizuki defends and grabs the neck. They get up and are tied up. Goldy lands a right hand and Mizuki fires back with a combination. They trade in close range. Goldy pushes it against the fence as they’re tied up, but they quickly separate. They trade as Mizuki lands to the body and Goldy lands a left hand. Mizuki lands as Goldy tries for a takedown, but pushes it against the fence. Mizuki landing some knees. They separate and are trading punches. Mizuki lands to the body. They clinch and Mizuki pushes it against the fence and lands to the body. Brundage gets an immediate takedown and lands from the top. Malkoun gets up and has the single leg against the fence. Malkoun gets a takedown but Brundage reverses to the top but they stand. Malkoun gets it back down and has the back. Malkoun with some punches from the back. Malkoun with some hammerfists. Malkoun continues to land big punches. Malkoun completely dominant as he keeps landing punches. Malkoun looking for a choke but lets go and lands to the back of the head and a timeout is called. The fight is stopped as Brundage says he can’t continue.

They go to the mat with Argueta still on the back working for a choke. They scramble to their feet. Johns lands a right hand. He lands a right hook as Argueta rushed in. Johns wobbles Argueta with another right hand. They tie up against the fence. They go back to the mat with Johns on top but they quickly get up. They each land right hands. 10-9 Argueta.

They go to the mat and Ramos is in side control as Jourdain still has the neck. Jourdain lets go for a moment but grabs it back. He lets go. They scramble to their feet for a moment then Jourdain grabs the neck and locks in a guillotine choke. It is in tight and Ramos taps! Great finish from Jourdain.

They trade leg kicks. Battle lands a high kick then one to the body. Fletcher lands a right hand. Battle mixing his kicks everywhere. Fletcher pushes it against the fence. Waterson tries for another takedown against the fence. She lands a knee. Rodriguez lands a knee and then a few more as Waterson is throwing uppercuts. UFC on ESPN 39 live results: Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Rafael Fiziev

Welcome to F4WOnline.com’s live coverage of UFC On ESPN 39: Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev, emanating from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Octagon is back at the Apex this week after a crazy International Fight Week, and the show rolls on with a twelve-fight card featuring a lightweight fight between top-ten foes.

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos takes on Rafael Fiziev in a long-awaited five-round headline bout. These two were originally scheduled to headline a card in February, but visa issues pushed the fight back to UFC 272 in March. However, Fiziev had to pull out after contracting COVID-19, and Dos Anjos instead scored a win over Renato Moicano on that card. Dos Anjos has scored two straight wins, while Fiziev is riding a five-fight win streak.

The rest of the main card features some notable match-ups, as middleweights Caio Borralho and Armen Petrosyan battle, bantamweights Douglas Silva de Andrade and Said Nurmagomedov square off, heavyweights Jared Vanderaa and Chase Sherman battle to stay on the UFC roster, and it kicks off with a long-time UFC veteran Michael Johnson taking on Jamie Mullarkey in a lightweight fight.

Roberson still trying for the takedown against the fence. Nzechukwu now is the one who gets a takedown. Nzechukwu gets the back and has an arm under the chin but lets go. They continue to scramble and Nzechukwu still has his arm around the chin of Roberson. They get to their feet and Roberson with a knee but Nzechukwu gets another takedown and lands some right hands. Nzechukwu still in control on the ground but Roberson defending and staying composed. They get to their feet. Nzechukwu takes the back standing. They remain tied up to end the round. 10-9 Nzechukwu.

Roberson lands some body kicks early in the second but Nzechukwu gets it to the mat. Nzechukwu has the back and lands some punches. He lands some more punches to the head as Roberson looks gassed out. Nzechukwu gets it back down and has the back and looks to put the hooks in. Nzechukwu with big right hands to the body of Roberson. Nzechukwu lands a knee to the body. They get to their feet and Nzechukwu has the back. Nzechukwu looking for the choke again. Onama looking for the kimura standing and they go to the mat and Armfield in the guard but they get back to the feet. Onama lands a knee as they break. Armfield with a left hand. They trade in close range and Armfield connects with a left hand. They trade right hands and Onama with a left hand. Onama with a body kick. They clinch along the fence.
