UFC on ESPN+ 119 live results: Charles Oliveira vs. Mateusz Gamrot

The Octagon returns to Brazil for the first time since May 2024 as UFC On ESPN+ 119 takes place from the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro.

The main event is a five-round battle in the lightweight division as former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira takes on Mateusz Gamrot. Oliveira is looking to bounce back from a title fight loss to Ilia Topuria in June as he fights in Brazil for the first time since March 2020. Gamrot takes this fight on short notice, replacing an injured Rafael Fiziev, looking to score his second straight win.

In the co-main event, former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo looks to get back into the win column as he battles Montel Jackson, winner of six straight fights, in a bantamweight clash.

Also on the main card is a welterweight bout between Vicente Luque and Joel Alvarez; a heavyweight bout pitting Jhonata Diniz against Mario Pinto; and a pair of featherweight fights as Ricardo Ramos takes on Kaan Ofli, and Lucas Almeida squares off with Michael Aswell.

Oliveira throws some elbows from his back as Lacerda lands a few punches. Lacerda takes the back and is looking to set up a choke as he has both hooks on. Polastri lands some punches as Kowalkiewicz mixes some leg kicks and body shots early. Kowalkiewicz lands a right hand. They trade kicks and Polastri hurts Kowalkiewicz with a punch. Polastri rushes in and lands as Kowalkiewicz was backing up, but Polastri backs off. They clinch and Polastri lands some knees and an elbow before they break. Kowalkiewicz lands some kicks. They tie up and Polastri lands some knees against the fence. Polastri pressuring and mixing knees, elbows and punches before they separate. Kowalkiewicz lands a combo ending with a body kick. Mesquita landing early and gets the clinch and scores a takedown. Mesquita immediately gets the mount and starts teeing off from the top. Alekseeva trying to play defense on the bottom but Mesquita is landing elbows and more punches. Mesquita controlling from the top as she is landing, but Alekseeva is defending. Mesquita lands some hard elbows. Alekseeva’s nose is busted up. Mesquita with some big shots from the top and huge elbows, but Alekseeva is saved by the bell. 10-8 Mesquita.

They’re feeling each other out. Alekseeva lands a leg kick. Mesquita is circling around and lands some right hands. Mesquita scores a big takedown. She passes guard right away and lands some punches. Petersen working hard for the takedown as Petrino is defending. They finally separate. Petrino drops Petersen with a big right hand and starts landing from the top as Petersen is trying to scramble up. Petrino landing from the top but Petersen is able to play defense. Ramos circling around and they trade leg kicks. Ramos throws a high kick but Ofli catches it and gets a takedown. Ramos looks for a kneebar and Ofli is fighting it. Ramos still looking for it but Ofli is able to scramble out. Ofli gets the back of Ramos and is looking for a choke. They stand with Ofli on Ramos’ back. They’re hand fighting and Ofli is able to lock in a deep choke and Ramos taps! Ofli gets the submission win.

They trade leg kicks. Pinto scores a takedown. They get up almost right away, but Pinto takes it right back down and is in side control. Pinto works and gets the full mount but Diniz is able to escape. Pinto gets it back and lands a couple of elbows. Pinto moves to the half-guard as he remains on top. Pinto gets the crucifix position and is landing elbows. Pinto with more elbows as Diniz is trying to escape. Pinto looks for a kimura. Pinto goes back to the mount. Diniz rolls over but Pinto still has the arm. Pinto now with a mounted triangle but he moves back to the half-guard and lands an elbow. Pinto ends the round on top. 10-9 Pinto.

The UFC ends a 17-week stretch of events on Saturday as they wrap up the month of September with UFC On ESPN+ 86: Fiziev vs. Gamrot from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event is an exciting lightweight match-up between sixth-ranked Rafael Fiziev and seventh-ranked Mateusz Gamrot. Both men are coming off of strong runs to put themselves on the cusp of title contention as Fiziev has won six of his last seven fights, while Gamrot has won five of his last six fights.

The co-main event is another battle of rising contenders, this time at featherweight, as Bryce Mitchell looks to rebound from his first career loss against Dan Ige, winner of two straight. Also on the main card is a rematch between Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez in the strawweight division, plus former TUF winner Bryan Battle fights AJ Fletcher at welterweight, and a featherweight bout pitting Ricardo Ramos against Charles Jourdain.

The UFC closes out a busy month of June back at their home base in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with a lightweight bout featuring two prospects looking to break into the top ten of the divisional rankings.

11th-ranked Arman Tsarukyan puts his five-fight win streak on the line against 12th-ranked Mateusz Gamrot, who is on a three-fight win streak. Both are looking to break into that upper echelon of the lightweight division. Tsarukyan scored a second-round knockout of Joel Alvarez in his last fight in February, while Gamrot scored a second-round knockout of Diego Ferreira in his last fight in December.

In the co-main event, long-time veteran Neil Magny looks to become the all-time UFC welterweight wins leader as he looks for his 20th UFC win when he takes on rising contender Shavkat Rakhmonov. Also on the main card is a lightweight bout pitting Thiago Moises against Christos Giagos, a bantamweight fight between Nate Maness and Umar Nurmagomedov, and a middleweight bout that sees Chris Curtis take on Rodolfo Vieira.

Paiva lands two more big right hands and Morozov is circling around. Paiva with a combo. Morozov lands a left hook. Morozov throws a right hand and Paiva grabs the body lock but lets go. Nurmagomedov steps over to half-guard as he retains top position. Nurmagomedov gets mount and lands some right hands. Nurmagomedov with big shots from the top at the end. 10-9 Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov gets an early takedown in the second and works in the half-guard and then moves to side control. Nurmagomedov controlling from the top as he has head control. Baudot with a leg kick and they clinch but break. Baudot with the jab. Parisian tries a spin attack but Baudot drops him with a right hand and lands some shots from the top trying to finish. Baudot with a knee to the body. Baudot lands lots of punches as Parisian works his way up but he gets to his feet and Baudot is still landing big punches. They clinch against the fence. Parisian drops down and gets the takedown. Parisian with big right hands from the top and he is looking for a finish. Rakhmonov trying to get the mount but Magny uses his legs to utilize the cage in escaping though Rakhmonov is still on top by the fence. Rakhmonov with more punches from the top. He looks for the neck and the guillotine but lets go. Rakhmonov with a heavy elbow. Magny looking for the leg. Rakhmonov with more right hands from the top.
