New NWA Tag Team Champions crowned on UWN Primetime Live

New NWA Tag Team Champions were crowned on this week’s edition of UWN Primetime Live.

Aron Stevens & JR Kratos defeated James Storm & Eli Drake on Primetime Live last night to win the NWA Tag Team titles. The match was originally announced as Storm & Drake vs. Stevens & The Question Mark, but Stevens came out for the match alone. Kratos attacked Storm & Drake, then Stevens said no one could prove Kratos isn’t The Question Mark.

Stevens & Kratos got the win after Kratos low blowed Storm.

Prior to losing the titles last night, Storm & Drake had been NWA Tag Team Champions since defeating The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and The Wild Cards (Thomas Latimer & Royce Isaacs) in a triple threat match at the NWA’s Hard Times pay-per-view this January.

This is the fourth NWA title change to take place on Primetime Live since the weekly PPV series debuted this September. Trevor Murdoch defeated Stevens for the NWA National Championship in September. Last month, The Pope (Elijah Burke) defeated Zicky Dice for the NWA Television title and Serena Deeb defeated Thunder Rosa for the NWA Women’s Championship.

Deeb wins NWA Women’s title, first title defense set for AEW Dynamite

Serena Deeb won the NWA Women’s title tonight on Primetime Live, and the first title defense will be on Dynamite.

Deeb defeated Thunder Rosa to win the championship for the first time. The finish had Rosa in control with a German suplex and a knee strike, but Deeb surprised Rosa by rolling her up for the win. The two shook hands following the match.

Deeb is currently under AEW contract, with the company announcing her signing back in September. On Twitter, Tony Khan announced that the first title defense would take place on Dynamite against Leyla Hirsch.

“Congratulations to the new @nwa Women’s World Champion @SerenaDeeb!” Khan wrote on Twitter. “She’ll make her 1st title defense v. @LegitLeyla on #AEWDynamite tomorrow night, Wednesday on TNT at 8pm ET/7pm CT on a huge show with several big matches on the card! Thank you great fans who make AEW possible!”

Rosa won the championship at the NWA Hard Times iPPV event in Atlanta, Georgia in January, defeating Allysin Kay. She had held the championship for 278 days.

UWN Primetime Live is a collaboration between the NWA, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, and other promotions under the Championship Wrestling umbrella. NWA titles have been defended on the program in recent weeks. Elijah Burke defeated Zicky Dice to win the NWA Television championship on the October 20 episode.

UWN reveals Primetime Live World title tournament bracket

The United Wrestling Network has revealed the bracket for their tournament to crown a UWN World Champion.

The openweight, multi-week tournament features eight participants. Here are the first round matches:

Left side of the bracket —

The tournament will kick off with Dickinson vs. Avalon taking place on next Tuesday’s edition of UWN Primetime Live. The Primetime Live weekly pay-per-view series launched last month and is a partnership between the UWN, the NWA, and Thunder Studios.

The UWN’s David Marquez tweeted about the World title tournament: “#Primetimelive is truly the epicenter of pro wrestling. My thx to NWA AEW NJPW MLW for their cooperation! Join us next week for The Librarian Peter Avalon Vs @DirtyDickinson! BE THERE!”

This week’s edition of Primetime Live featured The Pope (Elijah Burke) defeating Zicky Dice to win the NWA Television title.

New NWA TV Champion crowned on Primetime Live

A new NWA Television Champion was crowned on this week’s edition of UWN Primetime Live.

The Pope (Elijah Burke) defeated Zicky Dice on Tuesday’s Primetime Live to win the NWA TV title. The Pope overcame a pre-match attack by Dice and was able to get the win before the 6:05 time limit expired.

The Pope is the third wrestler to hold the NWA TV title since it was reintroduced this January. Ricky Starks and Dice are the former champions.

“Shout out to @nwa President @Billy for giving Pope an opportunity to accomplish this great achievement,” The Pope wrote about his title win. “Shout out to The Congregation for always believing such a day would come. Thank You All! ~PHS #NWA #TVChampion #NWAPowerrr #Pope4TheGold”

The NWA has partnered with the United Wrestling Network for the weekly Primetime Live pay-per-view series. There’s been one other NWA title change on the series since it debuted in September, with Trevor Murdoch defeating Aron Stevens to win the NWA National Championship.

In an Instagram post last month, Billy Corgan gave an update on the status of NWA Power. Corgan wrote that they’re currently talking about bringing the weekly series back very soon, even if fans can’t be in attendance yet.
