Global Heritage Invitational finals set for next week’s WWE NXT

The finals in the NXT Global Heritage Invitational Finals are set for next week’s show.

Butch and Joe Coffey both won their block matches on Tuesday, earning them a spot in the finals. Butch defeated Tyler Bate to win Group A with 5 points.

Joe Coffey lost his match to Duke Hudson later in the show, causing a three-way tie in the Group B tournament bracket. Coffey, however, later won a three-way match between Hudson and Frazer to determine the group winner, sending him to next week’s finals.

Eddy Thorpe, after weeks of being taunted, will meet Dijak in a strap match. Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov, meanwhile, will sign their title match contract ahead of No Mercy.

Also announced for next week is Gigi Dolin taking on Blair Davenport and Trick Williams taking on Joe Gacy.

A tag team match pitting Bronco Nima and Lucien Price vs. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger is also set.

Butch announced for WWE NXT Global Heritage Invitational

NXT’s Global Heritage Invitational tournament will include at least one WWE main roster wrestler.

It was announced today that Butch will be competing in the Global Heritage Invitational. The tournament is being held to determine who will challenge Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup Championship at NXT No Mercy.

Tyler Bate, Joe Coffey, Butch, Duke Hudson, Charlie Dempsey, and Nathan Frazer are the first six participants that have been confirmed for the round-robin tournament. It will feature eight wrestlers in total, with the participants being divided into two groups.

Butch, Bate, and Dempsey are in Group A. Coffey, Hudson, and Frazer are in Group B.

Here is the full list of rules for the tournament:

  • There will be two groups with four wrestlers in each group in a round-robin style tournament.
  • Matches have a 12-minute time limit.
  • Pinfall and submission victories are worth two points. A draw will earn each wrestler one point.
  • The winner of Group A faces the winner of Group B on Tuesday, September 26 and the winner of that match will challenge Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup on Saturday, September 30 at NXT No Mercy.

The invitational tournament kicks off on NXT this Tuesday.

Butch was in action on SmackDown last night, teaming with Ridge Holland in a loss to The Street Profits. It was billed as a Terry Funk memorial hardcore tag team match.

WWE reveals rules for NXT Global Heritage Invitational

WWE has revealed the rules for NXT’s Global Heritage Invitational.

The tournament was announced on NXT last night after Noam Dar defeated Nathan Frazer to win the Heritage Cup trophy. There will be eight participants in the invitational and the winner will get their title shot against Dar at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, September 30.

On WWE’s The Bump this afternoon, it was revealed that the invitational will be a round-robin tournament. The participants will be divided into two groups, with the winner of Group A facing the winner of Group B in the finals on the Tuesday, September 26 episode of NXT.

Here is the full set of rules:

  • There will be two groups with four wrestlers in each group in a round-robin style tournament.
  • Matches have a 12-minute time limit.

The tournament begins on NXT next Tuesday. The participants are set to be announced on NXT’s social media accounts throughout the next week.

Interference by his Meta-Four stablemates helped Dar defeat Frazer on NXT last night. Dar is part of Meta-Four with Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, and Jakara Jackson.

The Heritage Cup is a championship where matches are contested under British Rounds rules. The title originated in NXT UK but was brought to NXT by Dar this April.

NXT No Mercy is being held at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. The show will stream live on Peacock/WWE Network.
