The NWA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 will defend his title against Thom Latimer on the show.
EC3 called out Latimer on Tuesday’s edition of NWA Power, saying he didn’t want to waste time showing he’s the greatest champion ever. Latimer accepted EC3’s challenge and will vacate the NWA TV Championship in order to face him for the World title.
Kamille also confronted EC3 during the segment, saying he plays politics to get the opportunities he’s had, referencing his time in Dixie Carter-era TNA Wrestling.
NWA Samhain will take place from EC3’s hometown of Cleveland on Saturday, October 28. It will air as a pay-per-view on FITE.
EC3 became the 58th wrestler to ever win the NWA World Heavyweight title when he defeated Tyrus in a Bull Rope match at NWA 75. Tyrus’ reign with the title finished after 288 days and successful title defenses against Matt Cardona, Rolando Freeman, Daga, and Chris Adonis.
EC3 defeated Tyrus in the main event on night two of NWA’s 75th Anniversary show on Sunday in a bullrope match where Tyrus would be forced to retire if he lost.
Tyrus’s NWA Worlds title reign ends at 289 days, after he defeated Trevor Murdoch & Matt Cardona in a three-way to win the title at last November’s Hard Times 3 event.
In addition to the Worlds title switch, three other titles changed hands on Sunday’s NWA 75 show.
Kenzie Paige defeated Kamille in the semi-main event to win the NWA World Women’s Championship, ending Kamille’s 813-day reign with the title.
Paige’s Pretty Empowered stablemates Kylie Page & Ela Envy defeated M95’s Madi Wrenkowski & Missa Kate earlier in the evening to capture the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship in another title change.
On the NWA 75 pre-show, Talos & Daisy Kill defeated The Country Gentlemen’s Anthony Andrews & AJ Cazana to win the NWA United States Tag Team Championship. Talos & Kill won a tournament final on night one of NWA 75 to earn the title shot on Sunday.
The NWA World Heavyweight Champion is set to defend his belt on the show against EC3, who earned the title shot by cashing in the NWA National title.
Tyrus recently announced on Instagram Live that he wants their title clash to be a Bull Rope match. In order to entice EC3 to agree to the stipulation, Tyrus said that he’ll retire if he loses.
“I’ll make you an offer you cannot refuse,” Tyrus said. “I’m so passionate, I want this Bull Rope match, I want to be the bull in the woods, if you will, prove it at the Chase, at the 75, that I’m willing to put my career on the line as well. So, if EC3 wins the 12 pounds of gold against me in a Bull Rope match, not only will he be champion, I will retire.”
There's a long history of Bull Rope matches in the @nwa and that tradition continues at #NWA75! @PlanetTyrus vs @therealec3 in a BULL ROPE MATCH for the NWA World's Heavyweight Title.
If Tyrus loses, he will retire from the sport of wrestling.

The first challenger for Tyrus’ NWA World Heavyweight Championship will be former champion, Matt Cardona.
The NWA revealed on Friday that Tyrus vs. Cardona will happen on the company’s next pay-per-view, although an official date for the show has yet to be announced.
A contract signing between the two will take place on the NWA’s first-ever live edition of Power on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, TN. Tickets for the show went on sale today.
Cardona won the title from Trevor Murdoch in February but was forced to vacate it in June after suffering a torn biceps. Murdoch regained the vacated title in a four-way match at Alwayz Ready but then lost it to Tyrus at Hard Times in a triple-threat match that also involved Cardona. Now, Cardona is claiming he was never pinned to lose the title and deserves a one-on-one match with the champion.
“Matt Cardona continues to argue that he is the uncrowned NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion — as even after Hard Times 3’s triple threat match that saw Tyrus crowned the new champion, Cardona has proclaimed: ‘My rematch is still required! I’ve never been pinned to lose the 10 lbs of Gold!!'” NWA’s press release reads.
“NWA President William Patrick Corgan wants to put the matter to rest once and for all, so at the first-ever NWA LIVE Powerrr in Knoxville, TN, the One-on-One rematch between NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus and former champion Matt Cardona at the NWA’s next Pay-Per-View will be set in stone during the official contract signing in the middle of the ring!!!”

Matt Cardona is the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Cardona pinned Trevor Murdoch at tonight’s NWA Power Trip tapings in Oak Grove, Kentucky to win the championship for the first time. Footage shows Cardona pinning Murdoch following Cardona’s leg lariat finisher.
Cardona tweeted after he had won the title: “I did it. I am the @nwa World’s Heavyweight Champion!,” posting a picture of himself with the title.
Murdoch’s run with the title ended after 167 days. He defeated Nick Aldis for the championship back at the NWA’s 73rd Anniversary show on August 29th.
The title match, which will air on NWA Power this coming Tuesday, was announced by the NWA last week. The match came after Cardona made his debut at NWA Hard Times 2 back on December 4, attacking Murdoch after he successfully defended the championship against Mike Knox.
Cardona is also a regular for Impact Wrestling, where he is the current Digital Media Champion. He also makes appearances for GCW.
His father held the title three times, and Cody will have at least one reign with the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Cody defeated Nick Aldis at All In to become the new NWA Champion. The finish was Aldis going for a sunset flip, with Cody collapsing on it and hooking Aldis’ legs to get the pin.
Part of the story for the match was Cody bleeding when Aldis hit him with an elbow when Cody was going for a springboard move to the outside. Aldis went for an elbow drop from the top rope towards the end of the match, but Brandi Rhodes covered Cody and took the brunt of the move.
Cody’s title win comes in advance of the NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show in Nashville, Tennessee on October 21. Cody is the third person to hold the NWA title in the Billy Corgan era, joining Aldis and Tim Storm. Aldis had held the championship since defeating Storm in December 2017.
The NWA title will be defended in the main event of the 70th Anniversary Show.
