SUNDAY NEWS UPDATE

Our weekend show talking Smackdown and Rampage is up on the site right now. We’ll have another show tomorrow night after Raw.

NHK, one of the major networks in Japan, ran a 90 minute special on Saturday night called “Inoki:  The Last Stand.” It was the first time the general public realized Inoki’s severe health issues and his physical decline and a lot of people were shocked, although insiders knew. It also shows that even thought Inoki’s real heyday was the 70s and he remained a major star through the 90s, that a major network would have a huge special like this on him.

The NOAH big show earlier today at Yoyogi Gym in Tokyo with Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenou match to unify the GHC title with the National title went to a 60:00 draw.  I’ve had a number of people call it a strong match of the year candidate and even the best match this year. The big announcement was that KENTA, who was NOAH’s big star for a number of years, will return to the promotion on the Budokan show. There were fans crying when the announcement was made about KENTA returning to NOAH. Go Shiozaki, who had shoulder surgery, came at the end of the show and announced his return match will be on 12/5. The full show is up for free at Wrestle Universe, which is free until the end of the year.

Stardom’s PPV was yesterday and people were raving about this as well:  Ruaka retained the Future of Stardom title over Mai Sakurai and Waka Tsukiyama, Momo Watanabe & AZM b Unagi Sayaka & Lady C, Mayu Iwatani & Hazuki & Hanan b Saki Kashima  Fugiken Death & Rina, Saya Kamitani won a three-way for the Wonder of Stardom title shot over Himeka and Natsupoi, Starlight Kid b Koguma to keep the High Speed title, Syuri b Konami to retain the SWA title and get the next World of Stardom title shot in a UWF rules match, Tam Nakano b Mina Shirakawa to keep the Wonder of Stardom title in a match people were very polarized on as many didn’t like it and others loved it, and Utami Hayashishita b Maika to keep the World of Stardom title.  This sets up Hayashishita vs. Syuri on 12/29 at Sumo Hall which is a gigantic match. Nakano vs. Kamitani is the Wonder of Stardom title match on that show.

We are doing polls this weekend on both the Stardom and NOAH shows, so you can leave a thumbs up,  thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match for each show to [email protected]

Raw at the UBS Arena tomorrow night features the return of Edge.  He’s likely to start a new program and Bobby Lashley currently has no program, so we shall see. Big E vs. Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor has been announced for the show at the UBS Arena in Long Island. It’s the first wrestling show in the building that  just opened up.

We talked about this on the show, but a lot of the recent shows that have gone on sale for both WWE and AEW have had what I’d call disappointing early sales. Perhaps some will pick up as Christmas approaches. These are usually more of an issue with AEW, since its fan base buys most of its tickets early, while WWE spends far more in local advertising the week of the show so does end up with more late sales. Right now as far as tickets distributed go, according to Wrestletix, 1/3 Raw in Greenville, SC has 2,040 tickets out, 1/17 Raw in Tulsa has 2,167, AEW’s Battle of the Belts on 1/8 in Charlotte did 2,680 on the presale and the big surprise is that was more than 2/2 in Chicago, and previously Chicago has been doing very fast sellouts. Chicago did 2,441 on the first day and 12/29 in Jacksonville did 821 on the presale.

WWE has been doing a lot of two-for-ones this week for many shows including tomorrow’s Raw at the UBS Arena in Long Island, as well as Los Angeles and Baltimore and likely many other markets.  The next PPV show, Day One on 1/1 in Atlanta, has buy three and get on ticket free sale currently going on.

The UBS Arena show has 5,264 tickets out for tomorrow, so they almost doubled since the announcement of Roman Reigns on 10/12.  A lot of people were using this to point out that Reigns isn’t a draw but tickets did start moving slowly, but ended up doing much better after the announcement. They did a lot of two-for-ones, four-for-the price of three, announced the return of Edge, and also announced Roman Reigns & Usos vs. Drew McIntyre & Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods for a dark match on the show.  But in the end they are doing about the same as a lot of the Raws of late have done if they get a decent walk up tomorrow. They won’t beat what AEW does on 12/8.  There are markets of late AEW has won and there are markets of late WWE has won in,.

We’re looking for reports from yesterday’s WWE house show in Roanoke, VA to [email protected]

The Triller Triad boxing vs. MMA show last night on PPV seemingly bombed as it didn’t even crack the top 20 trends for the day. Kubrat Pulaev, a high-level heavyweight boxer, destroyed Frank Mir in the main event of a show with a triangle ring, using MMA gloves but it was only boxing allowed.

As far as trending, with no major shows this week the only stuff that cracked the top 20 all week on the Google charts was boxing related. Tommy Fury was No. 20 on Monday with 50,000 searches and Teofimo Lopez was No. 4 yesterday with 500,000.

New Japan World has a Best of Super Juniors show at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow morning from Korakuen Hall

  • Robbie Eagles vs. Bushi

Gran Guerrero may have been eliminated early. He kicked out late when he was being pinned, and then lost his cool and went after the referee and ripped his shirt before another ref calmed him down. KENTA to take part in NOAH Budokan Hall event on January 1

KENTA is set to make his return to Pro Wrestling NOAH on January 1st.

It was announced this evening at the NOAH the BEST 2021 event that KENTA, who currently wrestles for New Japan Pro Wrestling, will be part of NOAH’s event at Budokan Hall on January 1st. It wasn’t specified who he will face.

KENTA graduated from the All Japan Pro Wrestling dojo in 2000 but quickly joined NOAH later in the year along with most of AJPW’s roster. He spent the next 14 years winning major championships in both NOAH’s junior heavyweight and heavyweight divisions, including winning the GHC Heavyweight Championship on one occasion. He left to join WWE in 2014, and upon his departure from WWE in 2019, he joined NJPW, where he has remained since.

On January 8, NOAH will take part in the third night of Wrestle Kingdom 8 at the Yokohama Arena for a show called NJPW vs. NOAH, a supercard featuring wrestlers from both companies. No matches have been announced for the show.

November 29, 2021 Observer Newsletter: Survivor Series review, NJPW vs. NOAH show announced

The 2021 Survivor Series was a show built around non-title matches that had little storyline build-up and traditional matches with no interaction between brands.

It was a paradox. The show, on 11/21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, was, from a television standpoint, one of the weakest builds to a PPV to date. Because the name Survivor Series is traditional and it’s supposed to be an A show, no doubt viewership was higher than most B shows. But aside from Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair building a match based on a legit disagreement during the belt trading angle on Smackdown and their former friendship, and a minor situation where Big E vowed revenge for Roman Reigns and the Usos feuding on Smackdown with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, there was little to build the matches.

On the flip side, there was more mainstream media done related to the show than just about any show other than WrestleMania. The main characters, Lynch, Flair, Paul Heyman, and Roman Reigns in particular, were visible all over the place promoting the show and the brand.

NJPW vs. NOAH set for Wrestle Kingdom 16 night three

NJPW vs. NOAH.

Night three of Wrestle Kingdom 16 will feature talent from both NJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH. The announcement was made in a joint press conference with the two promotions.

NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shingo Takagi and NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya, Keiji Muto and Katsuhiko Nakajima have been announced for the event on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan, at 3 a.m. Eastern time. No matches have been made official as of yet.

The card will air live on Abema pay-per-view and have an English language option for the broadcast. The cost will be 3960 Yen. The show will be made available on NJPW World and NOAH’s Wrestle Universe streaming service one week after the air date. A portion of proceeds from the event and PPV will be donated to Japanese Red Cross.

Tanahashi and company president Takami Ohbari represented NJPW at the presser, while CyberFight director Akihiro Takeda and Kiyomiya represented NOAH. Comments from the card’s other announced participants were shown via video.

The NJPW Global Twitter account quoted Ohbari:

“The match card is yet to be announced. NJPW and NOAH wrestlers have their own histories and backgrounds. It’s up to them whether they want to face off, or even join together…

This is a rare opportunity, and it would be a somewhat of a waste not to have the two companies face off across the whole card.”

The press conference can be seen below with English subtitles.

NOAH’s Katsuhiko Nakajima wins GHC Heavyweight title

Katsuhiko Nakajima has recaptured the NOAH GHC Heavyweight title.

Nakajima defeated Naomichi Marufuji this morning at NOAH’s Grand Square event to win the championship for a second time. The finish had both men striking each other inside the ring. Nakajima cut off Marufuji with a death valley driver, then connected with a spike brainbuster to win the championship.

After the bout, Nakajima cut a promo saying that winning the GHC title was not enough. Masato Tanaka came out to challenge him, saying Nakajima hasn’t beaten him up yet. Nakajima accepted the challenge, saying he will “eat him up deliciously”. He ended the promo by saying a new era has taken shape, and that he was NOAH.

Nakajima had won the N1 Victory tournament on October 3, defeating Kenoh in the finals to earn tonight’s GHC Heavyweight title match. Nakajima is the first person to win the N1 Finals back-to-back, defeating Kaito Kiomiya in the finals of last year’s tournament.

WON NEWSLETTER: October 4, 2021 Observer Newsletter: WWE Extreme Rules review, G1 Climax updates

WWE’s Extreme Rules show on 9/26 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH was decent. Most of the matches were good, but there was nothing blow away.

The show was built around two bouts, Roman Reigns vs. Demon Finn Balor for the Universal title and Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair for the women’s title. Both had gimmicked finishes.

The Demon match ended with Demon ont the top rope when the top rope suddenly collapsed and he fell into the ring injured, and got pinned by a spear. The bout had been the most exciting on the show, but at one point the idea was that Demon had died. Then his music played and he acted as though he was resurrected, and in fact, that was the verbiage used, and he made a comeback until the rope broke.

In the Smackdown women’s title match, Belair powered out of the disarmer and set up the KOD when Sasha Banks ran into attack Belair for the DQ. Banks also laid out Lynch after the match to set up a three-way program.

SUNDAY NEWS UPDATE

Bryan and I will be back tonight talking G-1, WWE draft and other news topics. I did a show last night with Gonzalez talking about all the news of the week and the business situation in the U.S.  You can send questions to the show tonight to [email protected]

Not a lot of mainstream interest in stuff this week with no major UFC or boxing events. The UFC show yesterday ranked No. 15 in Google searches at 50,000. Kevin Holland earlier today had 20,000 and ranked No. 6. On Wednesday, Manny Pacquiao cracked the list at 50,000 for his filing to run for President of the Philippines. On Tuesday, Jon Jones was No. 13 at 50,000 when more details came out on his arrest. Ronda Rousey was No 15 at 50,000 for her announcing the birth of her first child.

We’re looking for your thoughts on today’s G-1 Climax show at Dolphins Arena in Nagoya, thumbs up, down or middle, best and worst match to [email protected]. We’re also looking for reports on tonight’s WWE house show in Lexington, KY.

G-1 tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo has:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Chase Owns
  • Evil vs. Tama Tonga
  • Taichi vs. Jeff Cobb
  • Hirooki Goto vs. Yoshi-Hashi
  • Kazuchika Okada vs Sanada

The one thing from today’s show everyone is raving about, besides the Tomohiro Ishii vs. Zack Sabre and Shingo Takagi vs. Kota Ibushi matches is evidently the post-match of Ishii vs. Sabre was something to behold.

Raw tomorrow is the draft. On last night’s show, we talked about possible stuff they could be doing for Raw.  The big angle is that Paul Heyman is supposed to manipulate to get the Usos to Smackdown, and if not, Roman Reigns has ordered the Usos to leave him for dead.

In last night’s UFC main event, all three judges gave Thiago Santos rounds 2, 3 and 5 and gave Johnny Walker 1 and 4, so Santos got straight 48-47 scores.

On FOX today stations at different times are airing a WWE special building up the King of the Ring tournament.

Katsuhiko Nakajima beat Kenou to win the N-1 tournament today at Korakuen Hall. People were raving about this match.  Nakajima will challenge GHC champion Naomichi Marufuji for the title on 10/10 in Osaka.  That show also announced Kaito Kiyomiya & Kenou vs. Kazushi Sakuraba & Keiji Muto.

WWE results from San Juan, PR last night:

  • Dominik Mysterio b Jinder Mahal
  • Shotzi & Nox b Natalya & Tamina
  • Keith Lee b Drew Gulak
  • Finn Balor & Drew McIntyre & Cesaro b Roman Reigns &* Usos
  • Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo b Mace & T-Bar
  • Charlotte Flair b Rhea Ripley to keep Raw women’s tile
  • Damien Priest b Sami Zayn to keep U.S. title
  • Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio had been advertised as the main event for the Universal title.  We don’t have confirmation of why Rey Mysterio wasn’t on the show. (thanks to Ed Luis Valentin)

AEW

  • AEW for 11/10 in Indianapolis topped what they drew for the 2019 show in the city on the first day tickets were put on sale to the public, topping 4,200. (thanks to William Zdon)
  • The movie “Queenpins” which stars Paul Walter Hauser, Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell, will have AEW references. Digital Spy reported that the movie was scripted to have WWE references.  Hauser said that when he signed on, he told the people doing the movie that he was friends with Tony Khan and could probably get them a better deal on licensing and images and they agreed to it

SUNDAY NEWS UPDATE

Bryan and I will be back tonight covering the ROH PPV show as well as previewing Raw, and covering other wrestling news stories. You can end questions to the show to [email protected]

Last night’s UFC 264 appeared to be massive. There were just under 12 million Google searches, which may have been the all-time record or if not is very close to it.  Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm at just under 12 million was the largest I can recall.  A huge UFC usually does 5 million and a pretty big one, like a Jon Jones fight, may be 2.5 million.  So expect giant PPV numbers.  Besides McGregor and Dustin Poirier, those cracking the top 20 were Greg Hardy (200,000), Sean O’Malley (200,000), Steven Thompson (100,000), Jessica Eye (50,000) and Ryan Hall (50,000).  We’re looking for your thoughts on UFC 264 and tonight’s ROH Best in the World with thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle to [email protected]

ROH Best in the World starting at 7 p.m. tonight:

  • Demonic Flamita vs. Rey Horus
  • PCO & Danhausen vs.  Beer City Bruiser & Brawler Milonas
  • Shane Taylor & Moses & Kaun vs. Dalton Castle & Dak Draper & Eli Isom for the trios titles
  • Josh Woods vs. Silas Young last man standing
  • EC3 vs. Flip Gordon
  • Mark & Jay Briscoe vs. PJ Black & Brian Johnson
  • Jay Lethal vs. Brody King
  • Jonathan Gresham vs. Mike Bennett for the Pure title
  • Rhett Titus & Tracy Williams vs Chris Dickinson & Homicide for the tag titles
  • Tony Deppen vs. Dragon Lee for the TV title
  • Rush vs. Bandido for the ROH title

This is ROH’s first show with fans in attendance since the start of the pandemic.

Besides Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks winning an ESPY for Best WWE moment (what a weird category if you think of it), Tyson Fury was named Best Boxer and Khabib Nurmagomedov Best MMA Fighter in the fan-voted awards last night.

Raw tomorrow night:

  • Bobby Lashley vs.  Xavier Woods non-title
  • Sheamus vs. Humberto Carrillo U.S. title
  • Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Ash
  • A.J. Styles vs. Ivar
  • Omos vs. Erik
  • Ricochet vs. John Morrison falls count anywhere

With so-so ticket sales for the 9/10 Smackdown show in Madison Square Garden, WWE has announced Raw talent has been added to the Smackdown show that night.

Travis Fulton, the MMA/boxing Iron Man who was held in the Linn County Correctional (Iowa) Correction Institution and awaiting trial on charges of child pornography and domestic violence appeared to have hung himself at 4 a.m. earlier today. He was pronounced dead at 5 a.m. after life saving measures failed to revive him. Fulton had more than 322 MMA fights from 1996 to 2019 as well as 75 pro boxing matches. He had more fights than any MMA fighter in history and fought a number of major names in his day.

Dynamite Mike Gammon, who is generally considered by insiders as the single greatest player in the history of Roller Derby, died on 4/12 from heart failure. The news just broke in the past few days since his family members did not want it released. The local newspaper in Castro Valley did have a mention of his death in April but made no mention of his Roller Derby past. Gammon, who was 78, was Rookie of the Year at 15, MVP at 17 and was billed as “The Fastest Man on Skates” throughout his career. He was the ultimate child prodigy. His mother was Gerry Murray, who along with Joan Weston was one of the two most popular women skaters of all-time and a national celebrity in the late 40s and early 50s and one of the first female athletes to get a number of endorsement deals. His father, Paul Milane, was one of the top male skaters in the 40s and his stepfather, Gene Gammon was the top blocker for the New York Chiefs when Roller Derby was so big four games per week aired on ABC and it was the most popular programming on the station. Mike was skating at 13 months and speed skating at three, and had incredible balance. During the national TV era (1948-1951) he was 5 to 8 and would do skating races and tricks at halftime. He was great as a oand even better as a work.

Kazushi Sakuraba will challenge for the GHC title on 8/1 against Naomichi Marufuji, who retained over Takashi Sugiura earlier today.

Suwama returned to the ring earlier today in a six-man tag after being out with COVID, which forced him to vacate the Triple Crown.

Marufuji wins GHC Heavyweight title at CyberFight Festival

Naomichi Marufuji captured the GHC Heavyweight Championship at this morning’s CyberFight Festival 2021 event.

Marufuji defeated Keiji Mutoh in the main event, pinning Mutoh after a knee strike. Mutoh held the title for 114 days, defeating Go Shiozaki at NOAH’s Destination 2021 event back on February 12.

This marks Marufuji’s fourth reign as GHC Heavyweight Champion, tying Takashi Sugiura and Shiozaki for the most title reigns.

After his title win, Marufuji cut a short promo saying to keep your eyes on him, Mutoh, and the top champions in DDT (Jun Akiyama) and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (Miyu Yamashita). Both Akiyama and Yamashita then came out and cut short promos with Yamashita closing the show by saying the three champions will move forward.

The GHC Heavyweight title match was the third of three main events that took place at CyberFight Festival, a supercard featuring wrestlers from Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT, and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling that took place at the Saitama Super Arena. Akiyama retained the KO-D Openweight title, defeating HARASHIMA. Yamashita defeated Yuka Sakazaki to retain the TJPW Princess of Princess Championship.

SUNDAY NEWS UPDATE

Bryan and I will be back tonight talking AEW Double or Nothing and the rest of the current news with Wrestling Observer Radio as well as taking mailbag questions that can be sent to [email protected].

Some business notes regarding tonight and AEW. Based on one national television company, advanced PPV orders as of Friday were up nine percent from Revolution.  Keep in mind that 82 percent of orders come in the last 36 hours so that doesn’t mean they’ll end up well above their record, but it’s a very good sign.  Revolution blew away all prior AEW shows.

That same company’s clientele saw Dynamite on Friday night as down 38 percent from the 5/19 show, so that’s very significant since that’s the time slot for the proposed new Rampage show and based on the makeup of the AEW TV audience, Friday is going to be tough. The sample size is millions, so the actual numbers and they are legit views and not estimates, would be literally 100 times that of Nielsen’s sample size. But they are not strategically done like Nielsen and don’t provide the level of data that Nielsen does so we don’t have any demo info from it or viewers per home or things like that that is so important.  Smackdown was down 1.3 percent from the prior week based on the same company’s clientele, actually more total viewers but watched less time on average. The Nielsen numbers for Friday will be out on Tuesday and the detailed numbers won’t be out until Wednesday.  Smackdown numbers should be out Tuesday and Raw should be out Wednesday due to the holiday weekend.

As of 1:30 p.m. Eastern time, there were 352 tickets still out and more than 4,600 accounted for meaning they are very close to sold out. This will be the company’s largest crowd since the pandemic and the biggest crowd for North American pro wrestling aside from the two WrestleMania shows of the past year plus. We’re looking for your thoughts on the show so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to [email protected]

Here are thoughts on the show and Skybet odds. It should be noted that most of the matches have very sizable favorites and if predicted star ratings are an indication, the belief is this will be a tremendous show on paper:

  • Adam Page vs. Brian Cage – The winner is likely in line for an AEW title shot.  On paper this match looks crazy. Page’s forehead was a mess Friday night so he’ll be easy to cut. Page is right now a -500 favorite.  Kambi has posted star ratings so the over and under here is ***3/4
  • Battle Royal – AEW Battle Royals usually have more storyline elements but the concept of the original Casino Battle Royal was received negatively so it’s been tweaked.  The latest odds have Christian Cage as a -200 favorite with the next being Penta at +500, Jungle Boy at +600, Powerhouse Hobbs at +900 and Matt Hardy, 10 and Max Caster at +1400.
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Anthony Agogo – This is the most interesting because Agogo has only done short matches.  Agogo is a -175 favorite.  The winner should depend entirely on what is the next thing planned for each.  The over/under here is ***1/4
  • Hikaru Shida vs. Britt Baker for the women’s title – Most expect a title change here and the odds reflect that with Baker a -600 favorite. These two actually should have a great match.  The over/under is **** which really speaks a ton of what bettors and oddsmakers think of these two.
  • Kenny Omega vs.  Orange Cassidy vs. Pac for the AEW title.  It’s an interesting mix.  We know Omega vs. Pac an have a match of the year candidate since they did that once on Dynamite already.  Cassidy can go, but he’s mainly known for comedy spots and it’ll be interesting how that mixes in. Omega right now is a -650 favorite while Cassidy is +400 and Pac is +600.  Betters and oddsmakers are very confident putting over/under at ****1/2
  • Miro vs. Lance Archer for the TNT title. It’s a big one for both.  This is Miro’s first real back-and-forth match in a high-level spot in AEW where it’s a different style and standard from WWE.  Miro is a -600 favorite.  The over/under here is ***3/4
  • Sting & Darby Allin vs. Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page – Allin will work most of the way and he’s crazy always, let alone on PPV.  Still, the whole match is a set up for Sting’s hot tag and how much he can do at the age of 62.  Sting & Allin are -300 favorites.  The over/under here is ***3/4
  • Stadium Stampede with The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle. The pressure is huge because they have to live up to last year’s show. Jericho is working with a dislocated elbow from his fall off the cage at Blood & Guts. The Inner Circle has to disband if they lose. That stip has made them a -200 favorite. There is no odds on star ratings because this is a taped match .
  • Young Bucks vs. Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley for the tag titles. The match will likely be great, but it is a huge style clash and a very different match for all four than their usual.  The Young Bucks are -150 favorites to retain in the closest the odds are for any match on the show.  The over/under here is ****1/2
  • The Buy in match of Serena Deeb vs. Riho for the NWA title has no odds. My own prediction is a very good match if they are given time and they probably will be, and Deeb has to be a major favorite.

In gambling odds for what wins match of the night, the Omega vs. Cassidy vs. Pac match is at -111 and the tag title is +110.

Yahoo has a story on the Cody Rhodes vs. Anthony Agogo match. (thanks to Patrick Baseline)

A story on yesterday’s firing of Willie Urbina. (thanks to Barry Werner)

With no UFC or boxing major events this weekend, the only thing that made Google trends related to combat sports this past week was on Tuesday. John Cena, for his apology to China was No. 8 for the day at 200,000. Mike Tyson, because of the TV special, was No 13 at 100,000.

AEW does have big competition in sports today with the Indianapolis 500. The Miz & Titus O’Neil were both on NBC’s coverage of the event today (thanks to Brian Henke)

A&E tonight at 8  p.m. has a Mick Foley special. The only thing that I know is that Mick Foley himself seemed really happy about it.  I’m not sure if I’m on it but I was interviewed extensively for it. Jake Roberts is featured on WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures which is notable politically.

KTLA in Los Angeles had a lengthy feature today talking about Cardi B and SummerSlam and crediting the Mat Men podcast for the story.

The semifinals of the King of Gate tournament on 6/3 at Korakuen Hall have Yamato vs. Kota Minoura and SB Kento vs. Kzy.  It will be on the Dragon Gate streaming service.

The annual Mitsuharu Misawa Memorial show by Pro Wrestling NOAH takes place at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning. It’s available on FITE at 5 a.m. on PPV:

  • Haoh vs. Seiki Yoshioka
  • Kenou & Manabu Soya & Tadasuke vs. Kaito Kiyomiya & Junta Miyawaki & Kinya Okada
  • Yoshinari Ogawa & Hayata defend the GHC jr. titles against Daisuke Harada & Hajime Ohara
  • Katsuhiko Nakajima & Masa Kitamiya defend the GHC tag titles against Mohammed Yone & Shuhei Taniguchi
  • Atsushi Kotoge defends the jr. title against Yuya Susumu
  • Takashi Sugiura defends the National title against Kazushi Sakuraba
  • Keiji Muto & Masato Tanaka vs. Masakatsu Funaki & Naomichi Marufuji
