Nightmare Family’s Lee Johnson signs with AEW

Lee Johnson has officially signed with AEW.

Tony Khan announced this evening that Johnson has officially signed with the company. This comes following a match that took place tonight on AEW Dynamite, with Johnson teaming up with Cody Rhodes to take on Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi. Johnson scored the win for his team, pinning Bononi after a small package.

“In April most of the roster couldn’t travel & we needed local talent for #AEWDynamite,” Khan wrote on Twitter. ”@CodyRhodes recommended his pupil @BigShottyLee. Lee came & worked so hard. I was blown away & kept booking him. With Cody’s guidance Lee got his 1st win tonight! Congrats Lee now it’s official.”

“Good things come with time,” Johnson wrote on Twitter. “Thankyou all.”

Johnson has wrestled regularly for AEW since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March, mainly wrestling on AEW Dark, although he has had squash matches against the likes of Brian Cage and MJF on Dynamite. He is also a member of Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Family group.
