In fact, MLW.com has learned that the first women’s featherweight championship is being designed.

Who will make history and claim it? Sources indicate we’ll find out soon.

In July 2021, it was announced that Shimmer founder Dave Prazak had joined MLW and would be spearheading the start of the promotion’s women’s division. MLW previously had a short-lived women’s division launch in 2019.

The MLW women’s featherweight division was officially unveiled in September 2021, with it being announced that the division would feature The Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo), Brittany Blake, Holidead, Zoey Skye, Willow Nightingale, and Nicole Savoy.

MLW’s next show will be its Intimidation Games tapings in Dallas on Thursday, March 31. There will also be tapings for MLW Azteca Underground in Dallas on Friday, April 1.

MLW reveals first member of women’s division

MLW has officially unveiled the first member of its women’s division.

It was announced today that Zeda Zhang has signed a “multi-year exclusive contract” with MLW. She previously appeared for MLW in 2018 after being released by WWE.

Zhang wrestled for NXT and took part in the inaugural Mae Young Classic while with WWE. She lost to Shayna Baszler in the first round of the tournament.

MLW noted that their women’s division is scheduled to launch this year and that more details about the division and Zhang’s first match will be revealed soon. The division is returning after MLW initially featured women’s matches when it relaunched starting in 2017.

Before Zhang signing with the promotion was announced, MLW’s Court Bauer tweeted: “In just a few minutes @MLW will reveal the first of many to sign on and join the women’s division. Can’t wait to finally share this one with our fans.”
