UFC 321 live results: Aspinall vs. Gane, Jandiroba vs. Dern

The annual October trip for the Octagon to Abu Dhabi for a major pay-per-view event is upon us as two title fights headline UFC 321 at the Etihad Arena.

The main event sees UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall making his first title defense since being named the undisputed champion as he defends against former Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane. Aspinall had two title wins in interim titles, and has won three straight fights overall. Gane gets another chance at becoming champion on the heels of two straight wins.

The co-main event will see a new champion crowned at 115 pounds as Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern rematch for the vacant UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship. The title became vacant after Zhang Weili decided to move to 125 pounds. Dern holds a win over Jandiroba, coming in December 2020.

The rest of the main card features fights all between ranked fighters as Umar Nurmagomedov battles Mario Bautista in a bantamweight bout; Alexander Volkov squares off against Jailton Almeida in a potential title eliminator bout in the heavyweight division; and Aleksandar Rakic takes on Azamat Murzakanov in a light heavyweight tilt.

> Women’s Strawweights- Jaqueline Amorim (10-1, 4-1 UFC) vs. Mizuki Inoue (15-6, 2-1 UFC)

Amorim rushing forward and both are landing early. Amorim lands a leg kick then a body kick. Inoue lands a right hand as Amorim is throwng kicks. Inoue controlling the range. Amorim scores a takedown. They scramble up and Amorim gets the back and drags it back down. Amorim is working for a choke and has it locked in at a weird angle, and Inoue is able to get out, though Amorim gets the full mount. Inoue is able to reverse and now is inside the guard of Amorim and landing. Inoue lands some big shots that hurt Amorim to end the round. 10-9 Inoue.

They trade to start the second. Amorim lands a right hand but is circling around. Amorim shoots for a takedown but Inoue sprawls. They clinch against the fence and Inoue is landing some short shots. Inoue gets a takedown and works from the half-guard. They get to their feet, but Amorim pulls guard and Inoue is back on top landing punches and elbows. Inoue postures up and lands as she gets back inside the guard of Amorim. Amorim looks for an arm but Inoue escapes and lands. 10-9 Inoue, 20-18 Inoue.

They trade and clinch up and Amorim lands some knees, but Inoue gets it back down to the mat. Inoue lands from the top before standing and Amorim is slow to get to her feet. They trade and a headbutt opens up a cut on Inoue. Inoue lands some body shots and Amorim looks for a takedown, but Inoue defends and ties up against the fence. Inoue lands some knees. Amorim falls to the mat and looks for a leg, but Inoue backs off, and Amorim is again slow to her feet. Inoue lands and Amorim shoots for a takedown, but Inoue defends. Inoue lands from the top. Inoue takes the back and lands as they get up. They are clinched against the fence and Inoue is landing. Inoue landing lots as they end it. 10-9 Inoue, 30-27 Inoue.

Raposo lands a big right hand. They trade punches as both are generally missing on their offense. Maksum lands a leg kick. Raposo lands a solid jab. Raposo puts some strikes together but they barely land. Maksum changes levels and scores a takedown. They get to their feet and Maksum gets it down for a moment, but they stand with Maksum on the back and landing some knees. Not much is happening as Maksum is just leaning on Raposo against the fence. Maksum lands as they break. Maksum lands a leg kick. 10-9 Maksum.

They trade and Maksum lands a leg kick. Raposo lands a solid combo and then lands an overhand right. Maksum fakes a takedown. They trade inside the pocket. Raposo lands again and ends with a right hand. Maksum lands a jab to the body and Raposo throws a combo that barely lands. Maksum shoots big for a takedown but Raposo slides away easily to defend. Raposo lands a combo. Maksum scores a takedown. Maksum is keeping Raposo down but not doing anything as Raposo gets up. 10-9 Raposo, 19-19.

Raposo throws a right hand, but Maksum ducks under and gets a brief takedown. They scramble up and Maksum has the back against the fence. Maksum is dropping down and trying to get it down and briefly did as Raposo scrambles right back up. Raposo is able to force a separation. Raposo lands a combo. Raposo lands a right hand. Maksum looks for a takedown, but Raposo defends. Maksum shoots for a takedown and pushes it against the fence. Raposo is defending and Maksum drops down, and Raposo is able to escape. They trade. Raposo lands a left hook. Maksum shoots for a takedown but Rapsoo defends and grabs the neck and gets on top. Maksum grabs the fence and uses it to reverse, but the referee calls timeout to take the position away and takes a point away from Maksum. Maksum shoots for a takedown but Raposo defends, and Raposo puts it against the fence. Maksum gets a brief takedown late, but Raposo gets right up. 10-8 Raposo, 29-27 Raposo.

Abdelwahab lands a body kick and then scores a takedown. He lands from the top and Barnett gives up his back. Abdelwahab is landing lots of punches as Barnett gets up. Abdelwahab drags it back down. Abdelwahab with more right hands as Barnett gets to his feet, but Abdelwahab drags it down again. They get up and Abdelwahab gets it back down. Abdelwahab has the back and lands but Barnett scrambles up and they trade. Abdelwahab gets another takedown and has the back as Barnett is cut open around the ear. Abdelwahab with some big punches. Abdelwahab lands an elbow to the back of the head and Marc Goddard stops it and warns Abdelwahab as timeout is called. Abdelwahab has a point taken away. They get back going and Abdelwahab looks for a takedown, but Barnett defends and lands some knees. Abdelwahab lands a pair of elbows before they break. They trade clubbing right hands. Barnett lands a right hand. Abdelwahab lands some kicks and a right hand. 9-9 round due to the point deduction to Abdelwahab.

Barnett lands a right hand and they trade leg kicks with Barnett landing a few more. They trade and Abdelwahab gets a takedown and has back control. Abdelwahab with lots of punches from the back as Barnett gets to his feet. Abdelwahab grabs the body and takes it right back down. Abdelwahab with lots of shots on the ground as Barnett is just crawling around but not escaping. Both are exhausted. They get to their feet and Abdelwahab has the back before Barnett escapes with a full moon displaying. 10-9 Abdelwahab, 19-18 Abdelwahab.

Abdelwahab has the back and lands lots of punches. Barnett is trying to escape, but Abdelwahab keeps control on the mat. Abdelwahab lands but they are stood up by Goddard. Abdelwahab lands a leg kick and follows with a jab. They tie up against the fence and Abdelwahab lands a knee. Abdelwahab trips it back down to the mat. Delgado with some body shots from the top. He starts landing right hands. Wood tries to scramble out. Delgado has the back as they get to the fence and stand. Delgado lands an elbow as they break. Wood pushes it against the fence with the body lock, and he gets a brief trip takedown, but Delgado gets right back up. They separate as Wood lands a left hand and a body kick. They trade and Klein hurts Rebecki with a left hand. Klein lands a combination and Rebecki lands a counter left hand. Klein works the jab. Rebecki shoots in and Klein lands a knee, though Rebecki is still able to get the body lock. Rebecki has the leg but Klein is able to escape and they break to the center. Rebecki lands a front kick and Klein lands a left hand. Klein lands to the body as Rebecki rushed in. Klein lands a combination and then ends it with a head kick that Rebecki eats. Klein with a heavy leg kick. They trade left hands. Klein with a jab. 10-9 Klein.

They trade and Klein lands a combination. Rebecki lands a left hand. They trade big shots inside the pocket and Klein hurts Rebecki with a left hand. Rebecki quickly recovers and they both land again. Rebecki shoots for a takedown but Klein defends as Rebecki pushes it against the fence. Rebecki gets the takedown but Klein is able to get up quickly and Klein lands on the break. Klein lands a combination. Rebecki with a right hook. Rebecki is busted open badly. Klein hurts Rebecki with a right hook as Rebecki stumbles away but recovers. Klein with a nice combination ending with a head kick. They continue to trade. They trade as both land left hands and Klein defends a takedown attempt from Rebecki. Rebecki grabs the body and is able to score a takedown. Klein forces it up rather quickly though Rebecki has back control. They go back to the mat as Rebecki is landing lots of punches from the back. Klein looks a little hurt as Rebecki continues to land left hands from the top. Rebecki with a big elbow from the top and he continues to land left hands, mixing to the head and body. Klein lands an elbow from the bottom that opens Rebecki up and Rebecki is leaking blood badly. Rebecki still working and looks for the crucifix position. Klein is able to defend the position. Rebecki with heavy elbows from the top. There is blood everywhere. 10-9 Rebecki, 29-28 Klein.

They trade leg kicks and Aliskerov lands a groin strike. Timeout is called but Park is quickly ready to go. Aliskerov with a jab to the body as Park lands a leg kick. Aliskerov lands a jab and Park lands a right hand. They trade punches. Aliskerov lands a high body kick. Park lands a combination. Aliskerov works the jab. Park with a left hook to the body followed by a right hand. Aliskerov continues to work the jab. Aliskerov lands a front kick and scores a takedown. Salkilld with a right hand and he tries for a takedown but Haqparast defends. Salkilld lands a leg kick. Haqparast with a left hand. Haqparast lands a solid left hand. Salkilld then lands a head kick and Haqparast goes down out cold! What a brutal knockout by Salkilld!

Rakic shoots for a takedown and pushes it against the fence. Rakic with some knees before they separate. Rakic with a right hand and a leg kick. He lands a body kick then a leg kick before grabbing a single leg and looking to get it down. Murzakanov rolls through and they get to their feet. Murzakanov drops Rakic with a short right hand and Rakic is covering up as Murzakanov comes in and lands and it is all over! Big finish from Murzakanov to pick up the win.

Almeida shoots right away and they go to the mat as Almeida is attacking a leg. Volkov with some elbows from the bottom but is warned to watch the back of the head. Almeida is attacking for the arm-triangle choke but Volkov is defending. There really isn’t any action coming from Almeida. Volkov trying to escape from the bottom. Volkov reverses to the top and lands some short elbows. Volkov stands as Almeida is really doing nothing. Volkov lands some punches from the top. Volkov lands some more short elbows and some right hands at the end. 10-9 Volkov.

Almeida lands a right hand and immediately drops down and scores a takedown. He is inside the guard of Volkov. Almeida moves to the half-guard and is just holding and not doing anything at all. Volkov throws an elbow from the bottom. Almeida gets the back and they almost scramble up but Almeida drags it back down. They are stood up by Marc Goddard, but Almeida immediately takes it back down and lands a few shots from the top. Almeida ends the round on top. 10-9 Almeida, 19-19.

Nurmagomedov immediately gets a takedown and they get right up with Nurmagomedov on the back. He immediately gets it back down but Bautista is attacking a toe hold but Nurmagomedov is able to get out of the position. Nurmagomedov is in side control landing some left hands. They start scrambing and Nurmagomedov gets the neck. Nurmagomedov gets back inside the guard of Bautista and is smothering him. Nurmagomedov gets side control against the fence and lands a big elbow before Bautista gives up his back. Nurmagomedov has the body triangle locked on and is landing as Bautista is defending his neck. 10-9 Nurmagomedov.

Bautista lands a big knee and Nurmagomedov goes down but he quickly gets up. Bautista is pressing forward. Nurmagomedov lands a left hand and scores a takedown. Nurmagomedov is controlling but they start scrambling and Bautista is able to reverse it to the feet. Bautista lands a right hand and he shoots for a takedown and pushes it against the fence. Aspinall lands a body kick. Gane with side kicks to the legs and Aspinall lands a right hand. Gane lands a left hand. Aspinall shoots for a takedown but Gane defends. Aspinall with a head kick that Gane mostly blocks. Gane with a quick jab. Aspinall with a spin kick. Aspinall lands a right hand. Gane with a jab and Aspinall lands a body kick. They trade in close as Gane lands a jab. Aspinall with a heavy leg kick. Aspinall lands a left hand as Gane lands a kick and also pokes Aspinall in the eye, so timeout is called. He was actually poked in both eyes and Aspinall is saying he can’t see. The doctors are called in and Aspinall says he still can’t see and the fight is stopped. This is such a bad way to end it as it will be a no contest.

UFC on ESPN+ 107 live results: Mackenzie Dern vs. Amanda Ribas 2

The UFC kicks off their 2025 schedule with the Octagon inside of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for UFC on ESPN+ 107.

The main event is a five-round rematch in the women’s strawweight division as Mackenzie Dern takes on Amanda Ribas.

The two first squared off in October 2019 in a bout won by Ribas. Both remain on the cusp of title contention over five years later as Dern is looking to score her second straight win while Ribas is looking to get back into the win column.

They trade leg kicks early. Dudakova shoots for a takedown against the fence but Kline is defending. Kline lands some elbows before Dudakova breaks away from the takedown attempt. Dudakova then scores a takedown and Kline rolls for a leg. They scramble and Kline is on top as Dudakova is attacking an arm. Kline escapes and they get to their feet. They scramble back to the mat and Kline is on top and lands some punches and elbows. Dudakova back attacking an arm from the bottom, but it allows Kline to get to full mount. Kline with lots of shots from the top. Kline lands a solid elbow. 10-9 Kline.

Dudakova goes right for a takedown and has the body lock against the fence. They scramble and Kline has the leg and she scores a takedown. Kline gets to the mount after working from the top. They scramble to their feet and Dudakova has Kline pushed against the fence. They scramble to the mat and Kline ends up on top. Kline with lots of elbows from the top and Dudakova is covering up but it is stopped. Kline gets the finish to score her first UFC win and Dudakova is cut open.

The Octagon is back at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas after a couple of weeks away for tonight’s UFC on ESPN+ 81 which closes out the promotion’s month.

Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill square off in a battle of ranked strawweights in the five-round main event. It will be Dern’s third main event, but she’s still in search of her first main event win following a loss to Yan Xiaonan in October. Hill is in her second main event as she looks to extend a two-fight win streak.

In the co-main event, it’s a middleweight clash as Edmen Shahbazyan takes on Anthony Hernandez. The main card will feature a welterweight fight between Andre Fialho and Joaquin Buckley, as well as a battle of lightweight veterans when Diego Ferreira takes on Michael Johnson.

Sato gets a trip takedown but Gorimbo scrambles and takes the back and has the neck. Gorimbo looking for a choke. Gorimbo is landing punches from the back. 10-9 Gorimbo.

Sato rushes forward to start the second but Gorimbo lands a body kick. Gorimbo then drops Sato with a big right hand and gets on top and is landing lots of punches trying for the finish. Sato somehow survives and starts to work back up and they stand. Sato with a knee to the body. They clinch against the fence. Gorimbo gets the back and is trying hard to get Sato down. Sato gets a takedown. They get to their feet and Gorimbo is trying to get it back down as Sato lands some elbows. Gorimbo relentless with the pressure as they’re on the feet. Sato comes forward and lands a left hand. Gorimbo lands a body kick and they tie up. Gorimbo putting the pressure on against the fence. Gorimbo gets it down. Hernandez looks for a takedown as he pushes it to the fence. He gets it down and has the neck and is in control. They get to their feet. Shahbazyan lands the jab but eats a big elbow from Hernandez. They clinch after Shahbazyan lands a knee. He lands another. Shahbazyan goes to the mat and Hernandez lands a knee. They almost got to their feet but Hernandez keeps Shahbazyan down on the mat. Shahbazyan has the mount and looks for a guillotine but switches and now has a better position but Shahbazyan is able to escape. Hernandez lands an elbow from the top. He lands some more from side control. Hernandez gets back into the full guard of Shahbazyan. Hernandez lands some more big elbows. Big round for Hernandez. 10-9 Hernandez, 19-19.

Hernandez gets Shahbazyan down to the mat early on and is landing elbows. Shahbazyan is cut open from those elbows and Hernandez is pouring it on and it is stopped. Big finish from Hernandez to get the win.

They rush right to the center and Hill lands before they clinch. Dern lands to the head and body in the clinch. Dern with some knees. They break and are trading in the center and Dern lands a big right hand. Dern then gets a big throw takedown but Hill reverses and they scramble back to the feet. Hill lands a jab but then Dern knocks Hill down with a right hand. Dern gets into side control. Dern with heavy pressure from the top. Dern ends up getting to her feet but is pressuring Hill standing. Dern goes down and looks for a leg. Dern steps to the mount and is landing a lot of punches and big elbows from the top. Dern now looks for the arm. She’s trying to pull for the armbar but Hill defends until the end. 10-8 Dern.

Dern landing some big punches to start the second but Hill did land a couple of jabs. Dern is chasing Hill around the Octagon. Dern lands a right hand and Hill is able to take the back standing. Dern spins and they are tied up against the fence and both land knees. They break. Both throwing wild punches but mostly missing before they tie up. They both work in the clinch before breaking and Hill lands some big punches and lands a knee as they clinch. 10-9 Hill, 19-18 Dern.

Hill lands a big knee and Dern stumbles to her back. Dern looking to throw her legs up for a triangle choke as Hill went into her guard. They get to their feet and Dern lands a knee that wobbles Hill and they go back to the mat. They get to their feet and Dern has the body and pushes it against the fence. Dern gets it to the mat and steps over into the mount. Hill trying to use the fence to escape. Dern staying on top and lands some left hands. Dern with some big punches from the top. Dern now has the back of Hill. Dern with elbows and punches from the top. Dern with big shots from the top. Dern going for the armbar. Dern with big punches and Hill survives. 10-8 Dern, 29-26 Dern.

Dern comes out swinging before they clinch against the fence. Hill lands a knee. Hill lands a right hand as they break. They trade in close range and Dern lands a big elbow. Dern lands a leg kick and pushes it against the fence. They’re trading knees but not a ton of action going on. Dern lands on the break then lands a combo. Hill lands and uppercut. Hill grabs the back on the feet and Dern rolls them to the mat. Dern spins and ends up on top inside of Hill’s guard. 10-9 Dern, 39-35 Dern.

Dern gets Hill down right away and is working inside the guard of Hill. Dern moves to side control and is looking to isolate an arm. Dern gets into side control and lands some elbows. Dern now looking for an arm and the kimura. Dern now landing a lot of punches from the back and then gets the mount. She is landing big punches and elbows and looking for the late finish. Dern lets up and goes back looking for the arm. Dern now lands some more punches and Hill survives the fight. Outstanding showing from Dern. 10-9 Dern, 49-44 Dern.

Monday Update

Bryan and I will be back tonight with Wrestling Observer Radio. Among the topic we’ll talk about is more on Backlash, as well as Raw, Wembley Stadium and more big matches from the weekend.

Raw is tonight in Jacksonville, FL. They’ve announced Trish Stratus plus two three-way matches in the world title tournament. There are two three-way matches with Damien Priest vs. Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cody Rhodes vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz. The winners will meet likely in the main event. Brock Lesnar is in Jacksonville as well. Don’t know but I could see the idea of him costing Rhodes a shot at the title based on it being a late call for him to be there. There were 8,100 tickets out for the show as of this morning.

The sports competition tonight is New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat NBA playoffs against the first two hours and Warriors vs. Lakers against hour three. The tournament being tonight and the finals likely in hour three would be an attempt to avert what otherwise could be one of the biggest third hour drops in history. The only NHL playoff game tonight is Edmonton vs. Las Vegas, which will hurt Raw in Canada in particular. But if tonight’s rating or Wednesday’s AEW ratings are low, it is the competition. WWE also may start high coming off a successful PPV show on Saturday.

On Twitter today we asked people who had seen all the big PPV events of the year what was the best one. First night of Mania, Evolution, Wrestle Kingdom and even Saturday’s show got mentions, but the 4/27 Stardom show got far more mentions than anything else. Considering how high quality WWE, AEW and NJPW big shows have been this year, that’s saying a lot. 

The UFC Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill fight that was supposed to take place this coming Saturday on ABC television in an afternoon time slot, was moved back a week to main event the 5/20 show. The 5/20 show was to have Raquel Pennington vs. Irene Aldana as the main event, but Aldana was pulled from that show to headline the 6/10 PPV show challenging Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight title. Julianna Pena, who was to face Nunes, had to pull out due to rib injuries. One would think Nunes vs. Aldana on top could be among the lowest PPV numbers in years.

New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament starts on Friday. This is the most intense tournament for talent as everyone has nine hard singles matches in a 13 day period. Almost every matchup looks good to great on paper.

Mike Tenay noted that a sports story to watch which is just starting to happen is that several Western teams are pulling out of their deals with the dying RSN’s and trying to get television deals for all games with their local market regular television over the air stations. The idea is that with RSN’s dying and people cutting back on signing up for cable, that the teams will get more viewers and more local exposure on traditional television. The move to streaming that everyone predicted hasn’t materialized because all the money from streaming hasn’t been there like they expected with so many streaming platforms so deep in the red to begin with. Since television sports migration and news has to do with the most important pro wrestling and MMA stories as far as the money end goes, this is something to watch out for.

Food for thought. What kind of meltdowns will we see if the Wembley show draws 80,710 or more fans?

Paul Craig, a UFC fighter who just lost in January to Johnny “I’m not Wrestling II” Walker, will make his pro wrestling over this coming weekend for ICW in Glasgow, Scotland. Craig teams with Chris Bungard of Bellator to challenge KOE for the ICW tag team titles. 

Mark Long of MTV’s The Challenge did a match on 5/7 beating Matt Cardona for Boca Raton Championship Wrestling and Scott Yager’s Challenge Mania podcast. Several members of the Challenge cast including Cara Maria, Sorbello, Paulie Calafiore, Tina Bridges, Jonna Mannion and Rachel Robinson were not only at the show but also interfered in the match. Derrick Kosinski of the show stopped Cardona from using a chair and kicked him low. Kosinski was in a Battle Royal earlier in the show.

A correction from yesterday, the Eve tag title change we reported didn’t happen. They did a Dusty finish where there was an apparent title change but the match was restarted and the champions retained the titles.

After a week off, the UFC kicks off a busy month of October with the first of four events to take place during the month, this one headlined by a strawweight bout that could have title shot ramifications on the line.

Fifth-ranked Mackenzie Dern takes on sixth-ranked Yan Xiaonan in a five-round headline bout in the strawweight division. Dern will be looking to notch her second straight win after scoring a decision over Tecia Torres in April, while Yan will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping a decision to Marina Rodriguez in March. Both women are a combined 13-4 during their UFC careers.

Also on the main card is a welterweight bout between Randy Brown and Francisco Trinaldo, a bantamweight bout pitting Raoni Barcelos against Trevin Jones, a featherweight contest that sees 12th-ranked Sodiq Yusuff welcoming Don Shainis to the UFC, and an exciting lightweight fight between Mike Davis and Viacheslav Borshchev.

Cannetti with a body kick right away. Cannetti with a couple of inside leg kicks. Costa lands a kick but Cannetti kicks his legs from under him. Costa slips and Cannetti jumps on the back and locks in a rear-naked choke and Costa taps! What a finish out of nowhere from Cannetti.

> 140-pound Women’s Catchweights- Julija Stoliarenko (10-6-1, 1-4 UFC) vs. Chelsea Chandler (4-1, 0-0 UFC)

Stoliarenko gets a takedown right away and moves to the mount and is looking for the arm. Chandler got away and ends up in the guard of Stoliarenko. They get to their feet and exchange punches with Chandler landing a right hook. They trade and Stoliarenko gets a takedown but Chandler reverses and is in the mount. They get to their feet. Chandler lands a left hand. Chandler with a combo. Chandler with a left hand. Stoliarenko tries a takedown but Chandler gets to the mount and is landing punches. Big punches from Chandler and it is stopped. Impressive debut from Chandler.

Allen with a big kick and Jotko gets the takedown. Allen goes for an armlock but Jotko escapes to the half-guard. Jotko working to improve position from the top but not a ton of action happening. Allen reverses and is in the full guard of Jotko. They get up for a moment and Allen gets a takedown and almost had the mount but is in half-guard looking to move to side control. Allen looking for either an arm-triangle choke or the mount. Allen gets the back and has a rear-naked choke locked in and Jotko taps! Big win for Allen!

Ronson with a body kick. Silva with a hard body kick. Ronson with a jab. There isn’t much action happening. Silva lands a right hand. They trade jabs. Ronson with an inside leg kick. Ronson with a flurry. Ronson lands a body kick. Silva with a body shot. Silva lands a heavy right hand. Silva with some hard shots and lands a flying knee late that puts Ronson to the mat but time runs out. 10-9 Silva.

Ronson coming out pressing forward and landing to start the second. Ronson with a leg kick. Silva with a right hand and he tries a step-in knee but Ronson grabs it though he lets go. Silva with a jab then a left hand. Silva with a jumping knee and a right hand. Silva then drops Ronson with a knee and starts landing from the top until he gets the finish. Oleinik lands some punches and leg kicks early. Latifi gets a takedown and is in the guard of Oleinik. Latifi with body shots from the top. Latifi still on top but there is not a whole lot of action happening. They’re basically holding each other. Latifi does land some punches. Latifi ends the round on top and it sure was an eventful round. 10-9 Latifi.

Both looking for openings in the first minute as nothing happens. Latifi lands a left hand. Latifi with a right hand. Oleinik with a leg kick and lands a combo. They trade in close range. Oleinik with a leg kick and they clinch. They quickly break. Oleinik with the jab then a right hand. Latifi shoots for a takedown but Oleinik sprawls away. Latifi gets a takedown. They trade and Castaneda gets a takedown and scrambles to the half-guard. They get to their feet. Santos with a body kick then a combo. Castaneda with a big high kick that rocks Santos. Davis lands some punches but they end up separating. Borshchev lands some body punches and Davis easily takes him down. Davis gets to the mount. Davis with an elbow from the top. Dern tries a takedown but Yan defends. They trade inside the pocket before clinching. Dern tries a throw but Yan ends up taking Dern’s back and the gets on top and is landing punches. It’s the second of five events in the month of October for the UFC, with a card that starts early in their home of Las Vegas, but an afternoon show for those on all US coasts, with a strawweight main event that has potential title shot implications on the line in the main event.

Fourth-ranked Mackenzie Dern looks to score her fifth straight win when she takes on sixth-ranked Marina Rodriguez, winner of two straight, in the five-round headline bout. It is the first main event for Dern, and the second for Rodriguez, and a win could put either right into the talk of who is next in line for a title shot in the 115-pound division. Dern is coming in off a submission win over Nina Nunes in April, while Rodriguez comes into this fight off a decision over Michelle Waterson in May.

Also on the main card is a welterweight bout that could provide fireworks as Randy Brown battles Jared Gooden, a flyweight bout between veterans Tim Elliott and Matheus Nicolau, and a battle of bantamweights as Chris Gutierrez takes on Felipe Colares.

Ontiveros is trying to use the cage to find an armbar but Garcia gets into his full guard. They get to their feet and Garcia gets it back down. Garcia with some nasty elbows and Ontiveros is a bloody mess. Garcia lands a big left hand from the top. Nice comeback in the round for Garcia. 10-9 Garcia.

Garcia is landing some good shots as he’s coming forward. Ontiveros lands some shots that put Garcia on the mat again but Garcia ends up getting him down. Garcia gets the mount and is landing some big shots from the top and Ontiveros is a bloody mess. Garcia with big shots and it is over. Garcia with the huge finish!

Godinez lands a right hand and then a combo. They were both throwing and Godinez landed and got a takedown. They quickly scramble and Godinez has the back as Juarez has wrist control. They get to their feet and Godinez still has the back. She trips it back to the mat. Godinez is trying to get both hooks in from the back. Godinez with some knees to the legs. Godinez gets it back down and traps the arm. They get up and break. Godinez with a push kick then a combo. Godinez gets another takedown. Godinez has the back and is working for a choke as Juarez fights the hands. Godinez then gets an armbar locked in and Juarez taps. Nice finish by Godinez in a dominant performance.

They get to their feet and separate. Romanov with a high kick. Vanderaa with an uppercut and Romanov with a counter combo and they trade at the end. 10-9 Romanov.
