Dave Meltzer talks Jimmy Jacobs and Neville on Live Audio Wrestling

During this week’s Wrestling Observer Extra segment on Live Audio Wrestling, Dave Meltzer discussed Jimmy Jacobs being let go by WWE, Neville wanting out of the company, and more news from the last week in pro wrestling. Here’s a list of topics that were brought up:

– Jacobs being let go by WWE and the photo he took with the Bullet Club during their “invasion” of Raw, how WWE reacted to the skit, whether there was anything else that contributed to his firing, and Jacobs showing up at ROH’s Global Wars: Chicago iPPV on Sunday night.

Capping off a weekend without any major pro wrestling or MMA shows, Dave Meltzer made his usual Sunday night appearance on Live Audio Wrestling to talk all of the news from the last week.

Before breaking down the show on Wrestling Observer Radio last night, Dave Meltzer joined Jason Agnew and Dan Lovranski for his regular segment on Live Audio Wrestling to discuss WWE’s No Mercy pay-per-view.

Here’s a rundown of the topics that were brought up:

– Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman being a letdown, Dave’s feelings on why the match was structured the way it was, Lesnar winning with one F5, if Strowman was hurt by the match and what WWE will do to rehab him, Lesnar not being scheduled for TLC, and whether Finn Balor will be the next challenger for the Universal title.

– Roman Reigns beating John Cena, if Cena is taking time off from WWE, if the match helped Reigns, and whether Cena endorsing him will work.

AUDIO: Dave Meltzer reflects on the life of Bobby Heenan on Live Audio Wrestling

In addition to the stories shared on last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer joined Live Audio Wrestling on Sunday night to reflect on the passing of one of pro wrestling’s most iconic personalities.

Meltzer, Jason Agnew, and Dan Lovranski paid tribute to Bobby Heenan and discussed what made Heenan the greatest wrestling manager of all time, Heenan’s time in WCW and pairing with Nick Bockwinkel in the AWA, his work inside of the ring, and how funny he was outside of it.

The passing of Otto Wanz was also discussed, including how Wanz’s Catch Wrestling Association taught wrestlers how to be a great worker.

Meltzer, Agnew, and Lovranski then wrapped things up by breaking down the Vince McMahon-Kevin Owens angle from Tuesday’s SmackDown, giving their final thoughts on the Mae Young Classic, and talking about what’s next for Shayna Baszler.

A big day of television for WWE on Tuesday, the current situation with Global Force Wrestling, and UFC 215 were among the topics during Dave Meltzer’s regular Wrestling Observer Extra segment on Live Audio Wrestling last night.

Here’s a rundown of what Dave discussed with Jason Agnew and Dan Lovranski:

– The Mae Young Classic finals, who Dave thinks will win, the possible continuation of the Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen angle with Ronda Rousey involved, and the standouts from the tournament.
