WWE SmackDown live results: Mahal vs. Styles for the WWE title

Date: November 7, 2017
Location: Manchester Arena in England

The Big Takeaway —

AJ Styles beat Jinder Mahal to become WWE Champion. Styles will face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. The title change received a monster pop from the Manchester crowd and Tom Phillips said it was the first ever WWE Title change outside of North America. It was also the first WWE Title change on Smackdown since 2003.

Becky Lynch beat James Ellsworth in a singles match, and there were two very strange finishes elsewhere on the show.

Show Recap —

They showed a video package hyping tonight’s title match, with AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal cutting pre-taped promos. This was good. The announcers plugged Becky Lynch vs. James Ellsworth, calling it “A battle of the sexes,” as well as the two title matches.

Shane McMahon came out to start the show to a big reaction from the Manchester crowd. He said Raw will never be able to call SmackDown the B show, and this time it’s personal. He held Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle responsible for what happened to Daniel Bryan and claimed they sent Kane after him.

Shane said he could get revenge on Raw himself because he’ll be in the ring at Survivor Series. The crowd chanted “Yes” for Bryan and Shane let them know he would return next week. Shane then called out the guys who did something phenomenal last night, and the crowd chanted “New Day rocks” before he actually introduced them.

Kofi Kingston laughed about Raw doing nothing. He admitted they had no intentions of costing Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins the titles, but those were the consequences of Raw being under siege. Shane loved what they did and led a New Day rocks chant and swiveled his hips along with them.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens interrupted (to Owens’ music). Owens said Shane’s dance was the stupidest thing he’s ever seen. The crowd chanted “Ole” and “Kevin Owens.” Zayn mocked Shane’s dancing, so New Day mocked Zayn’s dancing.

Owens said Shane had daddy issues and Zayn said they could’ve taken out Raw by themselves. Zayn called he and Owens, “men of honour” and claimed they were being set up to fail. They complained about needing to even have qualifying matches to represent SmackDown but Shane noted that they both failed.

Owens asked if they would get favouritism if they danced with him like the New Day puppets. Kingston mocked Zayn for looking like a paperboy and someone who has never been to the gym. Zayn said he would be happy when Raw beats SmackDown, so Shane put him in a match with Kingston.

Kofi Kingston (w/Big E & Xavier Woods) defeated Sami Zayn (w/Kevin Owens) (9:49)

Excluding the Royal Rumble, this is the first time these two have opposed each other in a match on TV. Kingston took most of the match until Zayn hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall.

Kingston came back with a flying crossbody for the pinfall win, which was a surprise. Owens immediately jumped in the ring to break up the cover, but was too late. I don’t know if they botched the finish or not, but it sure came off that way.

Backstage, Jinder Mahal told Renee Young that AJ Styles was just an appetizer, and at Survivor Series, he would feast on the beast.

Bludgeon Brothers promo. “This world is a horrible place. We’re here to make it worse. No cage can contain us. No asylum can understand us. And when we’re done, humanity will swell over. Harper. Rowan. Bludgeon Brothers.” [Slam the ground with hammers.]

Randy Orton defeated Rusev (w/Aiden English) (7:00)

Aiden English introduced Rusev with a new song:

The lion of Bulgaria, who beat the viper before
And tonight he shall defeat Randy Orton once more
He’ll join Team Smackdown, so Raw beware
And at Survivor Series, all will declare
It’s Rusev Day

The crowd chanted “Rusev Day” and there were dueling chants of “Let’s go Rusev” and “RKO.” They cut to a shot of Bobby Roode (in his robe), Shane McMahon and Shinsuke Nakamura just standing around watching the match together.

Orton won with an RKO, so Rusev failed to join Team SmackDown.

James Ellsworth was outside the women’s locker room and asked Tamina to find Carmella for him. He got Becky Lynch instead. Ellsworth said this women’s revolution was getting out of hand and she didn’t have a chance against him. He said the ring was no place for the softer sex and he just lets Carmella compete because it makes her happy. He also noted they were in Manchester, not Womanchester. Lynch told him those were some ballsy statements from someone who didn’t have any.

Becky Lynch defeated James Ellsworth (w/Carmella) (5:54)

Ellsworth came out to Carmella’s music. Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Tamina and Lana are at ringside. This is the top-of-the-hour segment. The crowd chanted “Becky’s gonna kill you” and “Where’s your chin.”

Ellsworth took off his shirt and he appears to be in worse shape than when he started in WWE, but Dave Meltzer will have to confirm. Lynch gave him an airplane spin and he fell to the outside. He was surrounded by the women outside the ring (excluding Carmella) so climbed back in. He turned around and saw Lynch, so he shoved her down hard and pushed her outside.

Lynch came back with a flying dropkick for a two count. Ellsworth followed with a schoolboy for two. Ellsworth tuned up the band for No Chin Music, but Lynch caught him, hit an atomic drop and Exploder.

Ellsworth fell to the outside and wanted to leave, but Charlotte pushed him back in. He pleaded with Lynch and kissed her hand, so she grabbed him and applied the Disarmer for the win.

Afterwards, Carmella got in the ring and helped Ellsworth to his feet. She stared down Lynch, but then gave Ellsworth a superkick. The crowd chanted “Yes.”

Backstage, Shane met with Charlotte and Natalya. Natalya offered to take Charlotte’s place on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, in addition to taking on Alexa Bliss. Shane recalled that Natalya barely escaped Hell in a Cell with her title, so he made a title match between the two next week, and the winner would face Bliss. Natalya was upset and asked how many chances Charlotte would get.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin defeated The Usos via countout

Before the match, the Usos cut a promo calling Gable & Benjamin, “American Alpha 2.0” and said they were the next victims for the Uso Penitentiary. The Usos attacked them before the bell and they went to commercial.

The match was short. Gable gave an Uso an awkward-looking chop block on the outside, then crawled under the ring to hide. The announcers recalled the Usos taking out Gable a year ago with a similar move. Benjamin just stood in the ring and watched as the Usos were counted out.

This was so bizarre. Gable reappeared and mocked the Usos while Benjamin had no strong reaction one way or the other.

They plugged the TV show Damnation and mentioned Luke Harper would be on a future episode. They showed clips of him on set and he fits right in on whatever show this is.

AJ Styles told Renee Young that Mahal shouldn’t take him lightly and he needs to focus on the task at hand. Styles said he’s often undersized, but he works harder, shows up earlier and leaves later than everyone else. He stole a line from Mahal and said he would feast on the beast and beat Brock Lesnar.

Baron Corbin will defend the US Title against Sin Cara next week. Winner faces The Miz at Survivor Series.

AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal (w/The Singh Brothers) to become WWE Champion (16:42)

Corey Graves said the WWE title last changed hands on SmackDown in 2003 when Brock Lesnar beat Kurt Angle. The crowd chanted “You’re on steroids” so Mahal flexed in front of Styles (but didn’t look at the crowd). Styles tried a sunset flip but Mahal just grabbed him and tossed him over the top rope.

After a break, Styles fought out of a headlock and hit dropkick and forearm. He went for a slingshot dive but Mahal grabbed his leg and dropped him face-first on the apron. Mahal then tossed Styles onto the announce table to gain control.

Styles came back with strikes, sliding forearm and fireman’s carry neckbreaker for two. Styles applied a Calf Crusher but Mahal got a rope break. Styles tried more strikes but Mahal countered with a big clothesline.

Styles dropped Mahal to the outside then hit a slingshot forearm to the outside. Styles followed with a 450 splash in the ring but the Singhs pulled Mahal out of the ring. Styles attacked them both and laid them out.

Styles went for the Phenomenal forearm but Mahal grabbed him and nailed the Khallas. He seemed to have it won but Styles got his foot on the rope. Big “Yes” chants. Mahal seemed like he wanted to try a Khallas off the top, but Styles countered with a stunner over the ropes.

Styles climbed back on the apron and nailed the Phenomenal forearm for the win. Styles is the new champion. Giant pop from the crowd.

Tom Phillips said this was the first time the WWE title changed hands outside of North America. Mahal shoved down the Singh brothers as Styles celebrated.

Styles vs. Lesnar at Survivor Series.

John Cena to referee Lesnar vs. Mahal at WWE Survivor Series

The special guest referee for the Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion match at this month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view appears to be set.

Our Dave Meltzer notes that the decision has been made for John Cena to referee the non-title match between Brock Lesnar and Jinder Mahal at the PPV. Meltzer previously reported in the October 30th edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Cena had been talked about as an option to referee Lesnar vs. Mahal, with The Rock and Steve Austin also being considered if they were open to doing it and if their schedules allowed it.

Cena hasn’t been on WWE television since losing to Roman Reigns at Raw’s No Mercy show in September. That Cena is a “free agent” in storyline would seem likely to play into him refereeing the match.

Before Survivor Series takes place on November 19th, Mahal will defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles on next Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown in Manchester, England.

Jimmy Uso hit a superkick on English to retain. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods wrestled for New Day in the match.

This was definitely the match of the night and much better than their previous matches on television. Roode hit the Glorious DDT to win.

– Breezango & The Ascension defeated The Colons & The Bludgeon Brothers

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were wearing their old gear instead of the new look they had in Dublin. Fandango got the pin on Primo after hitting a Falcon Arrow.

– WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne defeated Wolfgang to retain his title

Dunne retained with The Bitter End.

– Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens

Nakamura won with the Kinshasa, but this match was very disappointing.

– Charlotte Flair, Naomi & Becky Lynch defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya, Carmella, Tamina & Lana

Charlotte submitted Natalya with the Figure Eight.

Before the match, Zayn cut a promo trashing the city of Aberdeen. Corbin pinned Sin Cara after hitting the End of Days.

– AJ Styles defeated WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in a non-title match to retain his title

This was a surprisingly good match, with Styles winning clean. The Singh Brothers got on the mic and called out Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar before this started and Mahal cut his usual promo.

WWE Dublin, IRL, live results: Styles vs. Mahal; Bludgeon Brothers debut

Submitted by reader Ian Byrne

SmackDown’s first show on WWE’s European tour took place in Dublin last night. It was headlined by AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal in a non-title match, plus Luke Harper & Erick Rowan wrestled for the first time since being repackaged as the Bludgeon Brothers and Becky Lynch and Jordan Devlin returned to their home country.

– SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defeated Rusev & Aiden English and The New Day to retain their titles

Big E and Xavier Woods were the two New Day members in the match. The crowd was massively behind them but were more than willing to cheer The Usos as well, who played face here.

Rusev and English got the heat on Woods for most of the match. They knocked Big E off the apron at one point, forcing Woods to tag in an Uso. Jimmy and Jey superkicked everyone before pinning English with a top rope splash.

– Bobby Roode defeated Dolph Ziggler

To mock Roode’s entrance, Ziggler came out to silence. Roode got a huge response from the crowd.

During the match, Ziggler got the heat on Roode after throwing him to the outside. Ziggler got a near fall after hitting the Zig-Zag, but he spent too much time setting up for the superkick and allowed Roode to hit the Glorious DDT for the win.

– Jordan Devlin & Tucker defeated Tyler Bate & Trent Seven

They started off with a lot of technical wrestling as Tucker and Bate went hold for hold. Tucker was cut off from making the tag to Devlin, who’s from Ireland and someone the crowd sees as a hometown hero.

Devlin eventually got the hot tag and ran wild, using a uranage and moonsault combination. He pinned Seven after connecting with a top rope moonsault. The crowd started off cold but were really into it by the end.

After the match, the Bludgeon Brothers came out and attacked Devlin and Tucker to huge heat.

– The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) defeated The Shining Stars, Breezango, and The Ascension

Breezango and The Ascension came down to make the save, but Konnor and Viktor turned on Breezango. The Shining Stars then saved them from a beatdown.

The match was slow paced, with Rowan and The Ascension working over Breezango for most of it. Tyler Breeze tagged in Fandango, who got the advantage for a while, but the Bludgeon Brothers won after pinning one of the Shining Stars with a double chokeslam.

– Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens

The chants were pretty even here, but Owens probably had the slight edge. Nakamura’s reactions were nothing compared to when he came with NXT before. Owens got a mic at one point, heckling the crowd and telling them not to tell him what to do after a “Fight Owens Fight” chant broke out. Nakamura won after hitting the Kinshasa.

– Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair & Naomi defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya, Carmella, Tamina & Lana

With her returning home to Ireland, Lynch was the most over person on the show so far. Naomi started with Lana after teasing the tag to Lynch, but she was cut off before she could make it.

The story of the match was that the crowd wanted Lynch in, but the faces were cut off every time they tried to make the tag. Charlotte eventually got the hot tag to Lynch, which the crowd went nuts for. She ran wild and made Lana tap out to get the victory.

– United States Champion Baron Corbin defeated Sin Cara and Sami Zayn to retain his title

Zayn cut a promo before this started, saying that he was going to see the sights but realized he was in Dublin so he took a nap instead. Corbin and Zayn worked over Sin Cara, with Zayn being the cowardly heel who wanted to get on Corbin’s good side.

He eventually went too far and was attacked by Corbin. That gave Sin Cara the chance to take control until Corbin and Zayn took their turns on offense. Sin Cara hit a swanton on Zayn, but he stood up into the End of Days for the finish. This was a good, fun match that the crowd was really into.

– AJ Styles defeated WWE Champion Jinder Mahal (w/ the Singh Brothers) in a non-title match

Mahal cut a promo prior to the match. He said he would beat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series and prove he’s the true champion.

Styles worked over Mahal for a while before he was attacked by the Singh Brothers while the referee was distracted. Whenever Styles tried to make a comeback, the Singhs would get involved. Styles was finally able to get the better of them and pinned Mahal after the Phenomenal Forearm.

Post-match, Styles got on the mic and said he would beat Mahal for the title on SmackDown next week and then beat Lesnar.

– A return date was announced for May 11th, 2018.

Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles WWE title match set for SmackDown

Additional notes added by Dave Meltzer

Jinder Mahal’s title will be on the line when WWE comes to the Manchester Arena for next week’s episode of SmackDown.

WWE announced today that AJ Styles would be challenging for Mahal’s WWE Championship on the show. In a storyline update, Shane McMahon revealed the news on his Twitter account: “Due to @JinderMahal vicious attack on @AJStylesOrg, he will defend the #WWEChampionship against AJ this Tues. in Manchester, UK on #SDLive.”

As part of his program with Mahal, Styles has defeated both Singh Brothers over the last two weeks. Mahal laid out Styles following Styles’ match with Samir Singh on Tuesday.

Mahal vs. Styles was always the planned direction, likely for the final pay-per-view of the year on December 17th in Boston. Their program has already started as the main event on the
SmackDown brand house shows.

Styles had been scheduled to face Rusev in a Survivor Series qualifying match to determine the final member of SmackDown’s men’s division team next week, but whether that will still happen at some point isn’t clear. The Usos defending their tag titles against Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable is also set for SmackDown in Manchester.

Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar and The Usos vs. Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose in non-title champion vs. champion matches are currently scheduled for Survivor Series in Houston on November 19th.

WWE Raw live results: Fallout from TLC

The Big Takeaway —

The Survivor Series build got off to a strong start which the closest thing the WWE can do to an invasion angle in this day and age. In the main event segment, Angle came out to announce the Raw team. Instead, Shane McMahon brought an entire crew of SmackDown Live wrestlers  (sans Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and a few others) out of the crowd and they laid waste to most of the Raw roster. The SmackDown crew went to the locker room and beat up several wrestlers, including Finn Balor, who has had better nights. Brock Lesnar accepted the challenge of Jinder Mahal at Survivor Series. Earlier, Angle announced Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. The Usos, and the Miz would face Baron Corbin.

Show Recap —

Angle came out smiling though selling the beating from last night. He said it has been a whirlwind of a past week. Crowd chanted “You still got it.” Angle said every story has a beginning, a middle and an end, and last night he wrote a new chapter. When he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he didn’t think it could get any better. Then he competed last night and said it was incredible. Next up, it’s Survivor Series. Angle said it would be Raw vs. SmackDown. Alexa Bliss would face Natalya. The Miz will take on Baron Corbin. The Raw Tag Team Champions Rollins and Dean Ambrose will go against The Usos. And he announced Lesnar vs. Mahal (who Angle called MAY-HALL). Angle said this year’s Survivor Series would have two elimination matches: a men’s match and a women’s match.

The Miz came out with Curtis Axel and the Bar. Miz said he was sick of hearing Angle’s voice and said this was his show. Miz was mad about Angle stepping in for Roman Reigns and said Angle just wanted to have one last run in the spotlight. Miz said Angle doesn’t deserve to be in the ring as a Superstar or a General Manager and said Angle should resign immediately. Angle said that wasn’t happening and he wanted to go to his office. Miz told Angle he wasn’t going anywhere. The heels surrounded the ring just like the Shield, which naturally brought out Ambrose and Rollins from the crowd. No Reigns. That forced the Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro and Axel to back off.

Miz said Ambrose and Rollins were sucking up to management and sold off. Miz said the odds weren’t in their favor. Angle arranged Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus to face Rollins, Ambrose and a star who decided to stay an extra night that competed last night. A.J. Styles came out.

A.J. Styles, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated The Bar and the Miz (19:45)

Styles pinned Cesaro with the Phenomenal Forearm. Just before the finish, Cesaro tried to clothesline Ambrose and Rollins, who ducked under two attempts and then hit topes onto Sheamus and Miz. Very good match. Crowd was really hot for Styles. The first segment ended with Styles, Rollins and Ambrose doing a triple pescado onto the heels. Ambrose made a hot tag to Rollins, who gave the Miz a Falcon Arrow, leading to Cesaro making the save. Sheamus kicked Rollins from behind and Miz hit Yujiro Takahashi’s Pimp Juice (or Shiek Abdul Bashir’s WMD, for those who enjoy obscure TNA references) for a two count. Styles got the final hot tag and got the Ushigoroshi on Miz. Ambrose brawled into the crowd with Sheamus.

Postmatch, Kane came out and took out Rollins, Styles and Ambrose by himself. Kane choke slammed Rollins as Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus got back in the ring to go after Ambrose and Styles.

After a commercial, Kane was in the ring. They showed still photos of Kane’s attack on Braun Strowman, including his disposal of Strowman into the trash compactor. Kane said through hellfire and brimstone, he heard the stories about how Strowman wanted competition. How Strowman tossed Big Show through a steel cage and how he broke Reigns time and time again. Kane said he liked the stories about Strowman, but he had to see it for himself. What he saw was a pile of trash, 375 pounds of nasty refuge. So last night, Kane put Strowman where he belongs, in the back of a garbage truck. Kane said when he put Strowman in the truck, he saw fear in Strowman’s eyes, which no man was able to do before. When Strowman looked at him, he saw the truth. Kane said he will always be Raw’s only monster. Kane said Braun is gone, and now he wants competition, or else. Balor came out.

Kane defeated Finn Balor (7:06)

Kane pinned Balor after three choke slams. Balor hit the Woo dropkick and was going to the Coupe de Grace, but Kane grabbed him by the throat off the top rope, leading the 50-year-old to the victory. Balor got too little offense as they’re building Kane to a program with Strowman.

Shane McMahon showed up to talk with Angle. They traded nice jabs about each other returning to the ring. Shane sold nothing from jumping off the cage at Hell in a Cell. They traded friendly barbs about how their brand would beat the other at Survivor Series. Shane finally said he would make sure Raw would go down. Angle didn’t seem offended and wished Shane luck.

Asuka defeated Emma via tapout (5:13)

Asuka got the win with the Asuka lock. Emma controlled the majority of the way. Asuka got a good response, but it wasn’t a blow away reaction that matched the quality of the vignettes. Asuka used a flying hip attack and her five-strike combination before the finish.

Bliss came down after her victory over Mickie James, who she called a future Hall of Famer and leader of the old folks home. Now, she’s ready to put James in the past and she’s focused on Natalya at Survivor Series. She said she’s going to remind Natalya that there’s only one goddess. Bliss said she felt underappreciated after her performance at TLC, but Styles and Balor can stare at each other for ten minutes and the crowd would chant “This is awesome.” She wanted to know where was her chant? Was it because she doesn’t have a 3-year-old son at home like James? Bliss said everyone is jealous of her. Bliss said since they’re in the midwest, she’s going to have to spell everything out for them. Bliss said she was going to say a chant and the crowd would yell it back like the sheep they are. Bliss said the chant was “You deserve it.” Crowd booed. Bliss wondered if she was going slow enough. She demanded the fans chant it because she’s the goddess.

James walked out, punched Bliss and gave her a Mick-DT on the Raw Women’s Championship belt and told Bliss she does deserve it.

Bayley and Sasha Banks met with Angle backstage. Angle said the Raw women’s team at Survivor Series needs a captain and said those two were the best bet. Alicia Fox jumped in and screamed she would be the best choice. Angle ordered a triple-threat match with Banks vs. Bayley vs. Fox and the winner is the team captain. Angle reminded Fox that she saw her match with Banks last night and told her that pinfalls and submissions only count inside of the ring. Fox said Angle was so silly.

Elias was out and made a crack about how Green Bay’s will was weaker than Aaron Rodgers collarbone. That got heat. Elias tried to sing a song that derided Green Bay, but someone kept messing with his wireless microphone. Jason Jordan came out.

Jason Jordan defeated Elias by DQ (3:19)

Jordan got more of a positive reception in this match than in previous cities. He was carrying Elias around and ramming him into the barricade until Elias hit him with his guitar for the DQ. Jordan has a bruise on his left tricep.

Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to respond to Mahal. Heyman said it was funny when the fans react to the manner in which he introduces Lesnar. There is someone who has a problem who disputes Lesnar is Universal Champion, someone who has barely escaped the challenges of Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, and wishes to barely avoid the challenge of Styles. Meanwhile, Lesnar remains the undisputed Universal Champion despite facing the most stacked heavyweight class of challengers in WWE history. Heyman said it’s also undisputed that we live in the age of trash talk and everyone wants to brand their opponents losers instead of box office attractions. Heyman said the king of the trash talkers is the man with the microphone in his hands right now, but he doesn’t trash talk Lesnar’s opponents because any man who steps in the ring to fight Lesnar must be a real man. He didn’t trash talk Goldberg, Samoa Joe, Strowman, and rightfully so. But Mahal? Heyman called Mahal the make believe Modern Day Maharaja with the Singh-along brothers, who copies his shtick of introducing Mahal? Heyman said Mahal wasn’t Lesnar’s equal, he wasn’t his contemporary, he wasn’t even a worthy pretender of the throne of being WWE champion.

When he thinks of WWE Champions, we think of Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, HHH, John Cena and Lesnar. We don’t think of Mahal, a consolation prize champion offered to SmackDown Live when Shane and Daniel Bryan realized they got the shaft in the Superstar Shakeup. Heyman said Lesnar wasn’t carrying the flag for Raw in the battle for brand supremacy because there is no battle for brand supremacy. The brand that bags Brock Lesnar is the flagship brand, and that is undisputed. And because Mahal disputes that, he’s going to Suplex City. But Heyman has even worse news for Mahal because the last time a SmackDown superstar stepped into the ring against Lesnar, they had to stop the match, everyone was in shock, even the Raw locker room. Because that night, Lesnar violated every single rule and boundary in the PG era. Heyman said Mahal’s challenge was accepted. His challenge was accepted number one champion in the WWE, by the reigning, defending, undisputed champion, Brock Lesnar.

Kalisto did an interview with Charly Caruso and said he would invoke his rematch for the cruiserweight championship against Enzo Amore on 205 Live. Tonight, he said it was all about family. Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann and Gran Metalik walked in. They’re teaming with Kailsto in a 10-man tag tonight.

Alicia Fox pinned Bayley to win a three-way match that also included Sasha Banks to become the captain of the Raw Women’s Team at Survivor Series (11:16)

Fox pinned Bayley after Banks had Fox in the Bank Statement, but Bayley broke it up. Then Fox threw Bayley into Banks, who hit the floor. The commentary highlight of the night came when Banks had Fox in the Bank Statement. Banks said Fox can’t break the hold by getting the ropes because there’s no-DQ in a Triple Threat match. The very next sentence was from Booker T, who said “Fox has to get to the ropes to break the hold.” Fox is back doing her crazy routine spots from 2014, where she grabbed the ring bell from the timekeeper and started ringing it, saying she was tired of playing this game. Banks and Bayley took turns dropkicking Fox out of the ring in the early minutes.

Enzo, Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, Noam Dar and Tony Nese came out. Gulak did the microphone work and said that Enzo suffered a vocal cord injury and he couldn’t talk, so Gulak read Enzo’s introduction in the uncoolest way possible.

Kalisto, Rich Swann, Gran Metalik, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali defeated Ariya Daivari, Enzo Amore, Tony Nese, Noam Dar and Tony Nese (9:03)

Kalisto pinned Enzo with Salina del Sol. Enzo didn’t want to tag in, but Daivari was kicked into the corner by Kalisto, which was a tag. Swann and Alexander teamed for a stereo tope on Dar and Nese. Swann overshot his target. Then Gran Metalik did an moonsault off the top rope to the floor on Daivari.

Angle came out to announce the Raw team for the Survivor Series. Before he could, Shane McMahon came out through the crowd and he was joined by practically the entire SmackDown Live roster. The New Day, Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Nakamura, Becky Lynch, Chad Gable, Natalya, Charlotte, Bobby Roode, Zack Ryder, Tye Dillinger, Styles, Tamina, Rusev, Mojo Rawley, and Carmella surrounded the ring. Shane got in the ring and told Angle “Under siege.” Angle left the ring and looked in shock going to the back. Shane told all of the SmackDown wrestlers to go after them.

The SmackDown roster went backstage and found Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neil. Xavier Woods approached them like they were old friends, then Styles jumped them and the entire crew went crazy beating them down. Rusev finished the assault with a flying kick on O’Neil. Corbin found a stagehand and assaulted him. Roode and Woods threw down an HDTV monitor. Lynch, Tamina, and Carmella chased away the make-up crew. Then Goldust, Axel and Curt Hawkins tried to stop them, but they were quickly disposed of. They continued the march into the locker room, where Styles, Big E. and Kofi Kingston jumped Jordan. Matt Hardy and Balor tried to stop them coming out of the bathroom, but Ziggler, Nakamura, Rusev and the rest left them laying.

The SmackDown crew continued its charge into another locker room where Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were  jumped. Nakamura speared Gallows, Elias was also left laying. They left that room where Fox, Bayley, James and Banks stood in their way. They led to a brawl with Carmella, Tamina, Lynch and Natalya, who quickly left the Raw team laying. Shane watched this unfold in the ring. As the SmackDown crew looked to continue their assault elsewhere, Rollins jumped off a stack of cases, and Ambrose joined in but they were outnumbered. Just hours after teaming with Ambrose, Styles threw him into a wall. Then Corbin and Rusev brought out Angle from hiding and showed him an unconscious Rollins.

Rusev and Corbin led Angle back in front of the main crowd. Shane motioned for them to bring Angle to the ring. Angle looked furious at Shane. Shane said “At Survivor Series, I want you to bring your gold medal, what’s left of your Raw roster, and we’re going to finish what we started. Oh it’s true, it’s damn true.” For what passes as an invasion angle nowadays, this was really good.

WWE Santiago, Chile, live results: Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton

Submitted by reader Miguel Traslavi

– The place was packed and very loud for last night’s show. To note, the Raw roster came last year and it was just as full last night. The card changed a few times and it wasn’t known if AJ Styles would still be wrestling here, so it was fun not to know the matches for sure until they happened.

– The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) & AJ Styles defeated The Usos & Rusev

The New Day came out first and then Styles did, with the crowd exploding when Styles entered. Rusev was wearing an Usos shirt. The crowd was chanting for him and he acknowledged it.

The match was short but good. The Usos worked on Woods in the corner, there were a couple of hot tags, the crowd chanted for Lana when Rusev was in, and Styles hit Rusev with the Phenomenal Forearm for the win while New Day fought with The Usos on the outside.

– Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English

English came down while singing, with the crowd booing the hell out of him. Dillinger got an okay reaction for his entrance. English played the coward heel all the way and there were “NXT” chants. Dillinger got the pin on English, but it seemed like English kicked out at two. After the match, English took a mic and challenged anyone in the back to fight him.

– Sin Cara defeated Aiden English

Sin Cara got an okay pop and beat English in a few seconds.

– Naomi & Becky Lynch defeated Tamina & Carmella

Naomi got a good pop, but Lynch got an even bigger one. Carmella was cheered a bit, which I thought was kind of weird. There were Ellsworth chants, and she acknowledged them by screaming that he wasn’t there.

Naomi was worked on for most of the match, then Lynch got the hot tag and made Carmella tap out to the Dis-arm-her. Someone from the crowd gave Lynch a Chilean flag with her name on it.

– Bobby Roode defeated Sami Zayn

Everyone in the arena was singing Roode’s theme song. He looked surprised and pleased, with everyone singing it even after the music ended. They sang Zayn’s theme as well.

The match was slow at first. It’s weird to see Zayn playing the heel. There were dueling chants for them and the match had lots of false finishes, with it being the match of the night for me. Even though it was long, there wasn’t a low moment and there were “this is awesome” and “fight forever” chants.

Zayn hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a really close near fall and tried a Helluva Kick, but Roode evaded him. Roode then used the Glorious DDT for the win. Everyone again sang his theme after.

– During intermission, it was announced that Triple H is on his way to be here on Sunday. The whole arena booed when they announced that it would be on Sunday.

– SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya defeated Charlotte Flair to retain her title

Charlotte got a huge pop, but it wasn’t as loud as the one Lynch got. Natalya received way more boos than she gets on TV. The match was alright and not as long. Charlotte did a moonsault from the top rope into the ring and connected. The finish was botched with Natalya trying to put her feet on the bottom ropes for the pin, but she wasn’t able to and got the pin anyway.

– United States Champion Baron Corbin defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to retain his title

Nakamura entered to a huge pop and everyone sang his theme music. Corbin received lots of boos. He got out of the ring to taunt some fans with his US title since they had a Nakamura sign.

Nakamura wasn’t quite as over as I thought he would be after that. He hit a Kinshasa at one point, with Corbin getting out of the ring after it and eventually retaining with the End of Days. After Corbin left, they played Nakamura’s music and someone gave him a flag.

– WWE Champion Jinder Mahal (w/ The Singh Brothers) defeated Randy Orton in a last man standing match to retain his title

The Singh Brothers came down first and were booed heavily. Mahal received mostly boos but got some cheers. Orton got a crazy pop and the biggest reaction of the night.

They had a pretty standard match until kendo sticks, chairs, and a table got involved. The weapons being used got a huge reaction. The match was a bit better than the ones they had on PPV, though that may be because the crowd was more into it.

Orton threw Mahal from the top rope to break a table, then one of the Singhs did a low blow on Orton while the referee wasn’t looking. The other Singh helped Mahal get up before the 10 count as he retained his title. Orton made a comeback after, taking out both Singhs and hitting Mahal with an RKO for a huge pop to close the show.

October 23, 2017 Wrestling Observer Newsletter: Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal, Observer Hall of Fame candidates, more

Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal in a non-title battle of champions will headline the Survivor Series on 11/19.

The idea of a Raw champion vs. Smackdown champion match for Survivor Series was actually floated for a long time. On paper, it sounds like a big deal, except titles mean less in most cases than ever before, although right now the Universal title does feel like it means something and the WWE title feels like it means nothing. So the basic rule is the champion makes the belt. I don’t want to say the belt doesn’t make the champion, because Mahal is a far bigger star with it than without it so it does mean something. But it doesn’t feel like a real top level championship.

It’s the idea that the Smackdown title doesn’t feel like it means much after weak Mahal programs with Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura, that is part of the reason the excitement level doesn’t seem like much.

Brock Lesnar to respond to Jinder Mahal’s Survivor Series challenge

After Jinder Mahal challenged him to a match at Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar will respond to Mahal on next Monday’s episode of Raw.

Mahal appeared on SmackDown tonight as WWE started the build to their Survivor Series match. The storyline was that Mahal said he was greeted as a hero while doing media in India, but one boy asked him what’s next and why he doesn’t get the same treatment in America despite defeating all of his challengers. Mahal said he must beat the most dominant force in WWE, then issued the challenge to Lesnar.

AJ Styles interrupted Mahal from there, noting that Mahal hasn’t beaten him. Styles attacked Mahal and stood tall to end the segment. After the break, Mahal asked Daniel Bryan what he was going to do about Styles and volunteered Sunil Singh for a match against Styles next Tuesday.

The announcement was later made that Lesnar would be appearing on Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin next week to respond to Mahal’s challenge.

Dave Meltzer reported last week that Mahal vs. Lesnar was planned for the main event of next month’s dual-branded Survivor Series PPV. Neither Mahal’s WWE Championship nor Lesnar’s Universal title will be on the line in the match.

WWE SmackDown live results: Jinder Mahal makes an announcement

Date: October 17, 2017
Location: KeyArena in Seattle, WA

The Big Takeaway —

Jinder Mahal did, in fact, challenge Brock Lesnar to a match at Survivor Series. Lesnar will be on Raw to respond. Mahal’s segment was interrupted by AJ Styles who challenged Mahal to a title match. Mahal declined and Styles attacked him. Styles will face Sunil Singh next week.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn beat Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag match. Zayn picked up the pinfall over Orton after a low-blow and Helluva Kick. Their celebration was halted momentarily by Daniel Bryan who informed them that Shane McMahon would return next week. Zayn played a great heel and received good heat from the crowd for being a prick to Bryan in his hometown.

Show Recap —

Michael Cole was on commentary with Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Cole said Tom Phillips is out for a couple of weeks “on assignment.”

Daniel Bryan came out to huge Yes chants here in Seattle. The crowd loudly chanted for Bryan and, as usual, he seemed amused. He said it was great to be back and the crowd chanted “welcome home.”

Bryan announced a 6-woman tag match between Natalya, Tamina and Lana against Naomi, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. The crowd loudly booed the heels and cheered the faces. Bryan said Jinder Mahal would have an announcement and Dolph Ziggler would face Bobby Roode.

Bryan called out Sami Zayn, who disappointed him at Hell in a Cell. Bryan said he wanted Zayn on SmackDown from the beginning, but before he could continue his story, Zayn interrupted and gleefully waltzed to the ring.

Bryan asked how Zayn could smile and dance and wondered if this was the same guy he’s known for 13 years. Zayn said he was still the same guy and still a great guy. He took ownership back of his career and asked if that made him a bad guy, so the crowd chanted “Yes.”

Zayn said they were both gifted performers, then corrected himself to say that he “still” was. He acknowledged that the company didn’t really believe in either of them, but Bryan had the fans’ support. The fans put Bryan in the main event of WrestleMania, but they didn’t uphold their end of the agreement for Zayn.

No matter how hard Zayn worked, they didn’t cheer for him like they did for Bryan. Zayn said he doesn’t care anymore and informed the crowd he didn’t care what they think. Zayn told Bryan if he worked smarter instead of working harder, he could still be wrestling. The crowd chanted “Sami sucks.”

Zayn called Bryan a once-in-a-lifetime performer, the best of their generation, and he spent his whole career trying to catch up. Now, Bryan was the last person he wanted to be like because after all that, Bryan ended up a housewife.

Bryan was pissed and balled up his fist (which was subtle) but Kevin Owens interrupted. Owens agreed with Zayn that Bryan was a pathetic martyr and a housewife, calling him Mr. Bella, and also a hypocrite.

Bryan said Owens only cares about himself, and never cared about Zayn. Bryan always did what was best for the fans, which wasn’t always best for Owens. Owens said Bryan is doing what’s “best for business” and called him “the authority.”

Zayn realized Owens was right and called Bryan a sellout. Zayn thanked Owens and they hugged. Bryan shook his head and left the ring. Owens mocked him again, so Bryan told them he was finding two guys to punch them in the face. This was good. Zayn was awesome.

6-Woman Tag Match: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi defeated Women’s champion Natalya, Tamina & Lana (8:42)

Naomi made a hot tag to Charlotte who hit “chops,” a knee drop and big boot to Lana. She went for the Figure Eight but Natalya tossed her into the turnbuckle. Lynch gave Natalya an Exploder, Tamina superkicked Lynch, and Naomi hit Tamina with a crossbody. With the ring clear, Charlotte put Lana in the Figure Eight for the submission victory.

After the match, Natalya yanked Charlotte out of the ring and was about to attack her with a steel chair, but Charlotte booted her down and chased her with the chair until Natalya ran away through the crowd.

Backstage, Bryan told Owens and Zayn that literally everyone in the locker room wants to punch them in the face, but their opponents would be Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura. Bryan did one of Nakamura’s poses and Owens was not amused.

Pulp Fashion featuring Fandango, Tyler Breeze and The Ascension

The Ascension were sitting at a table, presumably being interrogated, but Viktor noted how awkward it was given that Fandango hasn’t said anything in a couple of hours. Fandango told them to be cool like the Fonz. Konnor mentioned that they jumped the shark, which made himself and Viktor cackle.

Breeze came in and took a bite of a cheeseburger, or as they call it in Paris, a Royale-Rumble with cheese. The Ascension wondered how they couldn’t have figured the 2B case out by now and were about to say it’s obviously the Bludgeon Brothers, but before they could quite get it out, Breeze collapsed to the floor.

Fandango said Breeze was allergic to pickles, so the Ascension gave Fandango a giant syringe to pump adrenaline into Breeze like Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. Fandango was about to do it but Breeze popped up and said he wasn’t allergic to anything, the bun was terrible. Viktor told him it was gluten-free. Breeze realized their briefcase was stolen. The Ascension were happy because this meant this could continue but Breezango just walked away.

Non-title match: Sin Cara defeated U.S. Champion Baron Corbin via count-out (1:20)

Sin Cara hit a big dive off the top of the ring post to Corbin outside the ring. Corbin couldn’t make it back in the ring so Sin Cara won by count-out. This was a really dumb follow-up to Corbin beating AJ Styles clean last week.

Backstage, The Uso told Renee Young that they feel like it’s their birthday, like it’s Christmas morning. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin jumped in to inform the Usos’ they’d be tag champions real soon. They acted like they wanted to fight right now, but they were just toying with the Usos and offered a handshake.

Usos laughed it off and were about to shake their hands, but Gable and Benjamin pulled their hands back and left. The Usos had every reason to beat these two up right here, but they didn’t.

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan did another promo, this time from the woods. They said some stuff and smashed the ground with their toy Thor hammers. They made it clear the team name really is the Bludgeon Brothers.

Jinder Mahal’s announcement

They showed some clips of Mahal doing a promotional tour in Mumbai and New Delhi. Mahal said he was the first Indian world champion and was greeted like a hero when he returned home. Mahal told a story from India about a boy who said he didn’t receive the same admiration in America as he did in India, despite beating all worthy contenders multiple times.

The crowd chanted “you can’t wrestle,” so Mahal paused his promo, held up his title and reminded them who the champion was. Mahal said he must beat the man who the fans see as unbeatable and challenged Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Cold asked, “Are you kidding me?” Indeed. Mahal said everyone will have to kiss his feet and called himself the greatest WWE Champion of all time.

AJ Styles interrupted. Styles appeared nonplussed and wondered if he heard Mahal correctly. The crowd loudly chanted for Styles. Mahal repeated that he was challenging Lesnar but Styles didn’t care about that. Styles told Mahal he hasn’t beaten everyone on SmackDown because he hasn’t beaten him. Mahal said he’s beaten every worthy contender and called Styles a loser.

Styles said Mahal must not have a problem defending his title against him. Mahal told Styles he belonged at the back of the line and called him delusional. Mahal undid a button on his shirt and got in Styles’ face, so Styles attacked him and chased away the Singhs. Mahal bailed.

After a break, Mahal and the Singhs approached Bryan in his office and demanded to know what he was going to do about Styles. Bryan asked Mahal what he was going to do about Styles. Mahal said Styles would have to face Sunil Singh next week. Sunil was briefly caught off guard but agreed to the match. Bryan thought this sounded phenomenal.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Bobby Roode (3:54)

Ziggler won with a schoolboy holding the tights.

During the match, Ziggler took a slingshot bump into the ring post and Cole recalled what happened to Cesaro “on Monday Night Raw a couple of months ago.” Except, it was less than a month ago, and it was at No Mercy.

Brock Lesnar was announced for Raw on Monday in Green Bay and he will respond to Mahal’s challenge.

Aiden English sang as he walked around backstage but stopped when he noticed two guys on their phone who paid him no attention. English asked if they would be on their phones for opening night of Don Giovanni. He asked what their music taste was when New Day busted in. Xavier Woods was playing the trombone and they all danced, minus English.

New Day called English the Gershwin of grumpy, the Mendelssohn of moody and the Cardi B of cantankerous. (I sure hope I got that right.) Rusev interrupted and said there was no more New Day, only Rusev Day. Kofi Kingston wondered why it was Rusev Day again, but they celebrated anyway by playing the trombone as they backed away. English was about to sing “Rusev Day” but Rusev stopped him. This was really great.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defeated Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura (13:03)

Nakamura was about to hit a running knee to Owens but Zayn pulled him out of the way, allowing Owens to take control. Orton eventually made the hot tag and hit Zayn with clotheslines and an Exploder. Orton also gave Owens a backdrop on the barricade. Zayn went for a dive but Orton cut him off with a forearm and gave him a backdrop on the announce table, which broke. The table probably wasn’t supposed to break and Orton couldn’t help but smile.

Orton went for a cover in the ring but Owens broke it up and gave him a superkick. Nakamura took out Owens and Orton hit Zayn with a powerslam for a nearfall. Owens tossed Nakamura into the steps and jumped on the apron. This distracted the referee allowing Zayn to give Orton a low-blow. Zayn followed with a Helluva kick for the pinfall win over Orton.

Good match and the ending was perfect.

Afterwards, they cut backstage to Gorilla where Owens and Zayn rubbed their win in Bryan’s face. They asked Bryan what he had for them next. Bryan let them know that would be up to Shane McMahon who is returning next week. Owens and Zayn were concerned.

After some replays, they cut back to Nakamura and Orton who watched as Owens and Zayn ran back out on the stage and celebrated their win. Zayn did the Yes chants as Owens yelled, “Kevin and Sami are the best!” Owens ended the show by announcing that Sami was his best friend.

– Bobby Roode defeated Dolph Ziggler

Roode was over and Ziggler got decent heat here. Ziggler’s theme song stopped with a record scratch, with him entering with no music or lights. Roode kicked out of a Zig-Zag and reversed another Zig-Zag attempt into the Glorious DDT for the win.

– Sami Zayn defeated Mike Kanellis

Zayn cut a heel promo before the match. He said that he was disappointed the fans were cheering for Kanellis over him (even though they weren’t) and said that he did the right thing at Hell in a Cell.

A really short match followed. Kanellis got some offense in, but Zayn won with the Helluva Kick. Zayn was still using his ska theme.

– Aiden English defeated Sin Cara

English came out mocking the Canadian national anthem for cheap heat. They had a pretty boring match that English won.

– Breezango defeated The Hype Bros and The Colons

Breezango received a decent pop and Zack Ryder was very over. The Colons didn’t come out to any reaction, and it didn’t seem like people remembered who they were.

These teams had a comedy match that went long, with it not getting much of a reaction. Fandango eventually pinned Primo with a Falcon Arrow.

– SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya defeated Carmella (w/ James Ellsworth) and Charlotte Flair to retain her title

This was a pretty good match. Natalya got a good reaction, which she always gets in Canada. She and Carmella teamed up to beat down Charlotte, but they eventually turned on each other. Charlotte took over from there and put Carmella in the Figure Eight until Natalya broke it up and pinned Carmella.

– United States Champion Baron Corbin defeated Tye Dillinger, AJ Styles, and Rusev to retain his title

They had the best match of the night. Styles was super over and all four guys worked really hard. Dillinger was focused on for much of the match, then the finish came when Corbin cleared the ring of Styles and caught Dillinger with the End of Days.

– WWE Champion Jinder Mahal defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to retain his title

Surprisingly, a lot of people seemed to leave after the US title match. Mahal was over here and wasn’t with The Singh Brothers. He did a promo in Punjabi before the match, then Nakamura got a good reaction for his entrance. The crowd was doing dueling chants for Mahal as the match went on.

Mahal smashed Nakamura’s head on the turnbuckle and then hit the Khallas to retain. Mahal attacked Nakamura after the bell, but Nakamura got his heat back by hitting him with the Kinshasa.

Jinder Mahal to reveal his Survivor Series plans on WWE SmackDown

WWE’s plans for the Survivor Series main event should be confirmed on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

After returning from his media tour of India, WWE is advertising that Jinder Mahal will be making an announcement about his plans for Survivor Series and issuing a challenge for the dual-branded pay-per-view. As Dave Meltzer reported last week, plans call for Mahal to face Brock Lesnar in the main event of the PPV in a match where neither Mahal’s WWE Championship nor Lesnar’s Universal title is on the line.

The direction for the rest of the Survivor Series card should become clear in the coming weeks. The last brand-exclusive PPV before Survivor Series will take place on Sunday as Raw presents TLC.

Tonight’s SmackDown from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington will also feature Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler in a rematch from Hell in a Cell, Sami Zayn will open the show with a promo after aligning himself with Kevin Owens last week, Baron Corbin will be involved in a match, and Breezango’s Pulp Fiction-inspired edition of the Fashion Files should finally air.

Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal currently planned for WWE Survivor Series

Dave Meltzer reported in today’s daily update that current plans call for Raw’s top champion to face SmackDown’s top champion in a non-title match at November’s dual-branded Survivor Series pay-per-view.

The match would be Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal, with neither the Universal nor WWE Championship on the line. What the card for Survivor Series looks like should be finalized in the coming weeks as both brands will begin building to the show.

Lesnar headlined last year’s Survivor Series as well. That’s where he lost to Goldberg in just over a minute, with their feud continuing all the way to WrestleMania. The rest of the card last year was built around Raw vs. SmackDown matches.

As noted earlier today, it appears that Mahal may still be champion when WWE tours India in December as he’s scheduled to defend his title against Kevin Owens at those two shows.

Survivor Series will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on November 19th. The arena will also host NXT TakeOver: War Games the night before that and both Raw and SmackDown in the days after the PPV.

Jinder Mahal to defend his WWE title against Kevin Owens in India

WWE has announced Jinder Mahal’s opponent for their two-show tour of India in December.

While doing media in India, Mahal appeared on the set of WWE Sunday Dhamaal (the company’s weekly Hindi-language program) to reveal that Kevin Owens would be challenging him for the WWE Championship on the two house shows. Mahal defending against a heel would seem to indicate that he’ll be presented as a complete babyface in the country.

The shows will take place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on December 8th and 9th. Mahal, the Singh Brothers, and Owens will be appearing at them despite it being a Raw-branded tour. Others who have been advertised for the events are Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, The Miz, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

Before going to India, the Raw roster will be in Abu Dhabi for a show on December 7th. Mahal, the Singh Brothers, and Owens haven’t been advertised for that event.

While plans could change, WWE announcing that Mahal will be defending his title against Owens in India could mean that his reign is planned to last through at least those shows. The next SmackDown-exclusive pay-per-view will be Clash of Champions on December 17th, and we should find out what Mahal’s direction for November’s dual-branded Survivor Series PPV is in the coming weeks.
