‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan signs WWE Legends contract

Wrestling legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is back under contract with WWE.

Speaking on a new episode of The Hacksaw Hour, Duggan revealed that he recently signed a WWE Legends contract. Duggan said it’s been a while since he was last under a Legends deal — and he’s looking forward to being featured in action figures and video games again.

“I just signed a Legends deal with the WWE,” the 71-year-old Duggan announced. “Just recently signed the Legends deal. I haven’t signed it for a while, there was a little kind of discrepancy what was going on, but we got it all worked out and was able to sign it. So hopefully the action figures and the games will be coming back out again.”

Duggan made an appearance at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event episode that took place in San Antonio on January 25. While at the show, he was also interviewed for future WWE content. Duggan said he was treated very well backstage and received a good paycheck for appearing. He feels WWE is a whole different world under its new management regime.

“I’m excited [about the Legends deal]. Like I said, it’s a whole new day up there in WWE. Proud to be part of it,” Duggan said. “Of course, you know, I never blasted the WWE. I never blasted Vince [McMahon]. As bad as he was, I still wouldn’t be where I am without him. Wrestling wouldn’t be where it is without him. I can’t vouch for his character — but as a businessman that took wrestling from high school gyms and National Guard armories to what it is today.

“But I signed that deal, so hopefully it won’t take too long to be in the circuit to come out with new action figures and stuff, and hopefully they give me some abs this time, you know? [laughs]”

Duggan is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, having been inducted in 2011.

‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan issues statement after detaining intruder during break-in

Pro wrestling legend “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan has issued a statement after dealing with a scary situation at his home.

As noted in Saturday’s Daily Update, Duggan tackled and detained an intruder who came through his front door at around 6:45 p.m. on December 8. Duggan held the intruder at gunpoint after detaining him.

Duggan told Wrestling Inc. that the intruder was a man in his mid-20s who was “fleeing individuals related to a separate legal matter, leading him to seek refuge.” The intruder “reportedly pounded on multiple other doors before climbing over the Duggans’ fence and entering through their unlocked door. Duggan did not press charges when asked, letting the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department apprehend the intruder.”

The intruder, who Duggan and his wife Debra said was “hysterically frightened,” claimed that there were people from a nearby home who were coming after him to kill him. Because they heard other people yelling in the neighborhood, Duggan and Debra turned their Christmas lights off and told the intruder to be quiet. Duggan told Wrestling Inc. that he kept his .44 caliber pistol on his lap and had his hand on the intruder’s back until police came.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, the 68-year-old Duggan wrote that he and Debra are safe with no damage. Duggan thanked everyone for their concern and well-wishes.

We would like to thank the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department for their prompt and professional response last week. A man who we had never seen before climbed our fence, ran through our yard to our front door, and was pounding on our glass doors.

Before we could get to the door, he opened it and fell into our house. I held him at gunpoint while Debra called 911. We are safe with no damage.

Thanks to everyone for the concern and well wishes!

‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan shares update on battle with cancer

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan has provided an update on his battle with prostate cancer.

Duggan had surgery to remove his prostate last October. He then announced in May that he will be undergoing radiation treatment as the cancer had returned.

In a video he posted to Instagram recently, Duggan spoke about having to do six more weeks of radiation treatments.

“Hey folks, I was just in there brushing my teeth, getting ready for bed, feeling sorry for myself. It wasn’t that long ago I had kidney cancer, I lost a kidney. Then just three years ago, I had all the heart problems, where I was in the ICU unit and ended up having an ablation. Then I had two other incidents where I was in the ICU unit, and then I get diagnosed with prostate cancer, they take out my prostate and I still have to have radiation because the cancer is still in me.”

“I’m sitting there feeling a little sorry for myself. Then I look in the mirror, and the man in the mirror is looking back hard at me. And it’s ‘Duggan, pull your head out! Stand up straight! God bless that you have only 6 more weeks of radiation. God bless that you only have six more weeks of radiation. Look around, look around, you got it a lot better than a lot of other people, God bless. So, Hacksaw, pull your head out and I’m going to do it and folks, make sure you get your physicals, save your life.”
