UFC on ESPN+ 109 live results: Jared Cannonier vs. Gregory Rodrigues

The Octagon returns to its home base inside of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with a slate of twelve action-packed fights for UFC on ESPN+ 109.

The headliner is a five-round middleweight bout that sees eighth-ranked former title challenger Jared Cannonier looking to get back into the win column against rising contender Gregory Rodrigues. Cannonier has lost two straight fights as he’s struggled to get back into the title picture, while Rodrigues enters his first UFC main event looking to extend his three-fight win streak and find a spot in the middleweight rankings as he climbs the division ladder.

In the co-main event, Calvin Kattar looks to end a three-fight losing skid when he takes on Youssef Zalal, winner of six straight fights.

Also on the main card is a middleweight bout between Edmen Shahbazyan and Dylan Budka; a lightweight bout pitting Ismael Bonfim against Nazim Sadykhov; and a bout between middleweight submission specialists Rodolfo Vieira and Andre Petroski opens the main card.

Walker goes for a takedown against the fence and is able to complete it. Walker with some punches and short elbows from the top. Walker attacks the leg and locks in a heel hook and it gets Mayes to tap.

Smith lands a jab as Morales lands a right hand. Smith lands a leg kick. They trade and Morales lands a combo but then lands a hard kick right to the cup and timeout is called. They get back to action and Morales is pressuring with a jab. Smith lands a combination. Smith with a leg kick. Timeout is called for an eye poke. They get back to action and Smith with a jab. Smith lands a double jab. Morales lands a pair of right hands and they trade with Morales landing a left hook. Smith lands a right hand. Morales lands a right hand. Williams with a left hand and then a quick flurry, but Bonfim is able to get it to the mat. Williams is able to get to his feet as Bonfim is holding onto him. Souza lands again and they clinch as Souza lands to the body. Hill with some more knees as she has Souza against the fence. They separate and Hill then scores a takedown. UFC on ESPN 62 live results: Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho

Action inside the Octagon returns to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for the final August UFC event with UFC on ESPN 62.

In the main event, it will be a five-round bout at middleweight as former title challenger Jared Cannonier battles Caio Borralho. Cannonier makes a quick turnaround after suffering a loss to Nassourdine Imavov in June, while Borralho looks to remain undefeated as a member of the UFC roster.

The rest of the main card features several UFC veterans as Angela Hill battles Tabatha Ricci in a women’s strawweight bout; Neil Magny looks to add to his UFC welterweight wins record when he takes on undefeated Michael Morales; and Edmen Shahbazyan meets Gerald Meerschaert in a middleweight bout.

The main card also features the finals of The Ultimate Fighter’s 32nd season as Robert Valentin meets Ryan Loder in the middleweight final, and Kaan Ofli takes on Mairon Santos in the featherweight final.

*A fight between Zygimantas Ramaska and Nathan Fletcher, scheduled for the prelims, has been scratched from the card due to medical issues for Fletcher.

For the first time since 2011, the Octagon is in Louisville, Kentucky, for night two of a TKO doubleheader at the KFC Yum Center with UFC on ESPN 57.

The main event is a five-round contest in the middleweight division as former title challenger Jared Cannonier looks to get one step closer to another title shot when he takes on Nassourdine Imavov. Cannonier has won two straight fights while Imavov is coming in off a win over Roman Dolidze.

In the co-main event, former light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes looks to end a four-fight losing skid when he takes on Dustin Jacoby.

They get to their feet and Rosas gets it back down though Turcios blatantly grabbed the fence. Rosas lands but Turcios is able to get the back of Rosas and looks for a choke. He almost has a rear-naked choke locked in as it’s on the jaw. Rosas landing back punches and escapes to the top. Rosas gets the back of Turcios. Rosas keeps the back as the round ends. 10-9 Rosas Jr.

Rosas just misses a flying knee but then lands a step-in knee as they clinch. Rosas gets Turcios down to the mat. Turcios with some elbows and gets warned since there were some to the spine and some 12-6 elbows in there. Rosas gets the back of Turcios and has the body triangle locked in. Rosas working for a choke attempt. Rosas has one on the chin and he is squeezing. It is now fully locked in and Turcios taps! What a showing from Rosas Jr. to get the win!

Former middleweight title challengers Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier square off in the five-round main event at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 47 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Vettori is currently ranked third at 185 pounds and is coming off a win over Roman Dolidze in March, while Cannonier is ranked fourth and is coming off a win over Sean Strickland in December.

Also on the main card is eighth-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan taking on Joaquim Silva in the co-main event in addition to Armen Petrosyan vs. Christian Leroy Duncan, Pat Sabatini vs. Lucas Almeida, and Nicolas Dalby vs. Muslim Salikhov.

Argueta pushes it against the fence right away and is able to get the takedown and the back. He’s trying to get the hooks in. They scramble and Argueta ends up in the half-guard. He works to the neck and has a guillotine choke locked in. Lawrence is pushing the hips but still in danger. Argueta loses his grip but still has the neck. He gets a mounted guillotine choke locked in and Lawrence appeared to tap once and the fight is stopped. Replay shows that Keith Peterson touched Lawrence’s arm to see if he was still out and it kind of forced a tap motion and it was stopped, so we’re going to a replay here.

> Women’s Flyweights- Tereza Bleda (6-1, 0-1 UFC) vs. Gabriella Fernandes (8-2, 0-1 UFC)

They trade kicks early on. Bleda looks for a takedown but Fernandes defends against the fence. Bleda landing kicks looking to close the distance. They trade kicks. Fernandes lands a kick and Bleda catches it and gets a takedown despite a fence grab from Fernandes. Bleda in the half-mount and landing right hands. Bleda continuing to land from the top as she’s attacking the head and body. She ends the round on top. 10-9 Bleda.

They clinch against the fence as Bleda is working for the takedown. Bleda gets the takedown and is working inside the guard of Fernandes against the fence. Fernandes throws her legs up looking for a triangle choke as Bleda is defending, and Bleda gets back into the full guard. Bleda ends the round on top landing punches. 10-9 Bleda, 20-18 Bleda.

Bondar with another leg kick. Hernandez lands a combo in close range and scores with a knee. They tie up and Hernandez lands a left hand. Hernandez lands a combo at the end. 10-9 Hernandez.

Hernandez with a combo and lands a head kick followed by a big knee. They trade in close range and Hernandez scores a takedown. They get back up and both are landing. Hernandez gets a takedown and starts landing big elbows and Bondar is out the fight is stopped with one second to go! What a finish from Hernandez!

We have some controversy here as they’re looking at a replay for a clash of heads but it happened during a throw takedown, which often happens. It shouldn’t be called a clash of heads as it’s a legal wrestling throw. This will be interesting. It shouldn’t be overturned. They are counting it as a clash of heads and are going to the scorecards instead of giving Hernandez the TKO win.

The Octagon is back inside the UFC Apex this weekend for the final fight card of 2022, which will be capped off by a middleweight main event between two men trying to get themselves back into the title picture.

Third-ranked Jared Cannonier takes on seventh-ranked Sean Strickland in the five-round headline bout at 185 pounds. Both are looking to get back into the win column after suffering losses at UFC 276 in July. Cannonier came up short in a title shot, dropping a decision to now-former UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya. Strickland was knocked out in the first round by Alex Pereira, who went on to defeat Adesanya to win the UFC Middleweight Championship. Cannonier and Strickland were originally slated to fight in October, but an injury to Strickland pushed the fight back two months.

In the co-main event, it is a battle of rising lightweight contenders as Arman Tsarukyan battles Damir Ismagulov. Also on the main card is flyweight Amir Albazi welcoming Alessandro Costa to the UFC, a featherweight match-up pitting Alex Caceres against Julian Erosa, and a battle of lightweight veterans as Drew Dober takes on Bobby Green.

Welcome to F4WOnline.com’s live coverage of UFC 276: Adesanya vs. Cannonier, emanating from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It is 2022 International Fight Week in Las Vegas, the home of combat sports and the UFC, with a week full of events capped off by UFC 276, which features an absolutely stacked card with two title fights and some big match-ups on the card.

In the main event, UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya makes his fifth title defense of the undisputed title as he defends against top contender Jared Cannonier. Both men last fought at UFC 271 in February as Adesanya successfully defended against Robert Whittaker in their rematch while Cannonier scored a brutal second-round knockout of Derek Brunson. Cannonier then called for a title shot after the fight, which he gets on the heels of two straight wins and wins in five of his last six.

In the co-main event, UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski defends against former champion Max Holloway in their trilogy bout. Volkanovski has won the first two fights, beating Holloway for the title at UFC 245 in December 2019, then defending against Holloway at UFC 251 in July 2020 in a fight that many scored for Holloway. Volkanovski is coming off a defense against Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273 in April, while Holloway is coming off a win over Yair Rodriguez in November.

Also on the main card is a middleweight bout that could determine the next title challenger as Sean Strickland battles Alex Pereira, a welterweight fight between former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler and Bryan Barberena, and the main card opens with an exciting bantamweight bout between Pedro Munhoz and rising contender and star Sean O’Malley.

The main prelims are stacked and will be the first MMA fight shown in prime time on ABC, capped off with a lightweight bout between Brad Riddell and Jalin Turner. The other ABC fights will see the all-time UFC wins leader will be decided between Jim Miller and Donald Cerrone in a welterweight clash, Ian Garry takes on Gabe Green in a welterweight bout, and a middleweight bout pitting Brad Tavares against Dricus Du Plessis.

> Women’s Bantamweights- Jessica-Rose Clark (11-7 1 NC, 4-3 UFC) vs. Julija Stoliarenko (9-6-1, 0-4 UFC)

Clark came out to Shawn Michaels’ WWE theme. Clark clips Stoliarenko with a right hand early and had her hurt. Clark lands a combo and Stoliarenko gets a takedown and passes to side control. Stoliarenko going right for the armbar and has it in and Clark taps! That was quick. Clark looked to dislocate her elbow as well. That was nasty.

They clinch up early with both landing. Barber with some knees as Eye was landing to the body and they go against the fence. Eye pushing Barber against the fence. Barber with an elbow after landing some punches. Eye with a knee and then Barber with an elbow, then a knee then another big elbow. They reverse and Barber with a knee. They break and Eye lands a right hand. They clinch back up as Barber lands some elbows. Barber with another elbow then another big one. Barber with some big punches against the fence. Barber with a knee. They remain clinched and Barber is landing some big shots. They trade knees. 10-9 Barber.

Barber lands a right hand. They clinch back up. Eye working for a takedown. Barber lands a knee as she defends. Barber lands a big elbow and a knee as they break. Eye shoots for a takedown but Barber defends as they tie up against the fence. Barber with an elbow and they break. Barber lands a head kick and Eye gets the takedown and steps over to the half-guard. Eye controlling from the top but there is not a lot of action going on. They trade in close range and Barber tries a head kick and Eye grabs the leg and pushes it against the fence. They break after Eye lands a right hand. Barber lands a right hand. Eye tries a takedown and has a leg and Barber lands some hammerfists as she defends and they get to their feet. Eye pushes it against the fence. Barber with a big elbow. After the fight, Eye announced her retirement.

Muniz with a body kick. Hall lands a quick jab as they’re feeling each other out. Muniz lands a body kick. Hall lands a combo with his back to the fence. Muniz with a leg kick. Hall lands a right hand and Muniz gets a takedown. Muniz gets to side control. Muniz lands from the top and is looking to find a submission and Hall is doing a good job of defending. Muniz gets the mount and went for a triangle choke but Hall slipped out to his feet. Muniz grabs the body and drags it down and has the back. Muniz looking to attack the arm. Muniz with some right hands from the back. 10-9 Muniz.

They trade kicks to start the second. Muniz lands a body kick then a right hand. Muniz tries a takedown but Hall slips away as he defends. Du Plessis comes forward landing low kicks and with a combo. Tavares lands a right hand as Du Plessis was shooting for a takedown that hurt Du Plessis. Tavares keeps it on the feet. They’re clinched against the fence. Du Plessis tries a takedown but Tavares reverses and is in side control. Tavares now trying to get to the guard as he controls from the top and they get to their feet. Du Plessis looks for another takedown but Tavares defends. They break and Tavares with a head kick. Tavares hurts Du Plessis with a right hand and Du Plessis tries a takedown but Tavares defends. They’re clinched against the fence and Tavares with a knee. They trade knees. They break and Du Plessis with a spinning back fist. Tavares lands a front kick and a right hand. 10-9 Tavares.

They trade in close range and Cerrone lands with more volume. Cerrone with a combo. Miller grabs a leg and gets a takedown and lands a left hand as doing so. Miller in the guard of Cerrone. Miller with an elbow from the top. Miller with more left hands from the top and he was landing then Cerrone swept to the top. Both landing on the ground and Miller tries for an armbar and they both try for leg locks at the end. 10-9 Miller.

They trade kicks as Cerrone landed a head kick as Miller landed a body kick and Cerrone slips to the mat and Miller grabbed the neck and locked in a guillotine choke and it is in tight. Cerrone taps! Jim Miller gets it done to become the all-time wins leader in UFC history.

Turner lands a right hand and Riddell goes for a takedown and Turner grabs the neck for a guillotine choke and has it locked in tight and Riddell taps! That was quick and an excellent finish by Turner.

The Octagon is back at its home base in Las Vegas after a week in Houston and a following week off, as UFC action returns with a middleweight main event between two men trying to get into title contention.

Jared Cannonier will battle former TUF winner and former title challenger Kelvin Gastelum in the five-round headline bout. Cannonier is fighting for the first time since October as he looks to get back into the win column after dropping a decision to Robert Whittaker. He was out due to surgery following the fight and returns after a near ten-month layoff. Gastelum is also coming in off a decision loss to Whittaker, which came in April, and he looks to work his way back into the top five and up the middleweight ladder.

Also on the main card is a lightweight bout between long-time veteran and fan favorite Clay Guida and the undefeated Mark O. Madsen, a heavyweight bout between Parker Porter and Chase Sherman, a lightweight bout pitting Vinc Pichel against Austin Hubbard, and flyweight contenders Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval open the main card.

Brahimaj moves to the mount and is looking to set something up. Brahimaj looking for a rear-naked choke as he takes the back. It is in tight. Palatnikov trying to fight it off but it is still in tight. Palatnikov goes out cold! Nice win for Brahimaj.
