Former WCW cameraman Jackie Crockett passes away

Jackie Crockett, part of the Crockett wrestling family, has passed away.

PWInsider reported that Crockett passed away Wednesday evening after being hospitalized for a month. He was the brother of wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. and former NWA announcer David Crockett. All three are the sons of promoter Jim Crockett.

“It has been a long journey for Jackie and he went out his way,” David Crockett told PWInsider. “Tonight Jackie’s breathing was very labored and when we thought he was gone, he would come back like a wrestling false finish.”

Funeral arrangements are not yet known, but Crockett will be buried in Bristol, Virginia next to his brother Jim, who died in 2021, and their parents.

Crockett was the lead cameraman for Jim Crockett Promotions, and continued to work for what would eventually become World Championship Wrestling through the final episode of WCW Nitro in 2001. He also briefly appeared on camera to interview talent for local promos.
