Sammy Guevara advances in Four Pillars tournament on AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara has advanced in the Four Pillars tournament.

Guevara defeated Jungle Boy Jack Perry on Wednesday’s Dynamite via count out in order to advance to next week, where he will meet Darby Allin in the finals to determine MJF’s opponent for Double or Nothing next month. The finish came when MJF used the Dynamite diamond ring to punch out Jungle Boy on the outside while Guevara distracted the referee, who eventually counted to ten and gave the win to Guevara.

Earlier in the show, MJF told Guevara he wanted him to advance to Double or Nothing so Guevara could take the fall for him. Guevara initally wasn’t interested in MJF’s offer, but after MJF gave him a blank check Guevara became more receptive to the idea.

The Four Pillars tournament was established in the opening segment of Wednesday’s Dynamite where Jungle Boy, Guevara, and Allin all made claim to be the next challenger. MJF came out and proposed the Four Pillars tournament, with Allin being selected to get the bye to the next round.

Four Pillars tournament to decide MJF’s opponent for AEW Double or Nothing

A three-man tournament will decide MJF’s next opponent for the AEW World Championship.

Dynamite on Wednesday opened with Jungle Boy, Sammy Guevara, and Darby Allin trading words with one another about becoming the next AEW World Champion. This eventually led to MJF coming out and saying that he had a talk with Tony Khan. He said a tournament would determine his opponent for Double or Nothing.

The tournament will begin on Wednesday’s Dynamite with Jungle Boy facing Guevara in the main event. The winner of that match will then advance to next week’s show where they will face Allin, who received a bye after MJF drew his name out of a hat. The winner of the match next week then will face MJF at Double or Nothing on May 28.

In the weeks following Revolution Jungle Boy, Guevara, and Allin all made claims to being the next in line to challenge MJF. Jungle Boy attacked MJF earlier this month on Dynamite by disguising himself as part of a band MJF hired to play during an MJF Day celebration.
