Timothy Thatcher’s Fight Pit record improved to 2-0 last night.

In the second-ever Fight Pit match, Thatcher defeated Tommaso Ciampa in the main event of last night’s NXT. Thatcher also defeated Matt Riddle in the first Fight Pit match in May 2020.

The Fight Pit match can only be won by knockout or submission. Thatcher submitted Ciampa with a stretch muffler while Ciampa’s other leg was between the cage and the ring post.

In a post-NXT video, Ciampa learned that Ashante “Thee” Adonis & Desmond Troy are out of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Ciampa then went to Thatcher and asked why Thatcher didn’t break his leg when he had the chance to in the Fight Pit. Thatcher responded by saying that he respects Ciampa. Ciampa then told Thatcher that there’s an opening in the Dusty Classic.

The first round of the men’s Dusty Classic continued with Kushida & Leon Ruff defeating NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory and Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado defeating Imperium last night. The women’s Dusty Classic also kicked off with Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter upsetting Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez.
