WWE announces lineup for this week’s SmackDown

WWE has revealed much of the lineup for this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Two matches and two other segments have been announced for this Friday’s show. Matt Riddle will take on Sheamus, Jeff Hardy will face Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt will host a new edition of the Firefly Fun House, and Sonya Deville will be The Miz and John Morrison’s guest on The Dirt Sheet.

Corbin has offered a King’s Ransom bounty to anyone who can take out Riddle. After losing to Hardy in their bar fight the previous week, Sheamus cut a promo last Friday where he sent a warning to the SmackDown roster. Sheamus said Hardy will self-destruct on his own and declared that he’s moving on from his feud with Hardy.

Corbin interrupted Hardy on SmackDown last week and then defeated Drew Gulak.

Last week’s SmackDown ended with an angle where The Fiend put Alexa Bliss (who is friends with Braun Strowman) in the Mandible Claw. WWE is teasing that Wyatt may reveal the motivations for that attack during tomorrow’s Firefly Fun House segment.

Deville attacked Mandy Rose backstage last week, cut some of Rose’s hair, and then attempted to shave her head until being stopped.

The Dirt Sheet to return on next week’s WWE SmackDown

Next week’s SmackDown will feature the return of The Dirt Sheet.

The Dirt Sheet used to be a web series that aired on WWE.com, hosted by John Morrison and The Miz. It was eventually reformatted as a talk show segment that aired on WWE’s version of ECW between 2008 and 2009.

The show was discontinued after Miz and Morrison were drafted to different brands, with The Miz turning on John Morrison.

The two have reunited as a tag team since John Morrison’s return to the company last month. On this week’s SmackDown, Miz and Morrison defeated the Lucha House Party, Heavy Machinery and the Revival in a fatal four way match that would determine the next challengers for the SmackDown Tag Team titles, which are currently carried by The New Day.

Miz & Morrison vs. The New Day was then set for WWE Super Showdown, which will take place at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 27.

Next week’s edition of SmackDown will be at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
