  • Amid her ongoing absence from AEW programming, Britt Baker sent out the following message on X/Twitter yesterday: “We’re always so quick to burn the trolls on this app, but never quick enough to appreciate the true fans who show love every day. Thank you”
  • Tony Khan spoke to Forbes about AEW introducing Women’s Tag Team titles:
    • I’m very excited about the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship coming to AEW this year. Throughout 2025, the women’s division has been delivering more great matches and rivalries than ever before, and so many top stars have continued to emerge.
    • We’ve had amazing signings, like Mercedes Mone, who came in as a free agent and is now the TBS Champion, and if you look back a few years, Toni Storm joined AEW and went on to become one of our greatest champions. Along the way, we’ve added so many talented faces. Kris Statlander, who’s been here from the early years, has become a top star in her own right.
    • More recently, we’ve also seen the rise of some very interesting and very talented women’s tag teams. With the roster at its strongest, the highest quality it’s ever been, I think now is the perfect time to introduce the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. Women’s wrestling in AEW is the best it’s ever been, and these titles will make it even stronger.
  • During an interview with Undisputed, Anthony Bowens listed the five best moments he’s ever had on AEW Dynamite:
    • Winning the tag team titles [September 2022] – ‘We won the belts on Dynamite, a night I’ll always remember.’
    • Dynamite debut [December 2020] – ‘Our first match ever has to belong on this list, and that was against SCU.’
    • Main-eventing against the Young Bucks [December 2020] – ‘The fans got to see our entire journey, beginning from when we were paired together on DARK and didn’t have the same gear yet. This was a big step for us, a tag team title shot a couple months into the company.’
    • Main-eventing against Sting [January 2022] – ‘Sting is one of my heroes, so wrestling him in Washington, DC was very significant for me.’
    • National Scissoring Day [October 2022] – ‘This would be incomplete without National Scissoring Day. That was a very interesting day. It was trending all day, and it cemented us as stars.’
  • Will Ospreay named his Mount Rushmore of cruiserweight wrestlers: Rey Mysterio, Hayabusa, Naomichi Marufuji, and Dragon Kid.
  • Ricochet also listed his choices: Mysterio, Hayabusa, Jushin Thunder Liger, and Amazing Red.
  • Without revealing her destination, IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee posted an image teasing that she’s heading overseas for something.
  • Go Shiozaki spoke to Tokyo Sports about his future now that he’s departed Pro Wrestling NOAH:
    • I still don’t know where I’ll go. However, Go Shiozaki’s matches will remain the same, even if they evolve. I want to find a ring where I can bring out Go Shiozaki. I think that no matter which promotion I go to, I’ll be able to feel a fresh fight. That’s why I want to do things that can only be experienced as a freelancer.
  • An MLW Middleweight Championship match is set to take place on the TV taping portion of Slaughterhouse 2025 in Long Beach, California on October 4. It will be Templario defending his title against Virus.
  • Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno have been announced for GCW’s Dream On show at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey on November 22.

Shane McMahon making ‘phenomenal progress’ in torn quad recovery

Shane McMahon is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn quad.

Shane suffered the torn quad when facing The Miz in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 39 this April. It was Shane’s return to WWE after having been “out of the company” since the 2022 Royal Rumble.

In an interview with the Developmentally Speaking podcast, Shane’s son Declan McMahon said his father is making “phenomenal progress” in rehabbing the injury. Declan hopes Shane is able to return to the ring soon and come back better than ever.

Declan said:

His rehab’s going very, very well. He’s gotten back to like jogging. He’s squatting. He’s starting to work out again. It’s getting kind of difficult for him to [unable to make out word] side to side, but his rehab is going really, really well. He’s making phenomenal progress. The doctor said all the time that he’s healing quicker than they thought and, you know, when he tore it, he completely tore his quad tendon. So that’s a very long, hard recovery, but he’s been crushing rehab. He’s been doing his thing. He’ll hopefully get back soon.

Obviously you want to see your dad be able to do what they love, right? My dad loves wrestling second to none. He truly cares for the business. But not only for the business, he truly wants to just put on a show for the fans. Because the fans show him so much love and it’s so rewarding for a lot of those guys to just give to those fans who came to see them. So hopefully he comes back better than ever. And I think, you know, his rehab is going great.

Shane’s injury happened shortly after the WrestleMania 39 match started. He did a leapfrog and then went to drop down, but his leg gave out during the spot and he was unable to continue the match. Snoop Dogg, who was part of the segment, improvised quickly and stepped in for Shane, defeating Miz to win the match.

Declan McMahon attends Indiana University and is part of their football team as a walk-on. When Fastlane took place in Indianapolis earlier this month, Declan and other members of the football team were shown in the crowd.

Declan has said that a potential WWE career is something that he’s never going to rule out.

Declan’s full interview on Developmentally Speaking is available to watch below:

Declan McMahon on potential WWE career: ‘I’m never ruling it out’

Shane McMahon’s son Declan McMahon says that he’s not ruling out a potential future inside a WWE ring.

In an interview with WU Online’s Michael Weaver Jr., Declan says that his focus is on football for now, but that he won’t dismiss the possibility of stepping into a WWE storyline in the future.

McMahon said:

“When you’ve come up in this business, and you’ve seen it…

I’m never ruling it out. I would love to get in the ring, maybe, a couple times. But obviously you have to see if the opportunity presents itself. It’s all about the story. But, we’ll see.”

A freshman running back, McMahon committed to Indiana University in 2022, sitting out the season as a redshirt. He is on the roster for the 2023 college football campaign, but has yet to see playing time. He was awarded co-offensive scout team player of the week earlier this month in helping the Indiana Hoosiers prepare for a game against Michigan.

McMahon says that he believes fans would get behind him should he end up in professional wrestling:

“I think a lot of fans would get behind it if we ended up doing it. I think I’d be pretty good at it. But you never know. Never ruling that option out.”

For now, McMahon says his focus is on his studies and a potential football career:

“But as for now, I’m focusing on football and school. We’ll play that [WWE] by ear.”

McMahon was shown on camera at WWE Fastlane with his Indiana teammates earlier this month holding the custom Indiana University “turnover belt” given to his defensive teammates when forcing a turnover.

The full interview with Declan McMahon is embedded below.

Declan McMahon on potential WWE career: ‘Down the road, who knows?’

While he has no current plans to enter the family business, Declan McMahon isn’t ruling out stepping into the ring down the road.

Declan, the son of Shane McMahon and grandson of Vince McMahon, announced on Wednesday night that he’s committing to play college football at Indiana University as a preferred walk-on. In an interview with the Bloomington Herald-Times about the decision, Declan was asked about potentially following in his family’s footsteps in pro wrestling.

“I’ve tried it in my house,” the 18-year-old Declan said. “I have two younger brothers, so if we’re joking around I’ll pick them up and throw them on the couch. I’m going in with the mindset that I’ll cross that bridge when we get there. So right now no plans yet, but down the road, who knows? If I have to jump off a cage like my father, maybe that’s what I’ll do.”

Declan played high school football at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, New York. He played running back and quarterback in high school but expects to be a running back in college.

“I think I’m gonna fit in well,” Declan said. “I’m a tough-nosed running back and I’m not afraid to bowl a person over.”

Declan said he thinks being around WWE has helped him build character.

“As a kid it’s been great because you get to look up to guys you look at as super heroes,” Declan said. “Then you see them come home and they’re banged up. They don’t really look like heroes when there you’re parents. Just being around everybody, I think it’s helped me build my character, just being mature as a young age.”

Declan also received offers to play football at Duke, Rutgers, Fordham, and East Carolina.

Shane McMahon tweeted after Declan announced his commitment: “So proud to be Declan’s father. Hard work pays off. Go Hoosiers!”

John Cena also posted a tweet congratulating Declan:

Shane McMahon’s son Declan commits to Indiana University football program

Declan McMahon, the son of Shane McMahon and grandson of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, has committed to the Indiana University football program.

Declan made the announcement today on social media, while Shane quote tweeted the announcement.

Declan, 18, played running back and quarterback at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, New York. His Hudl profile lists him at 6 feet tall, weighing 192 pounds. He is set to graduate from Poly Prep as part of the class of 2022. He is the oldest of Shane and Marissa.

While not a football powerhouse, Indiana plays in the tough Big Ten conference. They followed up consecutive bowl game appearances in 2019 and 2020 with a 2-10 record overall and an 0-9 conference record in the 2021 season.

Indiana had one player selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, safety Jamar Johnson. Johnson played in three games for the Denver Broncos during the 2021 season.
