Participants advertised for WWE Elimination Chamber match

The Wells Fargo Center is advertising participants for next month’s Elimination Chamber event.

Earlier this afternoon, a tweet posted by the Wells Fargo Center Twitter account said that the headline match would be Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Daniel Bryan, Shinsuke Nakamura, King Corbin, and Robert Roode in an Elimination Chamber match. The winner of the match would go on to face the Universal Champion at WrestleMania. WWE has yet to officially confirm the match.

The current Universal Champion is The Fiend Bray Wyatt. However, he has a title match against Goldberg at Crown Jewel later this month in Saudi Arabia. It is likely that the winner of this match would face the winner of the Elimination Chamber match.

The match would tie a number of feuds together. Braun Strowman defeated Shinsuke Nakamura last week to win the Intercontinental championship on SmackDown. Roman Reigns has been primarily feuding with Baron Corbin over the last several months, though Robert Roode and his tag team partner Dolph Ziggler have also been involved, associating themselves with Corbin.

Elimination Chamber will take place on March 8th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Nikki & Brie Bella both announce pregnancies

Both Bella Twins are expecting babies later this year.

It was revealed via People Magazine today that Nikki Bella (Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace) & BrIe Bella (Brianna Danielson) are both pregnant. Their due dates are a week and a half apart.

This will be Brie and Daniel Bryan’s (Bryan Danielson) second child.

Nikki revealed at the start of the year that she and Artem Chigvintsev had gotten engaged in France back in November. This will be their first child.

Chigvintsev was Nikki’s partner on Dancing with the Stars.

“My husband and I were trying for seven or eight months, but then I felt in my heart it was a sign from God, like, ‘You guys are good with one,’ so we stopped trying,” Brie told People. “When we were in France meeting Artem’s family, I felt a little off. I was irritated and uncomfortable in my body. When we got home, I took a test two days before Thanksgiving, and when I saw the positive sign, I was like, ‘Oh, sh*t!’ “

“I was in yoga, and I kept getting this feeling that you need to take a pregnancy test, but I wasn’t even late yet,” Nikki said. “And so I’m like, ‘Why do I keep having this feeling? Am I getting twin vibes from her? Because she just told me she’s pregnant?’ “

“I didn’t tell Artem at this point,” Nikki said. “I just want to do this by myself. When I came back in, and it said pregnant, I had to sit down for a second.”

It was announced during season four of Total Bellas that both Nikki & Brie are retired from in-ring competition. Season five of Total Bellas will premiere on E! this spring.

WWE & Daniel Bryan partner together for new eco-friendly T-shirt

Daniel Bryan and WWE have worked together to release a new eco-friendly T-shirt.

The “Planet’s Champion” shirt was released today and costs $27.99. Here’s WWE’s description of it:

Show your support for Daniel Bryan & help the Earth with this Eco-Friendly T-Shirt! It may look like any regular tee, but it’s actually made from organic cotton and recycled poly rPET blend that makes the fabric more durable and heavyweight. Each shirt saves at least 4 plastic bottles from ending up in a landfill, or worse. Helping to clean our planet will make YOU The Planet’s Champion. Say YES to this Eco-Friendly T-Shirt!

Bryan also wrote that — in partnership with American Forests — a tree will be planted for every one of the eco-friendly shirts that is sold: “Today my new shirt has come out, one that @wwe made out of organic cotton and recycled materials. And thanks to a partnership with @americanforests, a tree will be planted for every shirt that’s sold!!! #Smackdown”

Sami Zayn responded to Bryan’s tweet: “This eco-friendly shirt should be standard practice henceforth with all @WWE shirts.”

Ahead of challenging Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a strap match at Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, there will be a contract signing segment with Wyatt and Bryan on SmackDown tonight.

Bray Wyatt-Daniel Bryan contract signing set for WWE SmackDown

A contract signing segment has been announced for SmackDown’s Royal Rumble go-home show.

Before challenging “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan will take part in a contract signing with Wyatt on SmackDown tomorrow. The Fiend vs. Bryan at the PPV will be a strap match.

The strap match stipulation was made official after a challenge issued by Bryan on SmackDown last week. The show opened with an angle where Kane and Bryan tried to set a trap for The Fiend, but The Fiend escaped back through the ring when Bryan attacked him.

Bryan then did an interview challenging The Fiend to make their title match at the Royal Rumble a strap match.

During his promo, Bryan said the stipulation was his idea for how to beat someone who disappears every time they’re in trouble. And while he understands that The Fiend will try to whip the flesh off his body and try to rip his arm out of his socket, Bryan is done with the mind games.

The American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas is hosting tomorrow’s SmackDown. Roman Reigns & The Usos vs. Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode is also set for the show.

Daniel Bryan to face The Fiend in strap match at WWE Royal Rumble

WWE has added a stipulation to The Fiend and Daniel Bryan’s Universal Championship match at the Royal Rumble.

The Fiend will now defend his Universal title against Bryan in a strap match at the pay-per-view. The stipulation was set up by a challenge that was issued by Bryan on tonight’s SmackDown.

Tonight’s show opened with an appearance by Kane. As he was cutting a promo about the Royal Rumble, he was interrupted by Bray Wyatt on the video screen. The segment led to the lights going out and The Fiend coming through the ring and trying to attack Kane.

But it was revealed that Kane and Bryan had set a trap for The Fiend. Kane (who was now outside of the ring) asked The Fiend what took so long. Bryan then ambushed The Fiend and hit him with the running knee. He tried to fight with The Fiend, but The Fiend escaped back through the ring. Bryan pulled out one of The Fiend’s dreadlocks as he escaped.

In a backstage interview, Bryan challenged The Fiend to the strap match. Bryan said the match was his idea for how to beat someone who disappears every time he’s in trouble.

Bryan said one end of the strap would be tied around each of their hands. And while he understood that The Fiend would try to whip the flesh off his body and try to rip his arm out of his socket, Bryan is done with the mind games.

The Royal Rumble is taking place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on January 26. Here’s the updated card for the PPV.

  • Men’s Royal Rumble match
  • Women’s Royal Rumble match
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defending against Asuka
  • Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defending against Daniel Bryan in a strap match
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley defending against Lacey Evans
  • Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin in a falls count anywhere match
  • Sheamus vs. Shorty G

WWE SmackDown live results: Reigns & Bryan vs. Corbin & Ziggler

The first SmackDown of 2020 takes place from the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee tonight.

Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns take on King Corbin & Dolph Ziggler in a tag team match. Bryan defeated Corbin and The Miz in a triple threat match last week to earn a title shot against Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at the Royal Rumble. Reigns attacked Corbin several times last week and even delayed the triple threat match.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks take on Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a triple threat tag team match. Two weeks ago, Banks taunted Evans’ daughter at ringside, which caused Evans to snap. Evans then appeared on A Moment of Bliss last week and promised to get her hands on Bayley and Banks. Evans and Brooke didn’t get the job done and now have two teams to contend with.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

They recapped Daniel Bryan defeating King Corbin and The Miz in a triple threat match to earn a title shot against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

In the back, Daniel Bryan was wrapping his hands when The Miz approached. Miz noted Bray Wyatt invaded his house and threatened his daughter. He promised to take everything from Wyatt, but Bryan gets the title shot.

Miz is going to figure out another way to get revenge on Wyatt. He then told Bryan to defeat Wyatt at the Royal Rumble and beat him for the Universal title.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks made their way to the ring. Bayley talked about change being tough and noted the fans aren’t good enough to make changes.

In 2019, Bayley and Banks looked in the mirror and made significant changes. She noted they’re locker room leaders and mentioned Lacey Evans.

Evans and Dana Brooke interrupted. Evans told Bayley and Banks to keep her daughter’s name out of their mouths. She promised to teach her daughter that the bad guys will lose.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross made their way onto the stage. Bliss noted there’s an intense rivalry between the other two teams and wondered if they should even be in the match.

Cross pointed out they should be in the match to prove they deserve a title shot at the tag team champions. Bliss agreed, and they started walking towards the ring.

Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Evans jumped Banks to start the match. Banks quickly tagged out to Cross to avoid Evans. On commentary, Michael Cole stressed that Dana Brooke has improved.

Banks made a blind tag, and Bayley pulled Brooke out of the ring. Bliss took out Bayley with a sliding dropkick. Bayley and Banks took over and isolated Bliss on their side of the ring.

Evans, Brooke, Banks, and Bayley all ended up on the floor. Cross then hit a crossbody to the floor, wiping out everyone but Banks. Banks grabbed Cross and threw her into the ring steps.

Back from the break, Brooke was firmly in control and ran wild. She hit a cartwheel into a splash for a near fall.

Bayley pulled Brooke down by the hair and slammed her on the mat. Banks followed up with a knee for a two count.

The heels regained control and isolated Brooke from her corner. Bayley hit a knee on Brooke into a back suplex by Banks for a close near fall.

Evans got the hot tag and ran wild. She hit a standing moonsault on Bayley. Evans was firmly in control and attempted her moonsault off the top, but Banks pulled Bayley out of the way.

Bayley hit a Bayley-to-Belly on Evans, but Bliss and Cross broke up the pin attempt.

The finish came when Evans rocked Banks with the Women’s Right. Brooke then hit the Swanton bomb on Banks for the win.

They recapped Dolph Ziggler hitting on Mandy Rose and stepping on the cake Otis’s mother made that he gave to Rose.

In the back, Rose approached Otis as he curled a beer keg. Rose asked if his mama made anything for New Year’s. He ignored her and told her to ask Dolph Ziggler. She tried to apologize, but Tucker showed up. He told Otis to concentrate on the match later and gave Rose a disapproving look.

Back from the break, The Miz was walking backstage. He ran into Kofi Kingston, and Big E. He’s still feeling upset about Bray Wyatt, so they tried to cheer him up. Kingston pointed out that Miz held the most titles in the 2010s. Big E noted that Miz’s tied with Kingston for most titles.

Miz didn’t care about titles and knocked the pancakes down. Miz has more significant problems with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. He then challenged Kingston to a match, and Big E got in Miz’s face. Kingston then agreed to the match.

In the ring, Elias sang a song and made fun of Sami Zayn, Shane McMahon, The Revival, Dolph Ziggler’s stand up comedy, and King Corbin. Elias then promised to win the Royal Rumble.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves discussed The Revival feeling like an elite tag team put in situations to make them look bad. They recapped Heavy Machinery defeating The Revival in the Miracle on 34th Street Fight.

Earlier today in the locker room, The Revival was furious about the street fight and Elias making fun of them.

Shorty G approached and told them to embrace the jokes. They made a bunch of short jokes, but Shorty G noted it didn’t bother him. Dash Wilder challenged Shorty G to a match, and he accepted.

Shorty G defeated Dash Wilder (w/Scott Dawson)

Dawson joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves on commentary.

Wilder had the early advantage and hit a back suplex off the top turnbuckle for a near fall.

Shorty G made a comeback and rolled up Wilder for a two count. Wilder attempted a back suplex, but Shorty G rolled through and applied the ankle lock for the win.

After the match, The Revival jumped Shorty G and hit the Shatter Machine.

Suddenly, Sheamus’s music hit and he walked down to the ring.

Sheamus entered the ring, and The Revival left. Sheamus then turned around and hit the Brogue Kick on Shorty G. There was a slight “Welcome Back” chant.

Kofi Kingston (w/Big E) defeated The Miz

They went back and forth early and were pretty even. Kingston caught Miz with a huge monkey flip and laughed at Miz. Kingston then teased a dive but bounced back in the ring.

Miz took over with a kick to the gut. He backed Kingston into the corner and nailed a series of kicks. Miz followed up with the running knees in the corner, but Kingson countered with a boot to the face.

Kingston hit the boom drop and set up for the trouble in paradise. Miz avoided the move and attempted the skull crushing finale. Kingston reversed and rolled up Miz for the win.

After the match, Miz jumped Kingston, and the fans chanted, “You suck” at him. He was furious that the fans would do that to him.

In the back, Cathy Kelly interviewed Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Bryan promised to win the Univeral championship and leave the Royal Rumble with the title.

Reigns pointed out he plans on winning the Royal Rumble match, so that means he’ll be facing Bryan at WrestleMania.

They teased having the match, but Bryan told Reigns to be ready for the tag match later. Reigns said only King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler are the ones not ready.

Backstage, Cathy Kelly knocked on The Miz’s locker room door.

John Morrison opened the door making his debut. He got a decent reaction from the fans.

Kelly was surprised to see Morrison and asked about Miz. Morrison noted Miz isn’t talking to anyone right now.

Otis (w/Tucker) defeated Drew Gulak

Before the match, Gulak mocked Otis for getting rejected by Mandy Rose. He noted she should be with someone like Dolph Ziggler or himself. Gulak started showing a powerpoint presentation, but Otis jumped him.

Otis was firmly in control and hit a suplex on Gulak.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville watched the match in the back on the monitor.

Dolph Ziggler joined them, and Rose feels he should apologize to Otis.

Otis dominated the match and hit the caterpillar. He then followed up with the Vader Bomb for the win.

Braun Strowman defeated Cesaro (w/Sami Zayn & Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura)

Corey Graves pointed out that nobody has been able to get their hands on Zayn.

Strowman was firmly in control and hit a big splash in the corner. He then knocked Cesaro off the apron into the barricade.

Back from the break, Cesaro was firmly in control. Nakamura interfered to help Cesaro. Cesaro locked on a sleeper, but Strowman fought back.

Strowman knocked Nakamura off the apron. He ran around ringside, knocking down Cesaro and Nakamura. Zayn rolled under the ring to avoid Strowman.

Cesaro regained control and attempted the neutralizer, but Strowman countered into the power slam for the win.

After the match, Shinsuke Nakamura hit the Kinshasa on Strowman.

Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin & Dolph Ziggler

Corbin jumped Reigns from behind to gain an early advantage. Reigns fired back and hit a Samoan drop. He followed up with the drive-by, but Ziggler caused a distraction, allowing Corbin to take over.

The faces fought back, and Bryan sent the heels to the floor.

Bryan began leading the fans in a Yes chant when the lights started to flicker. Bray Wyatt’s laugh echoed throughout the arena.

Back from the break, Reigns was firmly in control until Corbin hit the Deep Six for a near fall. The heels isolated Reigns in their corner and cut him off from Bryan.

Corbin missed a charge in the corner and Reigns rocked him with a superman punch.

Bryan got the hot tag and ran wild. He rocked Ziggler with kicks in the corner and hit a super hurricanrana.

Bryan hit the Yes Kicks, but Ziggler rolled up Bryan for a two count. Bryan reversed into the Lebell Lock, but Corbin made the save.

Reigns took out Corbin with a spear, but Ziggler hit a superkick on Reigns.

Bryan hit the running knee on Ziggler, but the lights went out.

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt appeared at ringside, and the lights turned red.

Bryan hit a suicide dive on Wyatt, and they briefly brawled around ringside. Wyatt took over and applied the Mandible Claw on Bryan.

The lights came back on, and Wyatt disappeared. Reigns checked on Bryan, but Ziggler and Corbin attacked him.

The heels handcuffed Reigns to the ropes and pulled out dog food.

Suddenly, The Usos music hit, and they made their return.

The Usos rocked Ziggler and Corbin with double superkicks. They freed Reigns, and all three embraced in the ring. The fans broke into a loud “Usos” chant.

Next Week: Lacey Evans goes one-on-one with Sasha Banks.

Reigns & Bryan to face Corbin & Ziggler on WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan will be teaming up on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

Reigns & Bryan vs. Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler has been announced for tonight’s show. It comes after Reigns prevented Corbin from winning last week’s number one contender’s match.

Bryan defeated The Miz and Corbin last week and will challenge “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. Corbin appeared to have the match won due to interference by Dolph Ziggler, but Reigns attacked Corbin and they brawled to the back.

The storyline throughout the show last Friday was that Corbin refused to compete after being attacked by Reigns in the opening segment. A singles match between Bryan vs. Miz began, but it was interrupted by Corbin’s security. Corbin then decided to wrestle when he was told Reigns had been asked to leave the building.

The FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee is hosting tonight’s SmackDown. Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross is also set for the show.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Bryan vs. Miz vs. Corbin

Daniel Bryan is getting another shot at “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

Bryan became the number one contender to Wyatt’s Universal Championship by defeating The Miz and Baron Corbin in a triple threat number one contender’s match on last night’s SmackDown. Bryan will get his title shot at the Royal Rumble on January 26.

The number one contender’s match came down to Bryan vs. Miz after Roman Reigns attacked Corbin and they brawled to the back. Corbin appeared to have the match won due to interference by Dolph Ziggler prior to that.

Reigns also attacked Corbin in the opening segment, and the storyline was that Corbin refused to compete until he thought Reigns was gone from the building.

Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan confirmed for WWE Royal Rumble

Daniel Bryan will have his shot against The Fiend next month.

Bryan won a triple threat match tonight on SmackDown over both King Corbin and The Miz that determined the next challenger for The Fiend’s Universal title.

The match was originally supposed to kick off tonight’s show. However, Roman Reigns interrupted Corbin as he was being carried to the ring and the two ended up in a brawl. Corbin then refused to take part in the match, saying that he was injured.

It was then restarted a second time, this time being a singles match between Miz and Bryan. This ended in a double disqualification when Corbin’s security came to the ring and attacked both men.

By the end of the show, the match had become a triple threat again when Corbin learned that Roman Reigns had been asked to leave the building. However, Reigns came out during the match and took out both Corbin and Dolph Ziggler, who was at ringside. Miz and Bryan continued to wrestle, with Bryan getting the win following a LeBelle lock submission.

Royal Rumble will take place on January 26, 2020 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

WWE Cincinnati live results: The Fiend vs. Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz

Submitted by Gary Martin (Thursday)

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day def. The Revival (Scott Dawson/Curtis Axel) and Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Lince Dorado w/Gran Metalik) in a three-way to retain

Axel substituted for Dash Wilder. From intros to exits, this went 30 minutes and featured good comedy spots early with Dorado and The Revival and then Big E and Dorado. Big E played Ricky Morton at one point with Kofi getting the hot tag.  Kofi pinned Dawson after the Midnight Hour in combination with Big E which got a big pop from the crowd. I can also confirm that the pancakes are made of a rubber-like frisbee material that are extremely safe and light, but not edible.

Elias def. Dolph Ziggler

The crowd greeted Elias as a heel. but he played a song for the locals as an attempt to play babyface. He was interrupted by Ziggler who attacked pre-match. Elias ultimately won with the Drift Away for the lightest crowd reaction of any male match for the evening.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross def. Carmella and Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille in a women’s three way

Alexa pinned Rose after a DDT. This match had the least heat of the evening, but Alexa had a good crowd reaction and thoroughly played the babyface including presenting a young boy with a signed autograph after winning the social media fan of the night contest.

Braun Strowman def. Intercontinental Championship Shinsuke Nakamura (w/Sami Zayn) by DQ

Strowman got a huge pop while Sami and Nakamura got a mixed reaction. Nakamura worked the knee of the big man with kicks. Strowman ultimately got the upper hand but Sami overtly attacked him to draw the only disqualification of the night.

Roman Reigns def. Baron Corbin in a Cincinnati street fight

They kept it very safe and did most of the work in the ring. Corbin’s cardio required some extended rest breaks. It was almost as if this was a dress rehearsal from Friday’s SmackDown match with commercials built in. It still featured still good energy. Corbin had set up a chair in a ring corner early and Reigns set up a table diagonally in another corner. Reigns did a reversal driving Corbin into the chair head first and then speared him through the table to get the pin. Reigns’ exit was one of the most prolonged I have seen that was not a WrestleMania exit.

Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley (w/Sasha Banks) def. Lacey Evans

Evans has continued to improve her ring work and had a chance to execute all of her moves except the Women’s Right. Bayley was working the heel role, dissing young children. Banks had real heel heat, interfering. While she taunted the crowd, Evans did a slide that kicked her into the railing taking her out. Bayley hit her new DDT-type finisher for the pin. They gave these two a lot of time and there were many near falls.

Shorty G def. Cesaro

This was as good as you would imagine as they let them work. There was great chain wrestling, a handshake exchange, and several near falls. Cesaro had the upper hand, but Gable was able to roll him up to get the win. Gable was not over big with the crowd but he seemed appreciative of those who appreciated the great effort these two put on.

Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt def. Daniel Bryan and The Miz in a three-way

Bryan was hugely over with the “Yes” chants. The Miz was greeted as a heel with his full-on Hollywood entrance but was cheered in the match when he mimicked or duplicated Bryan’s move set. The Fiend got a huge reception. They used the red light during the match, but it wasn’t as bad as it looks on TV.  Bryan and The Miz mostly double-teamed Wyatt until they turned on each other. Wyatt took Bryan out and ultimately pinned The Miz after Sister Abigail sending the fans home happy.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Daniel Bryan & The Miz team up

Daniel Bryan & The Miz teamed up on last night’s SmackDown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The main event of the show saw Bryan & Miz face Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler. The match was made after Bryan and Miz were laid out in the opening segment.

Bryan kicked off the show after making his return at TLC. Bryan, Miz, and Corbin all wanted the next shot at the Universal Championship, then Bryan and Miz were ambushed by Ziggler.

Bryan, Miz, and Corbin will face off in a triple threat number one contender’s match next week. The winner will challenge for “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt’s Universal title at the Royal Rumble.

Number one contender’s match set for next week’s WWE SmackDown

A new number one contender to the Universal Championship will be decided on SmackDown next week.

Tonight’s episode of the show ended with the announcement that Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and Baron Corbin will face off in a triple threat number one contender’s match next Friday. The winner will challenge for “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt’s Universal title at the Royal Rumble in Houston, Texas on January 26.

Bryan & Miz defeated Corbin & Dolph Ziggler in the main event of tonight’s SmackDown. The match was set up in the opening segment of the show, with Bryan, Miz, and Corbin all wanting the next shot at the Universal title. Corbin called Bryan and Miz failures as wrestlers and fathers, then Ziggler ambushed Bryan and Miz.

Miz submitted Ziggler with the Figure Four in tonight’s main event.

With Wyatt wrestling as his Firefly Fun House host character instead of The Fiend, he defeated Miz in a non-title match at TLC this past Sunday. There was then a post-match angle where Bryan returned for the first time since being attacked by The Fiend and having clumps of his hair ripped out.

Bryan, who now has a haircut and most of his beard shaved off, saved Miz from being hit with a mallet by Wyatt at TLC.

Next week’s SmackDown is taking place at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. It’s the final SmackDown of 2019.

WWE’s final pay-per-view of the decade took place on Sunday night and exemplified some of the changes we’ve seen over the past 10 years.

TLC 2019 was very much a B-level PPV in the WWE Network era. Not only were the top men’s and women’s singles titles from each brand not defended, there were no singles titles on the line at all. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens and AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton seemed like they were being built up as non-title matches that would help anchor the card, but they didn’t end up getting added. The show even ended with an angle instead of a match. After Asuka & Kairi Sane’s tables, ladders, and chairs match against Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair, a locker room brawl that featured Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin continued. The image that closed the show was Reigns spearing Corbin from an elevated area onto a pile of bodies.

Daniel Bryan returns with updated look at WWE TLC

After two weeks off of television, Daniel Bryan returned with an updated look at TLC.

Bryan made his return in a post-match angle after Bray Wyatt defeated The Miz at tonight’s pay-per-view. The Fiend appeared on the video screen following the match and Wyatt got a giant mallet out from under the ring. The lights started to go down and Wyatt thought The Fiend was there, but Bryan appeared while wearing a hood and laid out Wyatt with a running knee.

It was revealed that Bryan had a short hair cut and a short beard. He looked like he used to look prior to growing them long.

Bryan continued to attack Wyatt. He went to hit him with the mallet, but the lights went out and Wyatt was gone when they came back. Bryan took a long look at Wyatt’s Universal Championship belt and led the fans in a “Yes” chant as he headed to the back.

This was Bryan’s first appearance since being attacked by The Fiend on the November 29 episode of SmackDown. After accepting Wyatt’s challenge for another match, The Fiend dragged Bryan under the ring and ripped out clumps of his hair.

The storyline since has been The Miz trying to get answers about what happened to Bryan. Wyatt wrestled as his Firefly Fun House host character at TLC and the Universal title wasn’t on the line.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Bray Wyatt challenges Daniel Bryan

Despite retaining the Universal Championship at Survivor Series, The Fiend is continuing his feud with Daniel Bryan.

A storyline throughout last night’s SmackDown was whether or not Bryan would accept Bray Wyatt’s challenge for another match. It led to Bryan coming to the ring in the main event segment and accepting Wyatt’s challenge by leading the crowd in a “Yes” chant.

Wyatt then appeared on the video screen. He brought up that he promised a new face in the Firefly Fun House, then The Fiend emerged from the ring and attacked Bryan. He pulled Bryan into the hole in the ring and ripped out clumps of Bryan’s hair.
