Controversial end to Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at TNA Bound For Glory

Two winners emerged from the Call Your Shot gauntlet match at Bound for Glory.

The final two participants in the match were Frankie Kazarian and Nic Nemeth. A referee bump caused a second referee to come in and make a two count. As the original referee recovered, a double pin took place with both men’s shoulders on the mat. Both referees counted three as controversy ensued. After both referees talked to Santino Marella, he announced for the first time ever both Kazarian and Nemeth would be co-winners. The two were given the trophy as they argued to the back. As a result, both men will receive a future championship match of their choosing.

Kazarian originally wasn’t part of the match but took out Jody Threat as she made her way to the ring. After arguing with Santino, he put himself in the match but was taken out by the next entrant, Santino, with the cobra. However Kazarian wasn’t eliminated and returned after Matt Cardona was eliminated, leaving he and Nemeth as the final two participants of the match.

Later backstage, the two winners confronted one another, with Nemeth calling out Kazarian for never winning the TNA World title. Kazarian teased he may become champion later tonight.

The full list of participants included Lei Ying Lee, Mara Sade, Ryan Nemeth, Nic Nemeth, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, AJ Francis, streamer BDE, Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, Dani Luna, Eric Young, Jake Something, Rosemary, Home Town Man, Zack Clayton (with Little Guido), Frankie Kazarian, Santino Marella, Matt Cardona, and Mance Warner.

Call Your Shot gauntlet returning for Impact Bound for Glory

The second annual Call Your Shot gauntlet match will be part of the lineup for Bound for Glory 2020.

Impact Wrestling announced today that the Call Your Shot gauntlet match is returning for this year’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view. The winner of the gauntlet will receive a future title shot at the Impact championship of their choosing.

The full rules for the gauntlet match are:

Two competitors start the match. After a time interval, another will enter the fray. Eliminations occur by throwing your opponent over the top rope. This process will continue until there are only two competitors remaining. The final two will compete in a singles match to be won by pinfall or submission. Whoever scores the victory will earn a future title opportunity of their choosing.
