The Bryan & Vinny Show is back today with NOT Retro Raw and Nitro from 19 years ago this week since we’re keeping bodies in the studio down to a bare minimum with coronavirus concerns.
Instead, we review WCW Greed from, in fact, 19 years ago this week — their final pay-per-view ever. Next week, we’ll tackle WWF No Way Out 2001.
The Bryan & Vinny Show is back today with tons to talk about in our look at AEW and NXT from Wednesday night!
These were two good but not great shows, although NXT’s two cage show was quite baffling in terms of both of those matches. Bryan looks at what those matches and the ratings tell about booking in 2020.
In the past year, our website produced 1100 podcasts over 12 different shows. Thanks to subscriber Philippe Perez and voting on The Board, we present part one of the Best of 2019 podcast series for free, looking at some of the best segments, discussions, bits, and more.
In this two-hour kickoff, we run through #33-#50 with stops at the Bryan & Vinny Show, Filthy Four Daily, Wrestling Observer Radio, and Wrestling Observer Live.

It’s the Super J-Cup edition of the Bryan & Vinny Show!
We all went to an absolutely great show in Tacoma, WA, Thursday with an incredible main event featuring Will Ospreay vs. Amazing Red and we’re here to tell you all about it since you won’t be able to watch it on New Japan World until at least September. We give you an in-depth look at the whole event from start to finish, plus a history of wrestling at the Temple Theatre and so much more.
Our normal Thursday night slate of talking to Granny and recapping WWF Superstars and NXT will happen this Sunday instead.
You can also watch the Tacoma Super J Cup recap at video.f4wonline.com. It’s a fun show as always so check it out~!
After a few years of relative YouTube dormancy (other than people pirating our shows), our YouTube channel has been filling up with daily clips and content from both Wrestling Observer Radio and the Vimeo version of the Bryan & Vinny Show.
That’s why we would like you to subscribe so you don’t miss anything. It’s easy, it’s free, and helps us spread the word about the great audio content you have been listening to for years.
Whether it’s a clip from WOR talking about the launch of AEW or Bryan, Vinny, and G-Raff discussing the WCW Lethal Lottery tournament, we invite you to spend a few more minutes each day with us and these videos.
If you like what you see, try out our Vimeo subscription service where you can watch unlimited full-length Bryan & Vinny episodes, Wrestling Observer Live, and even Filthy Four Daily for just $8/month.
Last month, we announced a separate subscription option that offered on-demand video of the Bryan, Vinny & Craig retro show.
Thanks to your support, that has since expanded to video of all three editions of the Bryan & Vinny show each week. And, if you’ve been interested in trying the service out, we’ve uploaded last Sunday’s NWA World Championship Wrestling review for free on YouTube.
Here’s how Bryan described the episode: “The Bryan & Vinny Show is back today with our look back at NWA World Championship Wrestling from 30 years ago, the late-November 1987 go-home show for Starrcade! We’ll talk all the matches and angles leading to the Ric Flair vs. Ron Garvin show that basically led to the Crocketts having to sell to Ted Turner.”
The B&V video library begins with December’s Christmas show. Subscriptions are $8.00 per month and you can go to video.f4wonline.com for more information.
Courtesy of NXT recapper Arya Witner, enjoy the Best of Bryan & Vinny as they review WCW Monday Nitros from December 1995
As a bonus, this features all four Nitros that month, plus the December 4 Raw that they reviewed instead of the Best Of Impact episode that aired and the main two matches at Starrcade.
Highlights include:
The build (or lack thereof) to Starrcade 95
Four WCW world title matches featuring Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Lex Luger and The Giant
Charles Barkley and Refrigerator Perry on Nitro
The Giant vs Scott Norton
Vince McMahon urging you to invest in the WWF Hotline
1995 WWF silliness, like Make A Difference Fatu, Bob Backlund running for President, Dean Douglas, Brother Love, King Mabel and graffiti covered caskets!
Razor Ramon vs Dean Douglas
What’s more expensive? Shawn Michaels and Diesel life-size cutouts or a Crazzy Steve wall decal?
Shawn Michaels’ Post Concussion Syndrome storyline in 1995 and the seriousness of concussions.
