Nikki Bella: WWE return has been ‘quite lonely’ without twin sister Brie

Nikki Bella is having a great time in her WWE return, but it still feels incomplete without her twin sister Brie by her side.

Ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames, Nikki made an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up to promote her match against Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. It’s a chance for the newly heel Nikki to win her first WWE gold in more than a decade. She hyped this as an intense matchup between women from two different eras who have different mentalities.

Nikki said she’s loved every moment of her return run, which has been an empowering experience for her. But Nikki admitted that it’s been lonely not having Brie Bella by her side.

“You know, it’s actually been quite lonely,” Nikki said about Brie not being there with her. “We both have had our different runs where we’ve been solo, but I think coming into this now as a mom and I feel like I have a very much different mindset. I wish she was there, I really do.

“I think, you know, as a pro athlete you know when you’re coming to the end of what you can give, whether that’s on the field or in the ring. And you start to think of moments that you want to make before it’s all over. And I’ve built not only this legacy with Brie, but this empire with her in and outside of the ring. And so, there’d be nothing more than I would love for her to join me. I think we all know the force the Bella Twins have together. It’s been quite a journey without her, but I hope I can finish it with her.”

The Bella Twins were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame together in the class of 2020. Brie Bella feels like she “definitely” has one more run left in her, but she thinks her husband Bryan Danielson’s association with AEW has been a roadblock toward WWE bringing her back.

Saturday’s PLE is being held in San Diego, where the Bellas are originally from. Get Up host Mike Greenberg asked Nikki if we could see Brie make a surprise appearance at the show.

“I’m not sure, but I always have her on speed dial,” Nikki responded. “So, you never know.”

Survivor Series has a start time of 7 p.m. Eastern on Saturday (November 29), airing live on the ESPN App in the United States and on Netflix elsewhere.

Brie Bella: There’s definitely a last run left in me, ‘wherever it may be’

She doesn’t know how long it will be or which promotion it will be for, but Brie Garcia (Brie Bella) feels like she definitely has one more wrestling run left in her.

A new episode of the Nikki & Brie Show debuted on Thursday with WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins looking ahead to their 42nd birthday. On the podcast, the sisters each listed some of their birthday wishes and things they are hoping to accomplish in the future. Brie said that, despite how busy her life is, she thinks she has more wrestling ahead of her.

“I think there is definitely a last run in me. And I am like, I’m at the age and I’m strong. And I think it’s because I’m working out so hard and I’m feeling good,” Brie said. “But I’m like, there’s for sure a last run in me. But I’m like, you know, wherever it may take me, wherever it may be, I hope it’s with you [Nikki], wherever that is at, who knows? Whether it’s for one night or 200 nights. We’ll see.”

Nikki Bella is currently on a comeback run in WWE, but Brie has not been featured with her so far. Brie believes her husband Bryan Danielson being part of AEW has been a roadblock standing in the way of her return.

This Friday (November 21) is Nikki and Brie’s birthday. Nikki — newly heel in WWE — said one of her wishes is to win the Women’s World Championship from Stephanie Vaquer. They are facing off for the title at Survivor Series on November 29.

Nikki Bella on potential Brie Bella WWE return: ‘All the women want her back’

Nikki Bella has made up with Sports Illustrated, and says all the women in WWE want her sister Brie to return.

During an in-ring promo segment on Raw this week, Nikki Bella complained about Becky Lynch’s frequent mentioning of Sports Illustrated naming her the greatest women’s wrestler of all time, saying “We don’t care what Sports Illustrated says, Becky.”

“The Takedown on SI is happy to report that we’ve squashed our kayfabe beef with the WWE Hall of Famer,” wrote SI.com’s Rich Ucchino.

Nikki continued to say that she’s been pushing WWE for her sister Brie to return to the company.

“I keep pushing it. All the women want her back and they keep asking me every week has that decision changed,” Nikki said.

Last month, Brie Bella noted on an episode of The Nikki & Brie Show that her husband Bryan Danielson working for AEW is a “roadblock” to her potentially returning to WWE. Nikki expressed she doesn’t believe her sister being married to someone from AEW should factor into things.

“I don’t think legacies should be determined on spouses, but I also understand business,” Nikki said.

Nikki added that she believes WWE is starting to come around to the idea, saying:

“I do think [WWE is] becoming more and more open to it. I understand it takes time and we just have to figure things out. There’s so much business to figure out, and Brie and I both completely understand that.”

Nikki’s full interview with Sports Illustrated is available here.

Nikki Bella shares update after suffering displaced breast implant on WWE Raw

Nikki Bella has provided an update after suffering a displaced breast implant on WWE Raw last week.

Bella said the injury occurred when she took an elbow drop from Piper Niven on the July 28 episode, causing the implant to shift toward her ribs. She teamed with Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley, and IYO Sky in a win over Naomi, Chelsea Green, Niven, and Alba Fyre on the show.

“You’re implant okay? I think it’s stuck in your ribs,” Brie said to her sister on Friday’s episode of The Nikki & Brie Show.

Nikkie responded, “I think it is. I had to go to the doctor yesterday to get my tit looked at.”

I didn’t think I’d be here today on my day off in New York City getting my boobs looked at, knowing that my implant, I think, has moved.

“It has moved. It’s moved,” she confirmed.

“Anyone see that heat spot on Monday night? Piper’s elbow drop? Yeah, it’s been hard to laugh and cough but it’s okay, we’re going to get it fixed one day. I told the doctor, I go (I’m) newly divorced, so the minute the boots are hung up, I’m coming back to you, and we’re going to make these girls look real good. Because these girls are going to get some action in the future, and that can’t look like that.”

Nikki gave another update while filming a live episode of The Nikki & Brie Show over SummerSlam weekend, noting that she doesn’t yet know if the implant is still intact.

She said:

“I’ll know later (if it’s okay). I don’t know yet if it exploded or not. It still seems intact. It’s swollen. It hurts, but I think it might be fine. I can’t believe I’m loudly talking about this but hey, it’s 2025, whatever.”

“Send well wishes to my fake boob, thank you.”

Brie Bella says Bryan Danielson’s AEW status is a roadblock to her WWE return

Brie Bella spoke about a “roadblock” preventing her from returning to WWE during a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show.

Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Brie was in discussions with WWE about returning to the company in time for the Evolution PLE. However, Brie later denied those reports, saying WWE had not contacted her, though she now admits she was being a little “cheeky” with those comments.

Brie revealed that her husband Bryan Danielson being with AEW makes some in WWE uncomfortable about her returning.

“When I’ve been on red carpets or in interviews, there’s one question I constantly get asked and it is, ‘When will we see you back in the ring?’ As if I have that power.”

“So I have constantly made the joke, ‘Oh, waiting on the call,’ which in some ways can be true and in some ways I’m just saying something cheeky and sweet so I can get on to the next question.”

Brie continued:

“I know my roadblock is the fact my husband is with the rival company. And for some people, it makes them uncomfortable at WWE thinking I would be there when my husband’s with AEW. And you know what? That’s okay.”

“I’ve kind of looked at that roadblock as people have the right to feel. People feel uncomfortable, they’re uncomfortable. And that’s okay. They have that right. Does it bum me out at times that I wish their feelings were different? Absolutely. But it doesn’t make me angry and it doesn’t make me bitter.”

In a separate interview last week, Danielson noted that Brie wasn’t allowed in the ring to celebrate with him after the main event of WrestleMania 30.

“My sister and my niece got to come into the ring, right? But I was about to marry my wife the following Friday and they wouldn’t let her come down to the ring. They didn’t want her to be in the thing,” Danielson told Sun Sports.

Nikki Bella: WWE comeback won’t be complete until Bella Twins reunite

To promote WWE Evolution, Nikki Bella stopped by “Live with Kelly and Mark” for an appearance on Tuesday morning.

Bella will return to the ring when she competes in the Evolution Battle Royal this Sunday (July 13). So far in her return to WWE, Nikki has been solo without her twin sister Brie by her side. But Nikki told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos this morning that this return to WWE will only be complete once the Bellas reunite.

“Well, she better join me. I mean, it’s the only way I sometimes feel like I can win is if I have her,” Nikki responded when asked if Brie will join her in the ring. “The fans are speaking really loudly — our Bella Army — they really want Brie back. And I really want her back. I feel like this comeback won’t be complete until the Bella Twins are together. So, it’ll be iconic.”

TMZ Sports reported in June that Brie was in talks for a WWE return, though Brie claimed that she had not been contacted by the promotion.

Brie has not wrestled since appearing as an entrant in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble. Nikki returned to WWE earlier this year as a Rumble entrant and is now back for a more extended run. The twin sisters are already WWE Hall of Famers, having been inducted as part of the class of 2020.

A feud between Nikki Bella and Liv Morgan was originally the plan for Evolution. It started to play out on television before Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder, forcing her out of action for months due to the injury requiring surgery.

The Evolution Battle Royal winner earns a women’s championship shot next month at WWE Clash in Paris.

“I’m obsessed with Paris,” Nikki said during today’s talk show appearance. “And so to have a championship match at a really big PLE, it would just be incredible. So, I’ve got to win.”

State Farm Arena in Atlanta is hosting Evolution on Sunday. It’s the first time the all-women’s event has taken place since 2018, when Nikki Bella headlined the inaugural show in a loss to Ronda Rousey.

Brie Bella says WWE hasn’t contacted her about returning: ‘I didn’t change my number’

Brie Bella says WWE hasn’t contacted her about returning.

Brie’s twin sister Nikki Bella returned to the company on the June 9 Raw and appeared to be building an angle with Liv Morgan for Evolution 2 before Morgan was injured. However, Brie told reporters at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday that nobody has called her about coming back.

“I would love to return, but I’m kind of waiting for that call still. Nikki got the call, Brie didn’t,” Brie said to Courtney Tezeno of 15 News. “I didn’t change my number, if you guys wanted to know, it’s still the same.”

Brie Bella’s potential WWE return

Brie’s comments come after it was reported by TMZ that she had been speaking with WWE about returning in time for Evolution 2.

“A source with direct knowledge tells us Nikki’s twin is in talks to unretire and help her sister kick some ass at the promotion’s all-women pay-per-view event, Evolution, next month,” TMZ wrote.

Nikki Bella later teased Brie’s return in an interview with Sports Illustrated. When asked if her sister, who is married to AEW’s Bryan Danielson, is headed back to WWE as well, Nikki responded:

“I’m not going to lie, I mean, I like having my own time but also I can’t do it without my tag partner. And so you never know. As what we love to say in WWE is, you never know what’s going to happen. It keeps us on our toes. But you gotta stay tuned.”

Evolution 2 plans change

Plans regarding the all-female PLE scheduled for July 13 will have to change following Morgan suffering a shoulder injury on Raw this week. Dave Meltzer addressed the situation in Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“The Evolution show has to be redone due to Liv Morgan’s injury and the entire card is up in the air,” he wrote.

Meltzer later added that Nikki was at Raw on Monday and scheduled to do a run-in during Morgan’s match with Kairi Sane on the show.

“Morgan vs. Nikki Bella or the Bellas vs. Morgan & Rodriguez for the tag titles was scheduled for the 7/13 Evolution show and obviously that’s out of the picture.”

“Nikki Bella was advertised all week for the show and didn’t appear on it. She was there and was scheduled to do a run-in for the finish of Sane vs. Morgan to help set up the match, but with the injury, the decision was made not to use her for a promo after.”

Nikki Bella on potential Brie Bella WWE return: ‘Stay tuned’

Nikki Bella teased that her twin sister could be returning to WWE during a recent interview.

Nikki appeared on Raw last week to promote the Evolution 2 pay-per-view, which takes place on July 13. During the segment, she was confronted by Liv Morgan, who took offense to not being mentioned when Nikki listed off some of the top women in the division. The segment ended with Morgan hitting Nikki with an ObLIVion.

On Thursday, TMZ reported that Brie Bella is in talks to return to WWE ahead of Evolution 2 as well. However, it’s unclear if she’s expected to wrestle on the show.

Nikki was asked about Brie during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated. While she didn’t give much away, she told fans to “stay tuned.”

“That’s definitely what I’m hoping to see,” Nikki answered when asked about Brie potentially returning. “I’m not going to lie, I mean, I like having my own time but also I can’t do it without my tag partner. And so you never know. As what we love to say in WWE is, you never know what’s going to happen. It keeps us on our toes. But you gotta stay tuned.”

Brie hasn’t wrestled since the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. She didn’t compete at the first Evolution event but was in her sister’s corner for Nikki’s match against Ronda Rousey.

Nikki revealed recently that she’ll be in Green Bay for Monday’s episode of Raw.

Earlier in the interview, Nikki reflected on headlining the original Evolution show:

“Main eventing the first one, it meant so much then because of how far us women have come and what we were fighting for at that time. I meant every word I said on Monday Night Raw of how proud I am. And I know I could speak on behalf of all the women from the past, to see where the women have taken the division in the past six years, it’s unreal. And this is why this Evolution is so important and so epic, because we see what the women are doing, whether it’s on the PLEs or on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown. They’re killing it.”

Nikki’s full interview with Sports Illustrated is available below:

Report: Brie Bella in talks for WWE return

Nikki Bella might have her sister by her side when she competes at WWE Evolution next month.

TMZ Sports reported today that Brie Bella is in talks with WWE for a return ahead of the all-women’s Evolution PLE, which is being held in Atlanta on Sunday, July 13. The report says it’s unclear if Brie will be competing in the ring at the show. If she does wrestle, it would be her first match since appearing in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble. Her last match prior to that was in 2018.

“A source with direct knowledge tells us Nikki’s twin is in talks to unretire and help her sister kick some ass at the promotion’s all-women pay-per-view event, Evolution, next month,” TMZ wrote.

On Raw earlier this week, a feud between Nikki Bella and Liv Morgan began on the road to Evolution. Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, making them logical opponents if Brie does wrestle at the PLE. The Bellas have never competed for the Women’s Tag Team titles before.

TMZ furthered the storyline between Nikki and Morgan by claiming that Brie is “pissed” at Morgan for referencing Nikki’s divorce from Artem Chigvintsev. During their segment on Monday’s show, Morgan said she has everything Nikki doesn’t — respect, a championship, and a man. The angle led to Morgan laying out Nikki with Oblivion.

“We’re told Brie is pissed about Morgan referencing Nikki’s highly publicized split from Artem Chigvintsev — who was arrested for domestic violence in August 2024, resulting in the couple’s divorce a month later,” the report said.

The Bellas Twins are WWE Hall of Famers, having been inducted as part of the class of 2020. An appearance by Nikki has been confirmed for next Monday’s Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Evolution is one of three WWE events happening in Atlanta on the weekend of July 12-13 with the city also set to host NXT Great American Bash and WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Nikki Bella: John Cena’s WWE heel turn is like a gift to the fans

Nikki Bella thinks turning heel is John Cena’s way of giving the fans a gift before he retires.

While speaking with Women’s Wrestling Talk at the Los Angeles premiere of “Queen of the Ring,” Nikki & Brie Bella gave their thoughts on Cena’s turn. Both said it was done well — and they’re happy to see Cena go down this road on his retirement tour.

“About time,” Brie said. “I’m actually really happy, because this is his farewell year and I didn’t know if he would give in or not, and so I love it. And the way it was done — I mean, right, chef’s kiss.”

“It was done so well,” Nikki added. “And I think to end your farewell tour and turn into a character that the fans have wanted for so long. It’s not only I think going to be fun for him, but how great for the fans. It’s like a gift he’s giving, you know what I mean? And I think it’s so cool. It was amazing too.”

Cena’s heel turn kickstarted the build to WrestleMania 41, where he will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. WWE’s Elimination Chamber PLE ended with Cena, The Rock, and rapper Travis Scott beating down Rhodes after Cena won the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

This is the last WrestleMania that Cena will ever compete at. His retirement tour is set to conclude with him having his final match in December 2025.

Cena and Nikki Bella were once engaged but ended their relationship in 2018 before ever getting married.

Nikki returned to WWE in the women’s Royal Rumble last month for her first match in three years. She’s indicated that we’ll see her back again soon, and Women’s Wrestling Talk asked Brie if we could see her join Nikki for a Bella Twins reunion.

“I mean, I always say never say never,” Brie responded. “That’s the most fun about pro wrestling, is that I feel like there’s always different things that are happening. You know, you do have some big pay-per-views around the corner that there’s always fun surprises. So, you never know. You never know.”

Brie Bella confirms mother Kathy Colace’s divorce from John Laurinaitis

Kathy Colace has divorced John Laurinaitis.

Laurinaitis and Colace (mother of Nikki & Brie Garcia, FKA the Bella Twins) were married in 2016 after becoming engaged the previous year. In January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Laurinaitis, as well as WWE and Vince McMahon, alleging misconduct, including claims of sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Laurinaitis was officially let go from WWE in August 2022, amid the lawsuit, after being with the company for 21 years.

Colace was a guest on a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show and Brie confirmed that her mother is no longer married.

“Is it fine to tell everyone that you’re divorced?” Brie asked Colace on the show. “She’s not ‘single ready to mingle’ by no means. She is, I feel like, enjoying her independent time. But people, I think, are curious just to know where you’re at.”

Colace responded:

“I’ll tell you how the experience is from someone that goes through it. You need time, you need silence. And this goes for anyone, we all have our stories, we all have our challenges. So, my thought is this, let yourself feel every emotion because one day life is fine and the next day you’re hit with something that just rocks your world.”

“As a person going through it, you need to feel anger and heartbreak and sadness and recovery. Our body is made to feel emotion and when you tuck an emotion away, it will find its way out. So my recommendation to anyone going through anything challenging: Give yourself some grace, allow yourself to feel all the emotions that you will feel, and sit in silence and appreciate yourself because you will get through this. And if you need outside help to get through it, seek outside help.”

Earlier this year, Brie’s husband Bryan Danielson hinted at Laurinaitis and Colace’s separation during an interview with Gorilla Position. When asked about the allegations against McMahon and Laurinaitis, he responded

“There’s not a lot I want to say about it, honestly, other than — because it’s not just the Vince piece, it’s also my father-in-law, maybe ex-father-in-law, as far as that kind of stuff goes. It’s just, you know, you think of somebody in some way, and then something happens and it changes. And that’s always hard.”

Brie Bella: Bryan Danielson winning AEW title in front of his kids would be ‘badass’

WWE Hall of Famer Brie Danielson, FKA Brie Bella, spoke to Renee Paquette about her husband Bryan Danielson’s upcoming career vs. title match at AEW All In.

Brie says that she has mixed emotions about Sunday’s pay-per-view. She confirmed that she and the couple’s two kids, Birdie and Buddy, will be ringside for Danielson’s match against Swerve Strickland. Brie thinks it would be great for her kids to see their father become a champion, but also sees the physical toll wrestling takes on him.

“We joke, ‘Oh, we’re getting old and the aches and the pains’ but I’m also like, Bryan, at 43 years old you shouldn’t be feeling this much pain, and that’s where I get worried. And I will say, compared to a lot of people, my husband takes such great care of his body. He does so many things outside of the ring to make sure he’s in the best shape he can be, he feels good, but at the same time, I do see his body breaking down.”

“When he’s feeling these aches and pains and it’s hard for him to play with his kids, that’s when you start to think, ‘Should (he) be doing this anymore?'”

“I don’t know which way I’ll be cheering because it’s like yes, I’ve always wanted my husband to be home more but at the same time, I’ve been with him and all we’ve ever known together is wrestling and I don’t know if I want to see that end for him.”

Brie continued to say that her husband has felt fulfilled with the last three years of his career. She remembers when Danielson was frustrated that his ideas weren’t being heard, but now that he’s in AEW, that’s no longer the case.

“It’s just been incredible the last three years to watch him. I loved watching him before but I truly have felt Bryan here and I see the excitement. I was with him when he was frustrated, when he felt like he wasn’t being heard and he’s been nothing but heard here and he’s done everything that he’s wanted to do,” Brie continued.

“One thing I told Bryan is we all flew out here because we’re not hoping this is your last match. We all know your journey is coming to an end but it doesn’t have to come to an end tonight so when you go out there fight hard, fight so hard because I think it would be pretty badass for your kids to see you become a champion.”

Nikki Garcia says former Bella Twins ‘are not going to AEW’

Nikki & Brie Garcia are not going to AEW.

In the wake of yesterday’s news that the former Bella Twins have left WWE, Nikki Garcia revealed today that the sisters will not be signing with AEW.

During an Instagram Live chat on Wednesday, Nikki addressed having been backstage at an AEW event recently.

Nikki said:

We are not going to AEW. I know, I’ve seen a lot of that because, I think, we were just there visiting Renee and Paige.

She continued to explain that they were also backstage at the show so Nikki’s son could see her uncle, AEW’s Bryan Danielson.

Nikki continued:

I was like, I haven’t had the opportunity to take Matteo backstage to a wrestling event and when he knew uncle Bryan was going to be there, Matteo loves his uncle Bryan, Brie and I were like, we have to go see Bryan. The kids had so much fun.

A social media exchange with Britt Baker may have also led to speculation regarding the Garcia Twins and AEW.

Nikki and Brie were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020, although the ceremony was delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both are former Divas Champions, with Nikki having held the title twice and Brie once. Nikki is currently serving as host of the show Barmageddon along with Blake Shelton and Carson Daly.
