UFC on ESPN+ 87 live results: Grant Dawson vs. Bobby Green

After a week off, UFC action is back for the first of three October events, with UFC On ESPN+ 87: Dawson vs. Green taking place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the main event, rising lightweight contender Grant Dawson looks to remain undefeated inside the UFC Octagon when he takes on tough veteran Bobby Green over five rounds. Dawson has yet to taste defeat in his nine UFC outings, and just once in his 22 career fights. Green will be looking to score his second straight win.

In the co-main event, a pair of middleweight sluggers square off in an exciting match-up as Joe Pyfer battles Abdul Razak Alhassan. Also on the main card is a welterweight bout between Alex Morono and Joaquin Buckley, a lightweight bout pitting Drew Dober against Ricky Glenn, and a featherweight bout between Alexander Hernandez and Bill Algeo.

Aoriqileng lands a leg kick. He lands another. Aoriqileng lands a big right hand. Munoz lands a right hand and Aoriqileng stumbles back. They clinch against the fence. Munoz gets a trip takedown. They get to their feet and Munoz trips it back down, but they pop right up and Munoz still has pressure. Munoz gets the back and drags it back to the mat. Munoz is working for a choke but grabs the arm and looks for an armbar but Aoriqileng escapes and lands a right hand before the end. 10-9 Munoz.

Aoriqileng lands a right hand and is pressuring as he gets the back. Munoz rolls to the mat to try and escape trouble but it allows Aoriqileng to get on top. Munoz is looking for a triangle choke and an armbar on the bottom as Aoriqileng is pressuring from the top and is able to escape. Aoriqileng gets to his feet and lands some leg kicks as Munoz is on his back. Aoriqileng lands a right hand as he goes back on top, but he quickly returns to his feet. They get to their feet and Munoz lands a right hand. They had a clash of heads that cut Munoz open. Munoz shoots for a takedown and has the body lock against the fence. Murata lands a leg kick. She lands a body kick. They clinch against the fence and Demopoulos lands some knees. They trade knees as they battle for position. Murata gets a takedown but not a lot of action is happening. They get to their feet. Demopoulos lands a left hand then a right hand and Murata falls down briefly. Murata gets another takedown but Demopoulos is attacking the arm and landing from the bottom. 10-9 Murata.

Demopoulos comes forward and lands a right hand and a high kick. They tie up and Demopoulos lands a knee. Murata gets it down. Demopoulos throws up her legs as Murata is landing to the body. Demopoulos is complaining about something on the mat. Murata is staying on top but not doing much as Demopoulos is landing from the bottom. Murata now lands from the top and looks to pass guard. Demopoulos tries to break the posture and lands some elbows from the bottom. Murata ends the round on top. 10-9 Murata, 20-18 Murata.

Demopoulos lands a body kick as she’s pressuring. Murata lands a pair of big right hands as Demopoulos is on her back following a takedown. Murata gets into Demopoulos’ guard. Demopoulos lands some hammerfists from the bottom. Demopoulos is looking for an armbar from the bottom. Murata lands from the top and Demopoulos closes her guard. They trade on the mat. Mendonca looks for an early takedown and briefly gets it but Maness is using the whizzer to keep his hips and get right back up. Maness lands a lot as Mendonca has ahold of him. Mendonca goes to the mat and is looking for a leg. They scramble back to their feet as Mendonca is still looking for a takedown against the fence. Mendonca drops down and rolls for the leg but Maness is smashing him with left hands. Mendonca is trying for a leg lock. Maness is landing hammerfists to the body. Maness is landing lots of punches and Mendonca looked out but woke back up. Maness continues to pour it on and it gets stopped. Great showing from Maness!

Dober lands some leg kicks and left hands early. He connects with a nice left hand and Glenn is on the retreat. Dober hurts Glenn with a left hand and Glenn goes to the mat. Dober is on top and Glenn grabs his glove, so they stand. Dober lands a left hand then drops Glenn with another left hand and is landing from the top until it is stopped. This was an absolute mauling from Dober.

Buckley comes rushing out and lands and they clip each other before they both calm down and back up. Buckley lands a leg kick. Morono lands a right hand to the body and Buckley fires back with some hard shots that hurt Morono. Buckley gets a takedown and Morono looks to lock in an armbar but Buckley escapes. They get back to their feet. Morono grabs the neck and tries for a guillotine choke as Buckley slams him down as the round ends. 10-9 Buckley.

Buckley lands a head kick. They trade inside the pocket. Buckley is pressing forward as both are throwing but neither is actually landing. Buckley lands a hard body kick. Buckley lands a left hand and a body kick. Morono lands a leg kick. Buckley lands a combo ending with a nice left hand. Buckley grabs the body lock and pushes it against the fence. They break at the end. 10-9 Buckley, 20-18 Buckley.

Buckley lands a flurry to start the third and splits Morono’s mouth open with a left hook. Buckley just misses a head kick. Buckley lands a body kick and he’s landing with more volume in the round. Buckley lands a left hand and an uppercut as he’s teeing off on Morono. Morono is circling around but he’s hurting. Morono is able to get a takedown but they get right up and Buckley lands a left hand. Buckley lands a right hook and starts to land a flurry. Morono is gassed out. Buckley lands a big right hand. Buckley gets a takedown and lands some right hands from the top. Buckley still working from the top before they stand. Pyfer gets an immediate takedown but they pop right back up. Pyfer had a standing arm-triangle locked in but Alhassan escapes. They break. Pyfer lands a body kick and Alhassan returns fire with one. Pyfer lands a combo. Pyfer gets a big slam takedown. Alhassan has the neck and is looking for a guillotine choke. Pyfer escapes and they scramble up. Alhassan lands a pair of body kicks. Alhassan lands a leg kick. Pyfer lands a big right hand. Pyfer lands a big combination. Pyfer lands a big combination and a knee. 10-9 Pyfer.

They trade right hands and Pyfer gets the body lock. Alhassan lands a nice leg kick. Pyfer gets a takedown and is looking for the arm-triangle choke. He has it locked in and it looked like Alhassan tapped but he ends up going to sleep anyways. Fantastic win for Pyfer.

Welcome to F4WOnline.com’s live coverage of UFC On ESPN+ 60: Makhachev vs. Green, emanating from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Octagon remains inside its home base of the UFC APEX in Las Vegas for another week of fights this time with a main event featuring a fighter looking to get himself a title shot against a late-notice veteran in his well-deserved first UFC main event.

Fourth-ranked lightweight Islam Makhachev puts his nine-fight win streak on the line against veteran Bobby Green, stepping in on ten days’ notice, in what will be a 160-pound catchweight main event. Makhachev was slated to fight Beneil Dariush in this bout, but an ankle injury forced Dariush out, and Green, who just fought at UFC 271 on February 12, stepped in for his much anticipated first headline fight. Makhachev could be next in line for a title shot with a win here.

Also on the main card is a middleweight bout pitting Misha Cirkunov against Wellington Turman, a women’s flyweight bout between Ji Yeon Kim and Priscila Cachoeira, a lightweight bout between ranked contender Arman Tsarukyan and Joel Alvarez, and a middleweight bout as the debuting Armen Petrosyan battles Gregory Rodrigues.

Brahimaj ducks under a Gillmore right hand and gets a powerful takedown as Gillmore was being warned about grabbing the fence. Brahimaj gets the back. He’s trying to find the hooks and get his arm under the neck of Gillmore. He’s got pressure on the chin as he works for a choke. Gillmore struggling to hang on. He gets out but Brahimaj is in full mount. Brahimaj gets the back again and has the rear-naked choke locked in and Gillmore taps! This was a mauling by Brahimaj.

Martinez with a high body kick to start. Perez throws some leg kicks but Martinez with some head and high kicks. Perez with a leg kick and Martinez checks it. Martinez with a head kick that Perez blocks. Martinez with a couple of high kicks. Martinez with another high kick. Perez with a leg kick and Martinez checks it again. Perez lands a right hand. Martinez with a body kick. Martinez with more high kicks. Martinez lands a high kick and Perez catches it and eats some punches from Martinez before he lets go. Martinez with more high kicks and lands some shots. Perez drops Martinez at the horn with a right hand. 10-9 Martinez.

McKinney goes for a takedown and they scramble and McKinney ends up in the guard of Ziam. McKinney passes guard into side control. He moves to the half-guard and lands some right hands to the body. McKinney lands some left hands from the top. McKinney tries to take the back but ends up in the mount. Ziam gives up his back and McKinney has a rear-naked choke on but not fully locked in. Even though, Ziam ends up tapping! What a performance from McKinney.

> Women’s Bantamweights- Josiane Nunes (8-1, 1-0 UFC) vs. Ramona Pascual (6-2, 0-0 UFC)

They’re trading punches inside the pocket with both landing some good punches. Pascual with a body kick. Nunes landing some big punches inside the pocket and Pascual eating them well. Nunes drops Pascual with a left hand. Pascual gets up and they’re both landing and Nunes lands a knee that puts Pascual on the floor for a moment. Nunes landing some good shots as Pascual is backing up and then Pascual gets a takedown. Nunes landing some elbows. Pascual switches and Nunes has a reverse triangle but time runs out. 10-9 Nunes.

Nunes landing some punches as she’s coming forward and Nunes drops Pascual again but Pascual gets right up. Nunes still landing and Pascual goes for a takedown but Nunes gets the back and lands some elbows and punches. They get back to their feet. Nunes lands a left hand.
