UFC on ESPN 58 live results: Alex Perez vs. Tatsuro Taira

After a tumultuous week outside of the Octagon that saw changes to the main events of their next two shows, action inside the Octagon returns to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC on ESPN 58.

The main event is a battle of flyweight contenders as Alex Perez makes a quick turnaround, fighting for the third time in just over four months, when he takes on undefeated Tatsuro Taira. Perez is coming off a second-round knockout of Matheus Nicolau in an April main event while Taira looks to add to the 15-fight win streak that has spanned his entire career.

In other main card fights, Douglas Silva de Andrade battles Miles Johns in bantamweight action; Timmy Cuamba takes on Lucas Almeida in a featherweight bout; flyweights Asu Almabayev and Jose Johnson square off; and Josh Quinlan takes on Adam Fugitt in a welterweight bout.

Knutsson with a right hand. Knutsson with a big flurry then lands several knees. Knutsson with a head kick. Knutsson with a combo ending with a leg kick. Knutsson with more front kicks, including one that lands to the face of Polastri. Knutsson with a combo and another front push kick to the body. Knutsson lands a combo. Knutsson with a body kick. Polastri gets a takedown right into the mount and lands a bunch of shots from the top to end the round. 10-9 Knutsson.

Nuerdanbieke lands a right hand and Costa lands a counter left hand. Nuerdanbieke grabs a single leg and scores a takedown. Nuerdanbieke controlling from the top but not a ton of action going on. Costa tries to sweep but Nuerdanbieke keeps him down to get back control before they stand. Nuerdanbieke gets it back down. Costa is able to scramble to take the back of Nuerdanbieke. Nuerdanbieke then gets the leg and locks in a kneebar. Costa gets to his feet but Nuerdanbieke still has the leg. Nuerdanbieke gets to his feet. Nuerdanbieke gets it back down and works inside the guard of Costa, landing a pair of right hands. Costa with an elbow that was to the back of the head. 10-9 Nuerdanbieke.

They get to their feet as Nuerdanbieke still has back control. Costa gets it down in side control against the fence and lands a knee to the body. Saragih comes forward and starts throwing and lands some. Wilson looking for a takedown against the fence. Saragih defends and they separate. Wilson gets a takedown. He looks for a guillotine choke. Saragih gets out and tries to slam his way out from an armbar attempt. Wilson has a triangle choke locked in and Saragih taps! Great finish from Wilson to pick up his first UFC win.

Judice with a pair of leg kicks. Fernandes lands a left hand and they trade in close range. Both connect with solid punches as Fernandes lands a hard left hand. Fernandes lands a right hand and follows with a strong left hand. Fernandes grabs a leg and pushes it against the fence. They trade as they separate. Judice lands a right hand. Judice lands a combination. Judice with a combination and lands a spin kick. Judice with a knee then a right hand. Fernandes lands a left hand. Judice with another knee followed by a left hand. UFC on ESPN 55 live results: Matheus Nicolau vs. Alex Perez

After a week off following the historic UFC 300, action inside the Octagon is back with UFC on ESPN 55 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Headlining is a five-round battle between top ten flyweights as Matheus Nicolau and Alex Perez both look to get back into the win column. Nicolau is in his first UFC main event while Perez takes this fight on short notice as an injury replacement for Manel Kape. Perez is looking to end his three-fight losing skid.

Also on the main card is a light heavyweight battle between Ryan Spann and Bogdan Guskov; a women’s flyweight fight with win streaks on the line between Ariane Lipski and Karine Silva; a heavyweight bout pitting Austen Lane against the debuting Jhonata Diniz; and a featherweight bout between Jonathan Pearce and David Onama.

Two title fights headline the UFC’s November pay-per-view event as the Octagon remains in its home base in Las Vegas as the flyweights take center stage.

UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo makes his first title defense of the 125-pound title when he welcomes the challenge of Alex Perez in the main event. Figueiredo defeated Joseph Benavidez to become the champion in July, and he was scheduled to defend against Cody Garbrandt, but he had to pull out due to injury. In steps Perez, winner of three straight fights and the first alumnus of the Contender Series to get a UFC title shot.

In the co-main event, UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko looks to continue her reign of dominance when she defends against Jennifer Maia. Shevchenko is coming off a successful title defense over Katlyn Chookagian in February, while Maia gets a title shot on the heels of a submission win over Joanne Calderwood in August.

Also on the main card is a welterweight bout with potential fireworks as Mike Perry battles Tim Means, a women’s flyweight bout between Katlyn Chookagian and Cynthia Calvillo, and the opener sees Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and Paul Craig square off in a rematch after they fought to a draw in their first fight one year ago.

Among the fights on the preliminary card is a potential flyweight title eliminator bout between Brandon Moreno and Brandon Royval, and viral knockout sensation Joaquin Buckley looks to go viral again when he takes on Jordan Wright in a middleweight bout.

Cosce grabbed a foot off a kick and Palatnikov tried to roll out and Cosce got the back and was landing a lot of punches and Palatnikov was in trouble but the separated. Cosce kept landing lots of punches standing and dropped Palatnikov and Cosce got on top and was landing punches. Palatnikov was able to get to his feet and both were swinging. Cosce landing some big punches and they clinched and Palatnikov landed a huge elbow. Palatnikov got a takedown but they stood and Palatnikov was landing some hard punches. They broke and both are tired. Cosce lands a combo. They clinch and Palatnikov lands some strikes and then lands a spinning back fist and a combo on Cosce. They clinch against the fence and Palatnikov lands a knee to the body and some body punches. They break and Palatnikov with a body kick and Cosce with a high kick. They clinch and Cosce lands a knee that hits the cup and we have another timeout. They get back to action and Palatnikov stuns Cosce with a right hand. Cosce tries a desperation takedown but Palatnikov defends and starts landing a barrage of punches on the ground until the fight is stopped.
