AEW Rampage ratings up slightly following record low

Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage averaged 255,000 viewers on TNT, up 14.9% from the previous week’s record low. It’s the second lowest audience the show has ever done.

Rampage averaged a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 12.5% from last week but ties the second lowest rating the show has done in that category since April 12th.

For the second straight week, the show aired three hours earlier due to TNT’s coverage of other sports. Last week it was the NBA, and this week it was the NHL.

As compared to the same week in 2023, when the show aired in its normal time slot, the overall viewership was down 28.6% while the 18-49 rating was down 25%.

AEW Rampage draws record low viewership with shift to earlier time slot

The Friday, May 24 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 222,000 viewers on TNT, the lowest number in the history of the show. It’s down 43.2 percent from the previous week when Rampage aired on Saturday following Collision.

Though Rampage was back to its normal day on Friday, it still aired outside of its normal time slot. Due to TNT’s NBA coverage, the episode began at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Still, Rampage has aired at this time and even earlier when pre-empted before. The previous low was November 25 of last year when Rampage averaged 264,000 viewers, airing at the same time but on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.

In the 18-49 demo, Rampage drew a 0.08 rating, down 38.5 percent from last week. That’s tied for the third-lowest rating Rampage has ever done in that category.

As compared to the same week in 2023, when the show aired in its regular time slot, Rampage’s overall viewership was down 49.1 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 27.3 percent.

AEW Collision ratings drop with move to TBS, Rampage down

– Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision averaged 378,000 viewers on TBS, down 39.1 percent from when the show last aired two weeks ago (on its regular station TNT). It’s the lowest audience total Collision has drawn since January 27 and is the lowest the show has ever done on a day where there wasn’t also a WWE PLE.

Collision drew a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 42.9 percent from the most recent airing. It’s the show’s lowest rating in that category since March 30.

In addition to airing on a different station than usual, Collision went head-to-head with an NBA playoff game on ABC that averaged 5.6 million viewers. An NHL playoff game on TNT that did 1.54 million viewers also went against the show, along with MLB on Fox at 1.55 million viewers and the UFC on ESPN which averaged 903,000 viewers.

– AEW Rampage, which immediately followed Collision, averaged 342,000 viewers. That’s down 20.7 percent from last week when Rampage followed Dynamite on Wednesday but up 16.7 percent from two weeks ago when it aired after Collision.

Rampage drew a 0.11 rating in 18-49, down 26.7 percent from last week but up 22.2 percent from two weeks ago.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was up 20.4 percent in total viewers and up 57.1 percent in 18-49. The show last year also aired on a Saturday night in the same time slot but did not have the benefit of a wrestling lead-in.

AEW Dynamite ratings increase slightly, Rampage up

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite averaged 703,000 viewers on TBS, up 2.9 percent from last week. It’s the second-lowest audience total the show has done since October 23, 2021.

Dynamite drew a 0.24 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 4.4 percent from last week and is the third-highest rating the show has done in that category since March 20.

Last week’s Dynamite aired live on the West Coast, outside of prime time, while this episode aired in its regular time slot across the country. It did have competition from the NBA and NHL playoffs again.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 9.4 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 14.3 percent.

AEW Rampage, which immediately followed Dynamite, averaged 431,000 viewers.

That’s up 47.1 percent from last week’s episode that aired on Saturday after Collision. The last time Rampage aired following Dynamite, the show averaged 541,000 viewers on March 20th, so this was down 20.3 percent from that.

Rampage drew a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 66.7 percent from last week but is down 16.7 percent from the last Wednesday airing.

As compared to the same week in 2023, when the show aired during a Friday afternoon, Rampage’s overall viewership was up 46.6 percent while the 18-49 rating was up 66.7 percent.

NBA playoff lead-in boosts AEW Collision to best ratings of 2024

Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision, which had the benefit of a lead-in from the NBA playoffs, averaged 621,000 viewers on TNT. That’s up 34.7 percent from the previous week and is the largest audience total Collision has done since July 29 of last year. 

Collision drew a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 61.5 percent from last week. It’s also the best rating the show has done in that category since July 29 and is the third-highest rating Collision has drawn in its history.

With the lead-in from the NBA, the first 10 minutes of Collision drew a 0.49 rating in 18-49.

AEW Rampage, which aired immediately after Collision, averaged 293,000 viewers. That’s down 26.2 percent from last week, when it followed a Collision episode that averaged far less viewers. This Rampage did start a half hour later, however.

Rampaged drew a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 30.8 percent from last week.

The overall audience is Rampage’s second lowest of 2024 to date, while the 18-49 rating is tied for Rampage’s third-lowest rating of the year in that category.

This week, Rampage will again be airing outside of its normal Friday time slot. There will be a live episode of the show after Dynamite on Wednesday.

AEW Collision ratings steady, Rampage up

– Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision averaged 461,000 viewers on TNT, down 1.5 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience total the show has done since March 30.

Collision drew a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s the same rating the show did in that category last week. It’s tied for Collision’s third-highest number of 2024 so far. 

– AEW Rampage, which aired a live episode immediately after Collision on Saturday, was up from what it’s been doing recently on Friday nights. Rampage averaged 397,000 viewers, up 34.6 percent from last week. It’s the third-largest audience the show has done in 2024. One of those higher viewership totals was when Rampage aired after Dynamite on a Wednesday.

Rampage also drew a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo. That ties its fourth-highest rating of the year to date.

As compared to the same week in 2023, when the show aired in its regular time slot, Rampage’s overall audience was up seven percent while the 18-49 rating was up 8.3 percent.

Rampage will again air live on Saturday after Collision this week. TNT has NHL playoff coverage during Rampage’s normal time slot this Friday.

AEW Rampage viewership up, 18-49 demo rating matches record low

The Friday, April 12 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 295,000 viewers on TNT, up 10.5 percent from last week. It’s the second-lowest viewership total the show has done so far in 2024.

Rampage drew a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is the same number the show did last week. It matches the lowest rating Rampage has ever drawn in its regular time slot.

The 18-49 rating stayed the same despite this Rampage episode facing lesser competition. The April 5 edition of the show went up against the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, ROH Supercard of Honor, and a huge NCAA March Madness women’s basketball game.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was down 53.8 percent in overall viewers and down 61.9 percent in 18-49, though the comparison isn’t fair because that episode had an NBA postseason game as its lead-in.

Due to TNT’s NBA coverage, Rampage won’t air on Friday this week. There will instead be a live Rampage episode this Saturday after AEW Collision.

AEW Rampage draws lowest ratings of 2024

The Friday, April 5 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 267,000 viewers on TNT, down 23.7 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since November 25 of last year.

Rampage drew a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 27.3 percent from last week and matches the lowest rating the show has ever done in its regular time slot. The only two lower rated episodes were in 2023 on a Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern and a Friday when the show was moved to the afternoon. Rampage did a 0.07 rating on both of those occasions.

The show faced competition from the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and ROH Supercard of Honor on Friday night. It also went against a massive NCAA women’s March Madness basketball game between Iowa and UConn.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage’s overall audience was down 46.9 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 52.9 percent.

AEW Rampage viewership up from previous Friday airing

The Friday, March 29 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 350,000 viewers on TNT, up seven percent from the previous Friday night airing of the show two weeks earlier. It was down 35 percent from the live Rampage episode that aired after Dynamite on March 20 (Rampage moved days that week due to NCAA March Madness coverage).

Rampage went up against competition from the Sweet 16 round of March Madness on Friday. The episode drew a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down from the 0.18 rating the show did following Dynamite but is the same rating as two weeks ago when Rampage last aired in its regular time slot.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was up 2.9 percent in overall viewers and up 10 percent in 18-49. It’s the fourth time in the last eight weeks that Rampage has had an increase in both categories year-over-year.

AEW Dynamite ratings steady, Rampage up big

– Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 800,000 viewers on TBS, essentially the exact same as the 798,000 viewers Dynamite Big Business did last week. It’s the third-lowest audience total for the show so far in 2024.

Dynamite drew the same 0.27 rating in the 18-49 demo that it did the previous two weeks. It ties the third-lowest rating Dynamite has done in that category for the year to date.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Dynamite was down 16.1 percent in overall viewers and down 18.2 percent in 18-49. 

– AEW Rampage, which aired immediately after Dynamite on TBS this week, averaged 541,000 viewers. That’s up 65.4 percent from what it did last Friday in its regular time slot and is Rampage’s largest viewership since April 14 of last year.

Rampage drew a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 63.6 percent from last week and is also Rampage’s highest rating since the April 14, 2023 episode.

Rampage aired outside of its normal day this week due to NCAA March Madness coverage.

As compared to the same week in 2023, when it was moved to a Saturday night, Rampage’s overall audience was up 45 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 80 percent.

The Friday, March 15 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 327,000 viewers on TNT, down 10.2 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since February 16 and is Rampage’s third-lowest viewership of the year to date. 

Rampage drew a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 15.4 percent from last week but ties the second-highest rating the show has done in that category since February 9.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was down 31 percent in total viewers and down 38.9 percent in the 18-49 demo. That episode last year had the benefit of a lead-in from the NCAA March Madness tournament, which gave Rampage an above average audience at the time.

This week, Rampage is airing outside of its normal day due to March Madness coverage. The show will be broadcast live on TBS after AEW Dynamite this Wednesday.

The Friday, March 8 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 364,000 viewers on TNT, up 5.8 percent from the previous week. That ties the largest audience total Rampage has done since February 9.

Rampage drew a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 30 percent from last week. It ties the third-highest rating the show has done so far in 2024.

The better-than-usual numbers came despite the fact that the show went head-to-head with an NBA game on ESPN that averaged 1.6 million viewers and drew a 0.50 rating in 18-49 as well as an Iowa Hawkeyes women’s college basketball game on BTN that did over 450,000 viewers and drew a 0.11 rating in 18-49.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was down 18.6 percent in overall viewers and down 13.3 percent in 18-49. It’s the first time in the last five weeks that Rampage has declined year-over-year in the key demo.

The Friday, February 23rd episode of AEW Rampage averaged 364,000 viewers on TNT, up 21.3 percent from the previous week (which had aired three hours earlier than usual due to TNT’s coverage of NBA All-Star weekend).

This is the third-lowest audience total Rampage has done so far in 2024.

Rampage drew a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 22.2 percent from last week and is also the third-lowest rating the show has done in that category so far this year.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was down 11 percent in overall viewers but exactly even in the 18-49 demo. It’s the third straight week the show has not had a year-over-year decline in the key demo, which is the first time that’s ever happened for Rampage.

Friday night’s episode of AEW Rampage, which had a special start time of 7 p.m. Eastern, averaged 300,000 viewers on TNT. That’s down 34.2 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience total Rampage has done since November 25, when the show was moved to a Saturday night.

Rampage drew a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 35.7 percent from last week. It’s Rampage’s lowest rating since the December 15 episode that went head-to-head with ROH’s Final Battle pay-per-view.

As compared to the same week in 2023 (when the show also switched time slots due to NBA All-Star Weekend), Rampage’s overall audience was up 4.5 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 28.6 percent.

AEW Rampage draws best ratings in several months

The Friday, February 9 episode of AEW Rampage averaged 456,000 viewers on TNT, up 45.2 percent from the previous week. It’s the best audience total for Rampage since April 14 of last year when the show had an NBA playoff game as a lead-in.

Rampage drew a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 40 percent from last week and matches Rampage’s highest rating in that category since August 2023.

As compared to the same week in 2023, Rampage was up 21.6 percent in overall viewers and up 16.7 percent in 18-49. It’s only the fourth time in the show’s history that it has had a year-over-year increase in both categories. It’s the first time that’s happened since June 2023.
