AEW gaming podcast ‘on hold’ until further notice

All Elite Arcade, AEW’s gaming podcast from Evil Uno & Adam Cole, is on hold “until further notice.”

The podcast has not released a new episode since the end of April, and Evil Uno sent out an update today for fans wondering where the show has been. Evil Uno said they have been told to put all AEW Games content on hold for the moment. A date for when the show will return was not provided.

“Since it’s been a month of silence, we were told to put all AEWGames content on hold for the time being,” Evil Uno posted on social media.

“I miss doing the All Elite Arcade podcast as much as you miss listening to it, but it is in a holding pattern until further notice. I hope you all understand.”

All Elite Arcade features “weekly gaming adventures, news, reviews, and lively discussions with special guests from the gaming and wrestling worlds.” The show is presented in partnership with TNT/TBS and sponsored by the trading card company Upper Deck.

Future of AEW podcasts —

The AEW Unrestricted podcast, which was hosted by Aubrey Edwards & Will Washington and centered on interviews with AEW talent, wrapped up in March after producing more than 300 episodes. On the last show, Edwards & Washington promised that there would be more podcast content coming from AEW. The MyAEW website has a banner saying that an AEW podcast network is coming soon, but there aren’t any details aside from that.

AEW launching new gaming podcast with Adam Cole & Evil Uno

AEW is launching a new podcast focused on the world of video games.

On April 15, the “All Elite Arcade” podcast will debut on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and the AEW Games YouTube channel. The show is hosted by AEW wrestlers Adam Cole & Evil Uno and will have new episodes debut every Monday.

“We love video games, and we love video games so much that we want to share that passion with all of you, because we’re starting the All Elite Arcade podcast,” Cole said in the trailer for the show.

“Every single week you can hear me and [Cole] talk about the latest gaming news, video game reviews, and what games we’re currently playing,” Uno added.

“And in addition to that, we’ll have special guests come on and talk anything and everything video games,” Cole said. “I can’t wait.”

Guests will include members of the AEW roster and people from the video game community.

Cole goes by the name “TheCHUGS” on Twitch, where he regularly streams himself playing video games.

AEW also has the AEW Unrestricted podcast, which is hosted by Aubrey Edwards & Will Washington. They interview a different AEW talent every Thursday.

AEW & WBD launching Figure Fighters mobile game in 2024

AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports are partnering together to launch a new mobile game.

In a press release that was issued on Tuesday, AEW and WBD Sports announced that AEW: Figure Fighters is currently in early development and is scheduled to be released in 2024. It’s a casual mobile game that will be free to play.

“This free to play game will feature 3D animated versions of AEW wrestlers battling it out in the ring, allowing fans to expand their fandom and love for the show. Fans will be able to collect and level up their favorite wrestlers, play in various game modes, and complete numerous challenges,” the press release said.

“The development of the game furthers WBD Sports’ commitment to innovation in gaming, supported by an ongoing partnership with Immutable X.”

AEW has released two mobile games in the past: AEW Elite GM and AEW Casino.

Fight Forever, AEW’s first-ever console video game, will be released on Thursday, June 29.

Jamie Hayter and Darby Allin character models for Figure Fighters can be seen on a website that AEW and WBD have started.

AEW Elite General Manager mobile game to be released on July 15

The latest AEW video game will be released on July 15th as AEW Elite General Manager will be available on both Google Play and the Apple App store.

Called “the official mobile wrestling management simulator of All Elite Wrestling,” players can “sign a roster of wrestlers, select who appears in your matches for your show, and then simulate the results to determine how much money, new fans, and effect on the wrestlers’ stamina and morale your choices have.”

From their website, players can manage and take control of over 90 AEW wrestlers on the roster, challenge friends or rival GMs worldwide in both casual and ranked online play and compete for the best scores on the leaderboards. Players can also compete in daily missions and challenges to earn special rewards.

There is also a wide variety of customization available, including different available gimmicks that provide abilities and effects the help influence the outcome of matches and being able to run a successful event.

AEW Games launched last fall. AEW Casino is the only other game currently available to play.

AEW Games ‘2.Show’ debut moved to January 6

AEW Games announced this afternoon that they are moving their new show, 2.Show, to January 6 instead of this coming Wednesday.

“With careful consideration, we have made the decision to push the 2.Show to next Wednesday, January 6th following AEW Dynamite.” AEW Games wrote on Twitter.

The news comes following the death of Brodie Lee this past Saturday at the age of 41 due to a lung issue. As a result, a special tribute show will air on this week’s Dynamite in place of the show that was scheduled to take place on December 30, New Year’s Smash. That show, a two week event, will now start on January 6.

AEW Games announced the 2.Show, which will be hosted by Kenny Omega, last Saturday. Aside from a teaser video, not much is known regarding the content or schedule of the show. The division launched back in November with a stream featuring the first trailer for the upcoming console game, as well as previews for upcoming poker and sim management mobile titles.

AEW Games ‘2.Show’ launching Wednesday, Kenny Omega hosting

AEW announced on Saturday that a new show under their recently announced Games division is launching Wednesday, hosted by World Champion and noted gamer Kenny Omega.

2.Show will debut after Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite on their dedicated YouTube channel.

Not much is known about the content or schedule of the show outside Omega hosting.

In November, Omega, Cody Rhodes, Aubrey Edwards and Britt Baker were part of a presentation announcing the launch of AEW Games which included one console game and and two mobile games.

Yukes and director Hideyuki Iwashita (WWF No Mercy, Def Jam games) are developing the console game, but the release date isn’t known. The AEW Elite General Manager and AEW Casino: Double or Nothing mobile games also didn’t have release dates attached to them.

MONDAY NEWS UPDATE

Bryan and I will be back tonight with Wrestling Observer Radio talking Raw, as well as the latest wrestling and MMA news, as well as Kyllie Rae, Best of the Super Juniors and more. You can also send in questions to the show to [email protected]

Friday’s Smackdown show on FOX did a 0.7 rating in 18-49, which is the key number and aside from the draft show, it’s the first time it reached that level since the pandemic. There are some external reasons, lack of sports competition and a lot of the network shows that would be on the air right now haven’t had new episodes aired yet due to COVID. But the key is still that Smackdown’s angles are clicking with the Roman Reigns storyline and a few of the others. With the exception of Shark Tank on ABC, Smackdown had more viewers 18-49 than any show Friday night on television.

Raw tonight has Jeff Hardy vs. Elias in a guitar on a pole match, New Day vs. Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match and Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke in a non-title match. Tonight’s NFL game has the New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The Bucs are a marquee team this year but the Giants are 1-6.

AEW’s Countdown to Full Gear show is scheduled to debut on Friday night at 11 p.m. on TNT.  That will likely be promoted on Wednesday’s show.

Jon Jones sent out a video of him with a shotgun chasing away someone in a car outside of his home. The video doesn’t show what Jones claimed was him coming out of his garage and chasing the person with a shotgun.  Jones wrote, “Next time you try to rob someone, make sure you’re fast enough to outrun them.  He’s lucky I’m smart enough not to shoot a man when he’s retreating.  People, I know times are getting hard but your life isn’t worth a few material possessions.”

Both DDT and Dragon Gate have a major show late tonight/early tomorrow from the Ota Ward Gym in Tokyo.  DDT’s Ultimate Party show starts at 12:30 a.m. Eastern on DDT Universe with some major stories in play including a generational battle with Jun Akiyama vs. Konosuke Takeshita.  The main event is the KO-D Open weight title with Tetsuya Endo vs. Daisuke Sasaki, the Universal title has Chris Brooks vs. Yuki Ueno, Cima & Soma Takao vs. Harashima & Naomichii Marufuji and MMA legend Shinya Aoki defends the Extreme title against Sanshiro Takagi.

Dragon Gate’s Gate of Destiny, the annual November big show from the Edion Arena in Osaka starts at 3:30 a.m. Eastern. Top matches are:

  • Kaito Ishida vs. Keisuke Okuda for the Open the Brave Gate title

  • Diamante & Kazma Sakamoto & Takashi Yoshida defend the Open the Triangle Gate titles against Naruki Doi & Punch Tominaga & Ryotsu Shimizu

  • Cynthia Calvillo, who was to face Lauren Murphy on 10/24 before she tested positive for COVID, was reported by ESPN to face Katlyn Chookagian on the 11/21 PPV show.

  • Giga Chikadze vs. Jamey Simmons has been added to Saturday’s UFC show in Las Vegas.
