MyAEW adds first indie promotion to streaming service

MyAEW has added its first indie promotion to their streaming service in a possible indication of an avenue the service will embrace in the future.

Atlanta, Georgia, based 1FW announced the news Friday that every episode of their weekly show (34 to date) is now on the service for subscribers. The promotion is owned by longtime AEW wrestler and front office member QT Marshall while ROH wrestler Jacked Jameson is one of the group’s trainers and promoters.

The news comes ahead of an 1FW mid-July event that will feature AEW & ROH roster members like Paul Wight, Billy Gunn, Harley Cameron, The Frat House, The Infantry and Jay Lethal. Former AEW World Champion MJF has also made appearances in the past.

With the current financial issues surrounding Triller that resulted in AEW leaving the platform, starting MyAEW with a technical partner, and then suing Triller for money owed, the move could be the first of more to come given the amount of current indie promotions airing on Triller+ that might need a new streaming home in the future.

MyAEW offers a FAST channel domestically while international viewers (and those with a VPN) can get access to AEW PPVs, weekly TV and ROH programming for a monthly or annual subscription fee.

AEW World Champion Darby Allin makes surprise indie appearance

Coming off his successful title defense against Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin made a surprise visit to indie promotion One Fall Wrestling.

The AEW World Champion showed up at 1FW’s television taping in McDonough, Georgia on Sunday, taking part in an angle where he laid out his protege Kiran Grey. Grey was standing over a group of wrestlers and got on the microphone to warn that the result would be the same for whoever walked through the curtain next. The lights then went out so Allin could make his entrance.

After ducking a chair shot, Allin punched Grey, gave him a Scorpion Death Drop, and followed with a Coffin Drop.

1FW is owned by AEW wrestler/executive QT Marshall, and Allin has appeared for the promotion before. He took the mic after laying out Grey and thanked all of the fans who came to the show.

“I just got off a plane from Collision last night, but I had to make a stop here,” Allin said. “And I’ll tell you why: I want to thank everybody that’s here today because this business starts in places like this. I want you to support all the people that you love in the back, follow their career, because you never know where it’s going to end up.”

Allin, a fighting champion since winning the belt from MJF last month, has a title defense against “Speedball” Mike Bailey coming up this Wednesday. A rematch between Allin and MJF is then scheduled for AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday (May 24). In order to get the match, MJF agreed to put his hair on the line.

AEW star MJF announced for indie appearance

AEW World Champion MJF is heading down to Georgia later this month for an indie appearance.

On Thursday, March 26, MJF will be appearing at One Fall Wrestling’s “The Devil Returns to Georgia” live event. The show is being held in McDonough, Georgia and is set to feature QT Marshall, Billy Gunn, Jay Lethal, Adam Priest, Brady Booker, Jacked Jameson, and Angelica Risk among the competitors.

Marshall is the owner of 1FW. The promotion is based out of the Atlanta area with a focus on community, talent development, and storytelling.

March 26 is the same day that MJF was originally supposed to be in Canada for Evil Uno’s Mystery Wrestling, but it was announced last week that MJF would be unable to make that show due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.

During his AEW World Championship reign, MJF has competed for indie companies like House of Glory and Limitless Wrestling in an attempt to prove himself as a traveling champion. He could potentially lose his title before this show takes place, with MJF set to defend against Hangman Page in a Texas Death match at AEW Revolution on March 15.
