Undisputed Tag Team title match set for WWE Night of Champions

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles will be on the line in Saudi Arabia.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will defend the titles against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa on May 27 in Saudi Arabia. The announcement took place on Friday’s SmackDown following a confrontation between Regins and The Usos.

During the promo, Reigns praised Solo Sikoa for stepping up. However, he berated The Usos for losing at WrestleMania then losing the rematch, which they dedicated to Reigns. After Jimmy Uso seemed to be smiling as Reigns was complaining, Reigns shoved him. The two had a staredown until Jey Uso broke the tension by apologizing to Reigns and promised they’d get the titles back to The Bloodline. Heyman then announced that it will be Reigns and Sikoa getting the shot in Saudi Arabia.

Here is the updated card for WWE Night of Champions:

  • World Heavyweight Championship finals: Seth Rollins vs. ???
  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defend against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

The Usos unify WWE Tag Team titles on SmackDown

The Usos are the new WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

Jimmy and Jey Uso defeated RK-Bro to unify the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team titles on tonight’s SmackDown. The finish of the match had Riddle going for a super RKO off the top rope, but Roman Reigns ran in from the crowd and held on to Jey on the turnbuckle, causing Riddle to crash to the ring. Jey then hit a splash off the top rope to unify the titles.

After the match, Reigns and the Usos continued to assault Riddle. The Usos attacked Orton as Reigns locked in the guillotine on Riddle. The show ended with Jey hitting a splash off the turnbuckle onto the announcer’s desk where Riddle was positioned.

This ends RK-Bro’s run with the Raw titles after 73 days, defeating Alpha Academy on the March 7 edition of Raw. The Usos have been SmackDown Tag Team Champions since July 18, when they won the titles at last year’s Money in the Bank.

The titles were originally scheduled to be unified at WWE WrestleMania Backlash. However, during the contract signing, Roman Reigns interfered and ripped apart the contract, with The Bloodline attacking RK-Bro. Drew McIntyre made the save, setting up a six-man tag team match on the show that The Bloodline won. Despite the loss, Orton and Riddle have continued to demand a title unification match, with their wish finally being granted on tonight’s show.
