WWE NXT ratings down for Halloween Havoc night one

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT, which was week one of this year’s Halloween Havoc special, averaged 787,000 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down 1.4 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience total the show has drawn since September 26.

NXT drew a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 8.7 percent from last week. It’s also the lowest rating NXT has done in that category since the September 26 episode. 

The show faced big sports competition in the form of the opening night of the NBA season as well as game seven of Major League Baseball’s National League Championship Series. Programming related to both baseball and basketball took the top seven spots ahead of NXT on the cable sports charts. 

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 9.9 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 40 percent.

WWE NXT ratings down from last week’s loaded episode

Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT averaged 798,000 viewers on the USA Network, down 13.4 percent from last week’s loaded episode that included appearances by John Cena, The Undertaker, and more. This is still the fifth-highest audience total NXT has drawn in 2023. The four episodes beating it all happened over the previous five weeks.

NXT drew a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 23.3 percent from last week but is tied for the show’s fourth-highest rating of the year in that category. 

The only two shows to beat NXT on the cable sports charts were MLB playoff-related programming. The NLCS game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks averaged 5.13 million viewers and drew a 1.24 rating in 18-49.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 18.1 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 27.8 percent.

WWE NXT beats AEW Dynamite in Tuesday night ratings war

With the shows going head-to-head, WWE NXT picked up a ratings victory over AEW Dynamite on Tuesday night.

NXT averaged 921,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 7.5 percent from last week. It’s the largest audience total for the show since September 25, 2019, which was the second week that NXT aired on USA Network.

Dynamite averaged 609,000 viewers on TBS. That’s down 23.9 percent from last week and is the lowest viewership total the show has done since June 18, 2021. That episode was moved to Saturday due to NBA playoff coverage. This is the lowest viewership Dynamite has ever done when airing head-to-head against NXT. 

NXT drew a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 36.4 percent from last week. It’s the fourth-highest rating in the history of the show, trailing only the first three weeks that NXT aired on USA.

Dynamite did a 0.26 rating in 18-49. That’s down 7.1 percent from last week and is the lowest rating the show has done since June 28.

NXT featured a loaded-up lineup with appearances by John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, and The Undertaker. Dynamite, which aired on a different night than usual due to the MLB playoffs, was a Title Tuesday edition of the show. Adam Copeland made his AEW in-ring debut on Dynamite, defeating Luchasaurus.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT was up 25 percent in overall viewers and up 100 percent in 18-49. Dynamite was down 38.1 percent in overall viewers and down 18.8 percent in 18-49.

Comparing to one week last year when both shows aired head-to-head on Tuesday night, NXT was up 36.2 percent overall and up 66.7 percent in 18-49. Dynamite was down 19 percent in overall viewers but steady in 18-49.

WWE NXT ratings up for No Mercy fallout

WWE NXT ratings got a post-No Mercy bump on Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s episode of NXT averaged 857,000 viewers on the USA Network, up from the 636,000 viewers the show drew last week. This is NXT’s best viewership total since October 2020.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT drew a 0.22 rating, up from the 0.18 rating it did last week. The number is down from the demo ratings NXT drew on September 19 (0.24 rating) and September 12 (0.26 rating).

NXT faced competition from the MLB Wild Card playoff round last night.

Year-over-year, NXT’s viewership and demo rating both had big increases. The October 4, 2022 episode of NXT averaged 625,000 viewers and drew a 0.13 rating in 18-49.

Last night’s show featured NXT’s fallout from No Mercy. The episode was headlined by Dominik Mysterio winning the NXT North American Championship back from Trick Williams in a No Mercy rematch. There was also an appearance by NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

Next week, NXT and AEW Dynamite are going head-to-head on Tuesday night. Dynamite is airing on Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict with the MLB playoffs. NXT has announced a loaded lineup with appearances by John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, and Asuka.

WWE NXT ratings down for final No Mercy build

Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT, the go-home show for No Mercy, averaged 636,000 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down 22.8 percent from last week and is NXT’s second-lowest audience total since July 4.

NXT drew a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demo, which topped all sports-related shows on cable TV. That’s down 25 percent from last week and ties the show’s second-lowest rating since the July 4 episode.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT was down 3.6 percent in overall viewers but was up 12.5 percent in the 18-49 demo.

For the month of September, NXT averaged 745,750 viewers per episode and a 0.215 rating in 18-49. That’s up from the 690,000 viewers and 0.155 rating the show averaged in September 2022.

WWE NXT ratings remain strong following Becky Lynch title win

Despite that, this is still the second-largest audience total NXT has done since April 20, 2021. It’s also the first time the show has been above 800,000 viewers in consecutive weeks since April 2021. 

NXT drew a 0.24 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 7.7 percent from last week but is NXT’s second-highest rating in that category since the October 28, 2020 episode.

Tuesday’s NXT featured an appearance by new NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, who won the title from Tiffany Stratton in last week’s main event. Ratings were fairly steady throughout the show but peaked for the Carmelo Hayes/Dominik Mysterio non-title champion vs. champion match at the top of the second hour.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 19.8 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 60 percent.

The episode was headlined by Becky Lynch returning to NXT and winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT was up 16.8 percent in overall viewers and up 73.3 percent in 18-49.

WWE NXT viewership up for Heatwave

Tuesday night’s Heatwave episode of WWE NXT averaged 720,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 5.9 percent from last week. It’s the second-highest audience total for the show since July 18 and is NXT’s fourth-best viewership of 2023.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT finished third on the cable charts with a 0.19 rating. That’s the same rating the show did last Tuesday when it topped the charts, so there was tougher competition this week. ESPN’s coverage of the Little League World Series aired head to head and was first on cable with a 0.21 rating. 

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 6.2 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 35.7 percent. It’s the 20th straight week NXT has been up year-over-year.

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT averaged 680,000 viewers on the USA Network, down 12.4 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since July 11.

The episode drew a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 17.4 percent from last week and is NXT’s lowest rating in that category since July 4.

There was little in the way of main roster talent on the episode with the exception of a short backstage promo from NXT North American Champion Dominick Mysterio and Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley announcing that they will be teaming on next week’s NXT Heatwave special. 

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall viewership was down six percent while its 18-49 rating was up 5.6 percent. Heatwave aired one week earlier last year, so the overall viewership was more than a normal episode was doing at the time.

WWE NXT draws best viewership in over two years

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT averaged 776,000 viewers on the USA Network. That’s up 8.2 percent from last week and is the best audience total for the show since April 20, 2021.

This is the fourth straight week NXT’s audience has been over 700,000 viewers, which has also not happened since March-April of 2021.

The main event of the episode saw Dominik Mysterio defend the NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. Rey Mysterio was in Dragon Lee’s corner for the match. 

NXT drew a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is the same rating the show had done the last two weeks. It matches NXT’s highest rating since October 28, 2021. 

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 30 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 76.9 percent. These increases come despite an overall decline in the number of homes receiving cable.

WWE NXT tops 700k viewers for second week in a row

Tuesday night’s edition of WWE NXT averaged 703,000 viewers on the USA Network, down 5.8 percent from last week. It’s still the second-highest audience total for the show since June 20 and marks the first time NXT has been over 700,000 viewers in consecutive weeks since September 2021.

NXT drew a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 9.5 percent from last week. That ties the June 20 episode where Seth Rollins defended his World Heavyweight Championship on the show for NXT’s best 18-49 rating since October 2020.

Rhea Ripley, the Women’s World Champion from Raw, wrestled on the show, defeating Lyra Valkyria in what was the in-ring main event. Ripley also kicked off the episode with new NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT was up 17.2 percent in overall viewers and up 77 percent in 18-49. It’s the third straight week the year-over-year increase in 18-49 has been at least 40 percent.

WWE NXT ratings up for North American title match

Last night’s episode of WWE NXT averaged 746,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 11.2% from the previous week. It’s the second highest audience of the year for the show, trailing only the June 20 show where Seth Rollins defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker. 

The show averaged a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 5% from last week. It was the second highest rating in that category dating back to April 2021.

As compared to the same week in 2022, the overall audience was up 26.9%, while the 18-49 rating was up 61.5%. It’s the 14th week out of the last 15 that NXT has had a year over year increase in the key demo.

WWE NXT ratings up for Judgment Day appearance

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT averaged 671,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 32.1 percent from last week’s Fourth of July episode. It’s the best audience total for the show since June 20 when Seth Rollins defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker.

This is NXT’s third-highest viewership of 2023. The episode featured an appearance by The Judgment Day, which included Finn Balor & Damian Priest defeating Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams in the main event.

NXT drew a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up 53.9 percent from last week. That’s despite NXT going head-to-head with the MLB All-Star Game last night. The game averaged seven million viewers on Fox and drew a 1.61 rating in 18-49.

The number marks NXT’s second-highest rating in the 18-49 demo this year. Other than the June 20 episode, it’s NXT’s best rating since September 2021.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall audience was up 15.3 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 42.9 percent.

WWE NXT ratings down for Fourth of July episode

Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, which was taped in advance and aired on the Fourth of July holiday, averaged 508,000 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down 18.3 percent from last week.

This is the lowest audience total in NXT’s history for an episode that aired on USA Network. The only episode to draw a lower viewership was in February 2022 when NXT was moved to SyFy due to Olympic coverage on USA.

NXT drew a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 23.5 percent from last week. That ties the lowest rating in the demo NXT has done since March 21. 

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s viewership was down 14.3 percent but its 18-49 rating was up 8.3 percent, so the show is skewing much younger this year, as all WWE programming has been.
