WWE NXT viewership up, 18-49 demo rating down

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT episode averaged 633,000 viewers on USA Network, up 3.8 percent from last week. It’s the second-largest audience total for the show since June 18.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT drew a 0.19 rating. That’s down five percent from last week and is the lowest rating the show has done in that category since July 2.

The show had no major sports competition and was the last NXT episode before it moves to Syfy for the next two weeks due to USA Network’s coverage of the Paris Olympics.

As compared to the same week in 2024, NXT’s overall viewership was down 10 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 17.4 percent. It’s the second straight week the show has had year-over-year declines in both categories, which has not happened since September 2022.

NXT topped the cable TV charts with a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 18.2 percent from last week and ties the highest rating the show has done in that category since December 2019. NXT was the sixth-highest rated show on all of television on Tuesday and was third among non-sports programming.

The strong rating comes despite the fact that NXT went head-to-head with game five of the NHL’s Stanley Cup Final which topped all TV with a 1.13 rating in 18-49 and averaged 4.15 million viewers.

NXT featured a number one contender’s battle royal that included TNA wrestlers Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian. Though they weren’t announced in advance, it was teased that some of the battle royal entrants would be from “different locker rooms.”

As compared to the same week in 2023, NXT’s overall viewership was down 6.3 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 13 percent, so the audience continues to skew much younger this year.
