Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland announced for The Wrestling Revolver event in April

Shane Strickland is heading back to the independent wrestling scene.

The Wrestling Revolver announced tonight that Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland was announced for their event that will take place on April 16. No opponent was named. This would mark Strickland’s first announced appearance post-WWE.

Swerve, formerly Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, was released from WWE on November 18 of last year after signing with the company in 2019. Swerve, alongside Top Dolla, Ashante Thee Adonis, and B-Fab formed a stable in NXT called Hit Row. Swerve had won the North American Championship thanks to their help and were called to the main roster in October. However, B-Fab was released on November 4, and the rest of Hit Row were released later that month after only making a handful of appearances on the main roster.

Prior to signing with WWE, Swerve had been a fixture in the independent wrestling scene in such promotions as Combat Zone Wrestling, Lucha Underground (under the name Killshot) and Major League Wrestling.

Jon Moxley to face Jimmy Jacobs at Wrestling Revolver event

Jimmy Jacobs has answered Jon Moxley’s open challenge for The Wrestling Revolver’s  October 30 Tales from the Ring 4 event.

In a video promo posted to Twitter, Jacobs answered Moxley’s challenge and promised to drive an eight-inch nail into his skull when the two meet in the ring for the first time in over ten years.

Moxley and Jacobs had a three-match series in Dragon Gate USA in 2021, with their last match taking place nearly ten years to the day from Tales from the Ring 4. Their last in-ring meeting came on October 29, 2010 in an I Quit match.

Moxley was originally scheduled to team with Sami Callahan against The American Wolves (Davey Richard and Eddie Edwards) at Tales from the Ring, but Callihan has been sidelined with an injury.

Tales from the Ring 4 will be held at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa. Select tickets for the show are still available. The show will also air live on FITE TV pay-per-view.

Here is the announced card:

Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan added to The Wrestling Revolver event

Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan have been added to The Wrestling Revolver’s Tales from the Ring event on October 30 in Clive, Iowa.

The event’s poster teases a reunion of Moxley and Callihan’s indie tag team from more than a decade ago, The Switchblade Conspiracy. No match has been announced yet for Moxley or Callihan.

An American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) reunion has already been announced for the show. Notably, Moxley and Callihan defeated Richards and Edwards on a WxW show in Philadelphia back in March 2010.

In addition to Moxley, Callihan and The American Wolves, also announced for Tales from the Ring are Jessicka Havok, Warhorse, Ace Austin, Jake Crist, Everett Connors, Trey Miguel, Rich Swann, Billie Starkz and Matthew Palmer.
