WWE SmackDown video highlights: Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

WWE’s WrestleMania weekend festivities in Dallas officially began with last night’s “WrestleMania SmackDown.”

In addition to the final build to WrestleMania, the 2022 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal took place on SmackDown last night. Madcap Moss last eliminated United States Champion Finn Balor to win the match.

Moss, Balor, NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and Tommaso Ciampa were the final five wrestlers in the battle royal.

A Happy Talk segment headlined last night’s show. After Happy Corbin stole Drew McIntyre’s sword Angela on Raw earlier this week, the sword (which is named after McIntyre’s late mother) was Corbin’s guest on Happy Talk. Corbin renamed the sword “Euphoria” and told a joke about McIntyre’s dead mother: “What does Drew McIntyre’s sword and his mother have in common? He lost them both.”

McIntyre then charged out to the ring and dropped Moss with a punch. He threw a steel chair at Corbin and then went to attack him with the sword, but Corbin ducked and fled the ring. McIntyre destroyed the Happy Talk set to close the show.

A triple threat Intercontinental Championship match also took place last night, with Ricochet defeating Angel and Humberto to retain his title.

A new segment has been announced for tonight’s WrestleMania 38 go-home edition of SmackDown.

Happy Corbin will host another edition of his “Happy Talk” talk show on SmackDown tonight. His guest will be Drew McIntyre’s sword Angela, which Corbin stole from McIntyre on Raw earlier this week.

WWE.com wrote:

On WrestleMania Raw, Happy Corbin’s swift retreat from a Handicap Match paved the way for Drew McIntyre to get the win over him and Madcap Moss.

Immediately after the bell, however, Corbin attacked The Scottish Warrior from behind, hit End of Days and stole his beloved sword Angela!

Now, just one day before battling The Scottish Warrior on WrestleMania Saturday, the brash Corbin will welcome his special guest Angela onto another episode of ‘Happy Talk.’

In a move that is sure to draw the ire of his adversary, will Happy Corbin even make it to The Grandest Stage of Them All? Don’t miss a special WrestleMania SmackDown, this Friday at 8/7 C on FOX.

McIntyre vs. Corbin will be part of the card for WrestleMania 38 night one this Saturday.

“WrestleMania SmackDown” is the name of tonight’s SmackDown episode. The show is being held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The 2022 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is taking place at the American Airlines Center after SmackDown ends.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: WrestleMania SmackDown

The final SmackDown before WrestleMania was a special WrestleMania edition of the show.

Ahead of their Universal Championship match at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns, Edge, and Daniel Bryan all cut promos on last night’s SmackDown. Reigns vs. Edge vs. Bryan will be the main event of WrestleMania 37 night two this Sunday.

Last night’s SmackDown also featured a couple of matches that at one point seemed like possibilities for the WrestleMania card. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode defended their SmackDown Tag Team titles against The Street Profits, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, and Chad Gable & Otis, while Jey Uso won this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
