WWE NXT’s Wendy Choo challenging for Knockouts title at TNA Victory Road

Jordynne Grace is putting her TNA Knockouts World Championship on the line against another member of the WWE NXT roster.

Following an angle that took place on NXT last night, TNA has confirmed that Grace will defend her Knockouts Championship against Wendy Choo at Victory Road 2024 this Friday. The show is being held in San Antonio, Texas and will air live on TNA+.

Grace had a Knockouts Championship open challenge on Tuesday’s NXT, facing off against Sol Ruca. But the match ended in a no contest when it was disrupted by Choo and Rosemary. The lights went out, Rosemary confronted Grace, and Choo attacked Grace from behind.

TNA then uploaded a promo from Grace today announcing her match against Choo for Victory Road.

“I’ve made it clear since I won this title that I’m willing to defend it against any and all challengers, but some people just can’t seem to wait their turn,” Grace said. “Wendy Choo, it’s obvious that you want a title shot — and I’m going to give that to you. This Friday at Victory Road. Not for you, but for me. Because the best part about Victory Road is that it’s in San Antonio. In Texas, my home state. And I’m more than happy to defend my title and beat your ass in front of my entire family.”

Grace has defended the Knockouts title against NXT wrestlers Tatum Paxley, Izzi Dame, Karmen Petrovic, and Ruca since the working relationship between TNA and NXT began.

Here’s the updated Victory Road lineup:

World title match official for TNA Victory Road 2024

After retaining in an Iron Man match, Nic Nemeth already has his next challenger for the TNA World Championship.

Nemeth (the former Dolph Ziggler) is defending his TNA World title against Moose at Victory Road 2024 on Friday, September 13. The show will stream live for subscribers of TNA+.

The main event of TNA Emergence on Friday night saw Nemeth retain his title against Josh Alexander. It was a 60-minute Iron Man match that ended with Nemeth scoring three falls to Alexander’s two. When the show went off the air, Nemeth accepted a challenge that Moose had issued earlier in the night. TNA then made their title match official for Victory Road.

Nemeth won the TNA World Championship in a six-way elimination match at Slammiversary last month. Moose was champion going into that match but got eliminated by Joe Hendry.

At Emergence, The System (Moose, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & Johnny Dango Curtis) defeated The Hardys, Hendry & Mike Santana in an eight-man tag match.

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield made a surprise appearance at the end of Emergence, whispering something to Nemeth before leaving.

Victory Road 2024 will take place from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.
