E! renews Total Bellas for season six

Total Bellas has already been renewed for another season.

On the day that the show’s season five finale aired, E! announced that Total Bellas has been picked up for a sixth season. It will premiere this fall.

Season six “will highlight the expansion of their families with the birth of their babies as Nikki navigates the joys of parenthood for the first time and Brie continues her journey of motherhood, now as a mom of two.”

It was revealed on Thursday’s season five finale that Nikki Bella and her fiance Artem Chigvintsev are expecting a baby boy. Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan opted to not find out the gender of their baby in advance.

Nikki and Brie announced their pregnancies in January.

This was the first season that Total Bellas aired on Thursday nights. It has previously aired on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Nikki & Brie were announced as members of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. The induction ceremony was supposed to take place during WrestleMania week in April, but that couldn’t happen due to the coronavirus pandemic.

E! moves up Total Bellas season five premiere date

The next season of Total Bellas will be debuting a bit earlier than expected.

E! announced today that the premiere date for Total Bellas season five has been moved up a week. It will now premiere at 9 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, April 2.

Nikki Bella wrote on Instagram: “Ok Bella Army a lot of you have been asking socially if @totalbellas can premiere earlier, @eentertainment heard you and worked their magic and Total Bellas will premiere a week earlier on Thursday April 2nd 9/8c!! So set those alerts, alarms and dvrs bc us Bellas are back in less than 2 weeks! Please spread the news!! #totalbellas”

The original April 9 premiere date had been revealed last month. E! wrote about the new season:

Nikki and Brie finally act on an ever growing need to reconnect with their father while working on their memoir. While they want to learn more about him, his family and their Mexican American roots, the sisters worry about how it will affect their mother.

When Artem is surprised and confused to find out he won’t be returning to ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ Nikki helps him explore new career goals.

After nearly six years of matrimony, Brie and Bryan are working hard to find compromise in their relationship as they nurture their daughter Birdie, their careers, and find out they’re expecting their second child.

Despite the relatable, real life challenges in their lives, Nikki and Artem’s love only grows stronger. Artem proposes during a romantic getaway to Paris, and soon after the couple experiences another life changing moment when Nikki finds out she’s pregnant.

While the sisters are excited to embark on their childbearing journey together, Brie is initially shocked to realize they are pregnant at the same time.

Nikki & Brie Bella have been announced as members of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class, though when the ceremony will be taking place is uncertain after its original date was canceled.

E! renews Total Bellas for season four

Total Bellas is officially returning for more episodes.

E! and WWE announced today that the show has been greenlit for a fourth season. The season three finale drew 617,000 viewers on July 29, with the average for the season up nearly eight percent from season two.

The relationship drama between Nikki Bella and John Cena was heavily featured this past season. After the finale aired, Nikki claimed her relationship with Cena is officially over and that they have parted ways from each other.

Season four will debut at some point in 2019, but the premiere date hasn’t been announced.

“I can’t wait for our fans to join me in the next step of my life. I promise that it will be a fun, real and heartfelt adventure,” Nikki said in the press release announcing Total Bellas’ renewal.

“I’m so excited for another season of Total Bellas and hope our journey continues to inspire, motivate and connect with our Bella Army,” Brie said.

Nikki and Brie are both also among the executive producers for the series.

Cena-Nikki relationship drama doesn’t boost Total Bellas ratings

The media push leading up to Sunday and all of the hype over John Cena and Nikki Bella’s relationship status didn’t mean much for Total Bellas ratings.

The show’s third season premiere averaged 517,000 total viewers and a 0.27 rating in the 18-49 demo on E!. That’s down from 674,000 viewers for the season two finale and 681,000 for last season’s premiere.

It’s also the lowest viewership for an episode in series history, though Total Bellas was moving to a new night for this season after previously airing on Wednesdays.

Total Bellas finished 24th on cable in the 18-49 demo on Sunday night. The Golden State Warriors’ game three win over the Houston Rockets in the NBA Western Conference finals led the night with 7,797,000 viewers and a 2.88 rating in the demo.

After Cena and Bella announced their split in April, Cena appeared on the Today Show last week and said he still wants to marry Bella and have children with her. Bella then responded while at NBC Universal’s upfronts, saying she also has hope for their relationship. People.com most recently reported that they’re “basically back together.”
