WWE TLC live results: Reigns vs. Owens, McIntyre vs. Styles

The Universal Championship and WWE Championship will both be on the line in tables, ladders, and chairs matches tonight.

Tonight’s TLC pay-per-view will feature Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre defending his WWE Championship against AJ Styles in tables, ladders, and chairs matches. Styles has warned McIntyre that he won’t be facing him alone, with Money in the Bank briefcase holder The Miz, John Morrison, and Styles’ associate Omos also set to get involved in the match.

The first-ever Firefly Inferno match will also take place as Randy Orton faces “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. A game of hide-and-seek between Orton and Wyatt on last week’s Raw ended with Orton putting Wyatt in a box and lighting it on fire. But The Fiend then emerged and put Orton in the Mandible Claw.

Also at TLC, Sasha Banks will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella, The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) will defend their Raw Tag Team titles against The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander), and Asuka and a partner of her choosing will challenge for Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax’s Women’s Tag Team titles. Asuka was originally set to team with Lana before Lana was attacked by Baszler and Jax on Raw last week.

Tonight’s pre-show begins at 6 p.m. Eastern time and will feature Big E, Daniel Bryan, Chad Gable & Otis facing Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura in an eight-man tag match. The main card then starts at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Kick-Off Show

Charley Caruso started the Kick-Off Show by introducing her panel members Jeff Jarrett, Booker T, and Pete Rosenberg. They ran down the line up for tonight. Each panel member mentioned which match they’re most interested in tonight.

They recapped the Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens feud. They also aired a clip from Talking Smack of Owens speaking to Paul Heyman.

The panel then took a closer look at the match. The panel all praised Reigns, with Rosenberg calling him the best wrestler. They all had little faith that Owens can overcome the odds and win the Universal title.

They recapped the Sasha Banks and Carmella feud. The panel then took a closer look at the SmackDown Woman’s Championship match.

The panel then turned their attention to the Raw Tag Team Championship match.

The panel interviewed MVP about the title match tonight. MVP praised The New Day as being one of the best tag teams of all time. He’s confident that Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin would win the titles tonight.

Back from the break, they recapped the Drew McIntrye and AJ Styles feud. Caruso mentioned that Omos, Sheamus, and The Miz could all get involved. The Miz and John Morrison interrupted and joined the panel.

Miz teased cashing in tonight. Booker pointed out Miz and Morrison are working together, but only Miz is Mr. Money In The Bank. Miz noted everyone keeps asking when he is going to cash in. He pointed out that McIntrye is difficult to pin.

Caruso changed the subject to tonight’s WWE Women’s Tag Team title match. They recapped the Nia Jax and Lana feud, including the Lana injury on Raw this past Monday. They briefly discussed the mystery partner when  24/7 Champion R-Truth interrupted. He offered to be Asuka’s partner tonight.

Daniel Bryan, Otis, Chad Gable & Big E defeated Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura & King Corbin (w/Knights Of The Lone Wolf)

This was a good pre-show eight-man tag match.

They recapped the Sami Awards and Big E’s attack before the match. Michael Cole laughed that Zayn couldn’t win a rigged award cermoney. They did a parody of the Tom Cruise incident. They then aired leaked audio of Zayn yelling at a stagehand for Big E winning Superstar of the Year. Cole compared the incident to Tom Cruise yelling at a crew member.

Zayn teased starting the match with Big E but tagged in Corbin. Corbin had the brief advantage, but Big E hit a belly-to-belly suplex. The faces took over and worked over Cesaro’s arm. Bryan attempted the Yes kicks, but Cesaro grabbed the leg. Bryan countered into a near fall.

Cesaro and Nakamura worked together against Bryan. The heels took over and cut Bryan off from his corner. Zayn tagged in and beat down Bryan in the corner. Corbin attempted a superplex, but Bryan shoved him off. He followed up with a missile dropkick.

Zayn pulled Big E off the apron. Big E chased Zayn on the floor, but Cesaro rocked him with an uppercut.

Otis got the hot tag and ran wild. He hit the caterpillar, but Gable demanded a tag. The heels then regained control, so Zayn tagged into the match. Gable rolled out of the way and tagged in Big E.

Zayn had nobody to tag anymore. Zayn attempted the helluva kick, but Big E countered with the uranage. Big E then hit the Big Ending on Zayn for the win. Cole pointed out that Big E pinned the I.C. champion.

They recapped the Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton feud.

TLC match: WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defeated AJ Styles (w/Omos) and The Miz (w/John Morrison) to regain the title

This was a great TLC match with some great spots and lots of action. It started with McIntrye and Styles. Midway through the match, Miz cashed in his MITB, which turned the match into a triple threat match. McIntrye and Styles had a great match, and Miz was only in for the end.

As Styles made his entrance, Tom Philips pointed out that Styles has been in this type of match before, but McIntyre hasn’t.

Styles attacked McIntyre’s knee at the bell. He had the early advantage as he continued to attack the leg. McIntrye fired back and slammed down Styles with a suplex. Styles tried to fight back, but McIntrye caught Styles with a high back body drop.

McIntrye rocked Styles with a hard chop knocking him off the turnbuckle to the floor. He slammed Styles head-first on the announce table. McIntrye attempted to suplex Styles through a table, but Styles escaped the hold.

McIntrye and Omos had a brief staredown. He dropped Styles on the barricade and then sent him through the chairs set up on a table. McIntrye then set up a ladder in the ring. He climbed up, but Styles hit him in the injured knee with a chair.

Styles wedged a chair in the corner. Styles tried to send McIntrye into the chair, but he blocked it. McIntrye gave Styles a slingshot into the ladder, but Styles landed on the ladder and climbed up. McIntrye cut him off and gave him a slingshot into the chair.

McIntrye attempted to climb up again, but Styles attacked the injured leg. Styles then dropped a ladder on McIntrye. He tried to set up for the Styles Clash, but McIntrye reversed into the Future Shock DDT. McIntrye lifted the ladder and dropped it on Styles.

Styles recovered and went back to McIntrye’s knee. Styles used the ladder to apply the Calf Crusher. Styles then attacked McIntrye’s leg with a chair.  He then reapplied the Calf Crush, but this time with a chair.

McIntyre fought back and dropped Styles on the ladder to break the hold. Styles took back over and slammed McIntyre’s leg against the post. They fought around ringside, and Styles rocked McIntrye with a ladder shot to the face.

Styles placed McIntrye on the table on the floor. Styles then walked up a ladder on an angle in the corner.

McIntyre recovered and smashed a chair in Styles’s face.

McIntrye brought in a table and set it up in the corner. Styles fought back and dropped McIntrye face-first on the bottom rung of a ladder.

McIntrye threw Styles into the table, but he slid under and pushed the table into McIntrye’s injured knee. Styles charged at McIntrye, but he caught him and gave Styles an overhead belly to belly suplex onto the ladder in the corner.

Styles hit a Phenomenal forearm and climbed up the ladder. McIntyre cut him off, and press slammed Styles through a table at ringside.

McIntrye started climbing up the ladder when Miz ran out. Miz gave McIntrye a powerbomb through the table. Miz then cashed in his Money In The Bank contract, and the match became a triple threat TLC match.

Miz climbed up the ladder, but Omos pulled Miz down and held him in his arms like a baby. He then dropped Miz through a table at ringside. John Morrison jumped in and smashed a chair over Omos’ back. The chair broke into pieces. Omos just looked at Morrison and stalked him to the back.

McIntrye struggled to get to his feet. Styles got back in and climbed up the ladder. They fought on the top, and Miz got back in and set up a second ladder. McIntrye knocked Styles and Miz off. Styles recovered and springboarded onto the ladder and knocked off McIntrye.

Miz and Styles fought on the top of the ladders. McIntyre recovered and pushed over the ladders. Styles took a nasty bump to the floor and seemed to be bleeding from the face.

Miz landed on the ropes. McIntrye then hit the Claymore kick on Miz and climbed up the ladder to pull down the title for the win.

In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed Paul Heyman. He gave a spoiler that Owens is going to get hurt. He promised that Roman Reigns is going to hold onto the title.

SmackDown Woman’s Champion Sasha Banks defeated Carmella (w/Reginald) to retain the title.

Banks and Carmella had a good match. They both worked hard.

Carmella stalled at ringside but Banks dragged her in the ring. Carmella fought back and gained control of the match.

Banks knocked Carmella off the apron, but Reginald caught her. Banks then knocked him out, but Carmella hit a superkick on Banks.

Carmella slowed the pace down, but Banks fought back.

Banks hit the running knees in the corner and followed up with the Three Amigos suplexes. Banks then hit the frog splash for a close near fall.

Banks attempted the Meteora, but Carmella avoided it. Banks went for the tilt-a-whirl head scissors, but Carmella dropped her on the top of her head.

Carmella nailed Banks with a superkick as she hung over the apron. Carmella attempted a hurricanrana off the top, but Banks rolled through for a near fall.

They went back and forth with pin attempts. Carmella rolled through into the Code of Silence, but Banks countered into the Bank Statment.

Carmella locked on a submission, but Banks rolled through for another near fall. Carmella became frustrated and charged at Banks but she locked on the Bank statement. Carmella briefly fought back. The finish came when Banks locked on the Bank Statement for the win.

In the back, Billie Kay approached Asuka about being her partner. Asuka turned her down and told her she’s not ready for Asuka.

The Hurt Business defeated The New Day to win the Raw Tag Team Titles

This was a really good tag team match with lots of fast-paced action.

Charley Caruso interviewed The New Day in the back before the match. Xavier Woods noted they fought The Hurt Business before, but they never fought big match New Day.

Kofi Kingston rocked Cedric Alexander with a superkick to start the match. The New Day was firmly in control as they isolated Alexander.

Shelton Benjamin slammed Woods down with a spinebuster to gain control of the match.

MVP gave Alexander a bottle of water at ringside. Kingston hit a double stomp on Benjamin for a near fall.

Kingston hit a dive onto Alexander at ringside. Woods hit a tornado DDT on Benjamin for a near fall.

Benjamin rocked Woods with a knee and sent him into the bottom turnbuckle. Alexander kicked Woods in the back for a near fall.

Alexander slowed the pace down. The heels isolated Woods and cut him off from his corner.

Woods fought back, and Kingston got the hot tag. In a cool spot, Kingston attempted the boom drop, but Benjamin picked him up for a powerbomb.

The Hurt Business attempted the Doomsday Device, but Kingston rolled through. Kingston hit the SOS of a near fall.  Alexander then hit the brainbuster for a very close near fall.

Benjamin and Kingston fought on the top rope. Benjamin ran up the top and hit a superplex.

Benjamin had the match won, but Alexander tagged himself in and hit the lumbar check for the win.

Benjamin was shocked that Alexander tagged himself in, but The Hurt Business celebrated after the match.

They recapped the Sami Awards and the leaked audio of Sami Zayn yelling at a crew member.

In the back, Zayn approached Kayla Braxton to find out who gave her the audio. He’s sure that it’s Big E. Braxton noted she’s a journalist and won’t reveal her sources.

Zayn was furious as she walked away.

Asuka & Charlotte Flair defeated Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles

Tom Philips gave an injury update on Lana. He noted she has an injured elbow and knee. Lana didn’t make an appearance, so she’s not putting Jax through a table tonight.

As was reported earlier today, Charlotte Flair ended up being Asuka’s partner for tonight. The commentators noted Jax injured Flair, but Flair and Asuka were feuding.

This was a fine match that started at a slow pace but picked up towards the end.

Baszler and Asuka traded hard kicks to start the match. Baszler attempted to stomp on Asuka’s arm, but she escaped. Flair got the tag and demanded Jax get in the ring. The faces were briefly in control until Jax sent Asuka into the ring post.

The heels isolated Asuka and cut her off from her corner. Baszler stomped on Asuka’s elbow and worked over her arm. Asuka fought back and attempted to make the tag, but Baszler pulled Flair off the apron.

Flair knocked Baszler down with a right hand. Flair got the hot tag and ran wild on the heels. They showed Ric Flair watching in the back.

Flair attacked Jax’s leg and sent her to the floor. Asuka rocked Baszler with a sliding knee on the apron. Flair then hit the moonsault to the floor, taking out both heels.

Asuka made the blind tag as Jax hit the Samoan drop on Flair. Baszler attempted the Kirifuda Clutch, but Flair tagged into the match.

The finish came when Asuka took out Jax with the hip attack. Baszler locked on the Kirifuda Clutch on Flair, but she rolled through. Flair then hit Natural Selection for the win.

In the back, Sami Zayn approached Big E and R-Truth. He accused Big E of leaking the audio. Zayn made the mistake of getting in Big E’s face.

TLC Match: Universal Champion Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman) defeated Kevin Owens to retain the title

This was a good TLC match, and they tried to make it different from the earlier match. They worked at a slower pace with less high-risk dangerous spots but still very brutal and unsafe in their own way.

Roman Reigns made his entrance first and watched as the referee hung the Universal title in the air. Suddenly, Kevin Owens jumped Reigns to start the match. Owens beat Reigns around ringside and hit a cannonball against the barricade.

Owens then hit a frog splash off the apron onto Reigns. Owens brought in a ladder, but Jey Uso ran in to stop him. Owens was ready and rocked Uso with a superkick. He continued to beat down Reigns.

Uso attempted a superkick, but Owens blocked it with a chair. Owens then attacked Uso’s leg and pillmanized his leg. Referees and officials took Uso to the back. Suddenly, Reigns hit the drive-by on Owens.

Reigns picked up the steps and hit Owens several times. He then hit Owens in the face with a ladder. Reigns destroyed Owens with chair shots and then set up two chairs in the ring.

Owens fought back and attempted to powerbomb Reigns through the chairs. Reigns countered and gave Owens a backdrop onto the chairs.

Reigns climbed up the ladder, but Owens cut him off with several chair shots. He followed up with a fisherman suplex onto an upright chair. Owens climbed up to the top of the ladder when Uso ran back out and pulled him down.

Owens and Uso were brawling when Reigns hit the Superman Punch. Uso brought two tables into the ring, but Owens fought back. He hit a superkick on Uso and the stunner on Reigns.

Owens set the ladder up, but Uso pulled him out of the ring. They fought around ringside until Owens gave Uso and pop-up powerbomb through the announce table. Owens then buried Uso under the announce table and climbed to the top of the ladder.

Reigns jumped back in, and they fought on the ladder. Reigns pulled Owens down and countered a superkick into a powerbomb on a ladder. He then gave Owens a back suplex on a ladder on its side.

Reigns dragged Owens to the floor and choke slammed him through a table. He then gave Owens a Samoan Drop through another table.

Reigns got back in the ring and climbed up the ladder, but Owens dragged himself back in the ring. Owens grabbed at Reign’s leg. He climbed back down and mocked Owens.

Owens slapped Reigns in the face. Reigns snapped and speared Owens through a table in the corner. Owens dragged himself back to his feet and taunted Reigns at ringside. Reigns went for the spear, but Owens moved, and Reigns crashed through the barricade.

Owens climbed up the ladder but Reigns cut him off. Owens fought back and gave Reigns the pop-up powerbomb through a table.

Owens climbed to the top and touched the title, but Uso cut him off again. Owens dropped down and gave Uso the stunner.

He climbed back up, but Reigns hit a low blow. Reigns then applied the guillotine submission, and Owens fell to the mat. Reigns then pulled down the title for the win.

After the match, a dejected Owens watched as Reigns celebrated in the ring.

They announced Intercontinteal Champions Sami Zayn defends against Big E on SmackDown this Friday night.

Firefly Inferno match: Randy Orton defeated The Fiend

This was just a basic brawl with the special effects of fire. There wasn’t much to the match, and it bordered on silly at times. It was like the fifth sequel of a bad horror movie. The psychology didn’t make sense either since it was unclear who was the face and heel.

There are no pinfalls, submissions, count-outs, or disqualifications in the match. The only way to win is to set a body part on fire. There’s no referee either.

Randy Orton came out wearing long black pants and a black hoodie. The Fiend kept his black jacket on as well.

Unlike past inferno matches, there was no fire around the ring or any fire at all. The match started with no fire. It appeared during the match after several minutes. Also, unlike previous inferno matches, the fire was not around the ring itself.

Instead, the fire was on the other side of the barricade with the fans and near the commentators. It was a cool visual to see the fire throughout the ThunderDome. Anytime there was a big move on the floor, the flames became bigger.

Orton and The Fiend had a brief staredown. Orton tried attacking The Friend, but it did not affect him.

The Fiend took over and rocked Orton with a cross-body block. The Fiend attempted Sister Abigail, but Orton countered with a backbreaker. The move didn’t hurt him and The Fiend jumped up to his feet. He then hit Sister Abigail.

The Fiend lifted his arms, and the fire finally appeared. They fought around ringside and teased Orton getting set on fire. The Fiend attempted to hit Orton with an ax, but Orton avoided it.

The Fiend then set up the rocking chair and covered it in gasoline. He placed Orton on the chair and set it on fire, but Orton moved in time. Orton briefly took over with an ax handle and a chain.

The Fiend fought back and set the ax handle on fire, but Orton cut him off. Orton then gave The Fiend the draping DDT off the apron.

Orton attempted the RKO on the floor, but The Fiend applied the mandible claw. He backed Orton into the flames, but Orton turned around and set The Fiend on fire.

Orton and The Fined jumped back in the ring. Orton then hit the RKO on The Fiend, who was still on fire. At first, Orton seemed afraid and checked on The Fiend. By this point, The Fiend wasn’t on fire anymore or moving.

Orton grabbed the gasoline and covered The Fiend in gas. He slowly lit a matchstick and tossed it on The Fiend. The Fiend’s body was set on fire and burned in the middle of the ring. The commenters were disgusted with Orton’s actions.

Clearly, they replaced The Fiend with a dummy when the camera was off of him. Orton celebrated as The Fiend’s body continued to burn in the ring.

WWE TLC live results: Two TLC matches, Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz

WWE’s final pay-per-view of the year takes place tonight as the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota hosts TLC.

Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane will defend their titles against Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair. Lynch and Charlotte have each had their battles with the Kabuki Warriors over the past few weeks and the champs issued a title challenge. Lynch and Charlotte accepted under the rules of a tables, ladders, and chairs match.

There will be several other gimmick matches as well. Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin will also have a TLC match, The New Day will defend the SmackDown Tag Team titles against The Revival in a ladder match, and Rusev takes on Bobby Lashley in a tables match.

Universal Champion Bray Wyatt will wrestle The Miz in a non-title match as himself, not as The Fiend. The Miz was last seen on SmackDown with Maryse tending to their daughter after she was found playing with one of Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House puppets.

Also on the main card, Aleister Black faces Buddy Murphy, and Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders will issue an open challenge.

The main card begins at 7 p.m. Eastern time, with the pre-show starting an hour before that and featuring Andrade vs. Humberto Carrillo.

**********

KICK-OFF SHOW

The Revival confronted Booker T at the desk and basically told him to get in the ring and fight if he was going to question them. They even encouraged him to find Stevie Ray.

Humberto Carrillo defeated Andrade (w/Zelina Vega) (12:38)

There were two quick breaks in the first five minutes to plug the PPV.

Andrade was cut somewhere on his face during the match, I think around the left eye. The referee tried to check on him but Andrade pushed him off. (The ref eventually did check on him.) Later in the match, Vic Joseph kept going on about the welts forming on Andrade’s body, completely ignoring the blood on his face.

There was a spot where Andrade did a double foot stomp off the top of the ring post, with Carrillo hanging from the ropes outside the ring. This got a “This is awesome” chant from the crowd. Carrillo did an inverted Frankensteiner off the top followed by a moonsault for the pinfall win. The crowd was happy. This was good.

Vega tried to check on Andrade after the match but he brushed her off and left.

Booker called The Miz a “badass Ryan Seacrest.”

Aleister Black said he had a feeling that he and Buddy Murphy were destined to do this again and again — unless Black put him down for good with a Black Mass.

TLC MAIN SHOW

The PPV intro was a Firefly Fun House segment. Bray Wyatt hanged ornaments on a ladder. He said it was the end of the year and it was time to reflect on the friends and enemies we’ve made along the way as they played clips to plug tonight’s top matches.

Ladder Match: Kofi Kingston & Big E defeated The Revival to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championships (19:03)

The Revival were beating down New Day and tried to whip Kingston into the side of the ring for a second time. However, Kingston leaped through the bottom rope and attempted a dive, but as he did, they dropped a ladder on him repeatedly, which looked painful.

They tried to attack again with the ladder but he again leaped over it and was able to hit a dive this time, driving the ladder into both men. Big E then won a tug of war with the ladder over both men and used it as a weapon. Big E missed an apron dive and crashed on the ladder. Revival drove the ladder into Big E’s groin, then dropkicked it into his groin again.

Kingston used a ladder on the Revival, Big E put Scott Dawson in a stretch muffler, then Kingston drove a ladder into his midsection. Revival tried to push the ladder over as Kingston climbed it, but he bounced off the top rope and hit Dawson with a tornado DDT, then took out Dash Wilder with a Trouble in Paradise. The crowd popped big for this, perhaps in part because they could tell Kingston almost lost his balance but still managed to pull this off.

The Revival managed to catch Kingston with a Shatter Machine as he came off the ladder. Big E then took out Wilder with a big spear through the ropes to the floor. Big E set up a ladder but Revival fought him off and Dawson suplexed him onto the ladder. It didn’t break as intended, so they put him on top of it and Wilder splashed Big E through it.

Revival began climbing but Kingston leaped on the ladder. They fought him off but Big E grabbed Wilder and gave him a Big Ending off the ladder. As Dawson reached for the belts, Kingston drove the belts into his face and he fell off the ladder through another ladder. Kingston grabbed the belts. The New Day retained.

This was very good. Hopefully everyone is fine. The crowd liked the New Day.

Baron Corbin told Kayla Braxton that he wasn’t worried about Roman Reigns and would show him who his master was.

They recapped Carrillo’s win over Andrade earlier. Jerry Lawler was very impressed with Carrillo’s moonsault. They also speculated on the dissension between Andrade and Vega.

Aleister Black defeated Buddy Murphy (13:39)

Black was in control until Murphy blocked a soccer kick and drove him into the post and steel steps. Black came up bleeding from the nose. Like on the pre-show match, Joseph didn’t mention the blood, but at least Lawler did. Murphy grabbed Black’s vest and was about to put it on but chucked it at Black instead. Black ducked and the vest might’ve hit Lawler.

Joseph and Samoa Joe kept talking about Black’s jaw being hurt and Lawler was practically screaming at them that Black’s nose might be broken. (So someone was probably telling them not to mention it but Lawler likely doesn’t care.) Black came back with strikes and a springboard moonsault for two.

They fought on the apron, then Black caught him with another springboard moonsault, this time to the outside. Black tossed him back in the ring and hit a knee strike for two. Murphy tied up Black in the ropes and hit four consecutive superkicks followed by a sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall. Murphy got the better of a strike exchange and hit a brainbuster for two.

They traded strikes again and Black nailed him with a Black Mass for the pinfall win. This was very good. The crowd was quiet but they seemed to appreciate the effort and popped big for the finish.

Charly Caruso interviewed Rusev, who was “elated” that Lana might marry Bobby Lashley because when she remarries, he doesn’t have to pay alimony. He said it didn’t matter what they had planned for tonight, because Lana would be picking splinters out of Lashley’s back. Rusev said he might be single but he was not alone because every day was Rusev Day.

Raw Tag Team Championship match: The Viking Raiders DCO Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (8:29)

The Viking Raiders issued an open challenge and the OC answered. Anderson said they were the best team in the world and they had the trophy to prove it. He also said they were the only team to beat the Raiders.

Four “fans” watched from ringside with a table full of KFC.

Ivar did a handspring elbow to both guys, which missed but they sold anyway. The Raiders gave Anderson a Viking Experience but Gallows broke up the cover. OC tossed Erik over the barricade, then Ivar wiped them out with a dive as the referee counted to ten. Double countout. The crowd booed the finish.

Anderson grabbed the KFC branded table and the crowd chanted “KFC.” Erik tossed some food off the table, which was booed, then they put Anderson through the table. This was lame. The crowd didn’t even pop that big for the table break.

The Miz let Braxton know that his family was safe and he has moved them to an undisclosed location. Miz called Bray Wyatt a monster, maybe even more so than the Fiend. Miz said Wyatt violated the sanctity of his home and this was the most important and personal match of his life. He wasn’t fighting as “The Miz” tonight, he was fighting as a man protecting his family.

Tables, Ladders & Chairs match: Baron Corbin defeated Roman Reigns (22:13)

Michael Cole said Corbin was alone because Reigns took out both Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. No mention of Roode’s suspension.

The match started outside the ring after Corbin sent his lackeys after Reigns. Reigns fought them off easily, then Reigns and Corbin fought through the crowd. When they eventually entered the ring, Corbin caught him with a Deep Six for two. After a while, Corbin drove a ladder into Reigns’ protected midsection, then lightly dropped it over his back.

Corbin hit Reigns a few times with a chair then placed it in the corner. Reigns came back with a clothesline, leaping clothesline, ten clotheslines in the corner, and a big boot. The crowd chanted for Roman. Corbin avoided a superman punch and clothesline, then followed with a chokeslam backbreaker.

Corbin mocked Reigns, then Reigns chucked him into the chair in the corner and followed with a superman punch for a nearfall. The crowd chanted for tables. Reigns set up a table in the ring, then Corbin hit him in the face with a can of dog food. Cole freaked out like he hit him with a brick. Corbin chokeslammed Reigns through the table for a nearfall.

Corbin set up the announce table but Reigns grabbed him and gave him a Samoan drop through a different announce table. Reigns circled the ring and went for a spear through the barricade, but Ziggler appeared out of nowhere and superkicked him. Corbin and Ziggler beat up a random stagehand as Ziggler yelled at him to listen to his king.

They were about to dump dog food on the guy but Reigns saved him, taking out both guys with a driveby dropkick. Corbin’s lackeys ran out and Reigns took them out one by one with a Kendo stick. The Revival ran out to attack Reigns but he eventually fought them off. Reigns then did an Undertaker dive onto a large group of bodies.

Ziggler chucked a chair in Reigns’ face, then gave him a superkick. Cole screamed about how unfair this match with no rules was. Corey Graves explained that this is what Reigns signed up for. The Revival gave Reigns a Shatter Machine, then Corbin gave him an End of Days on a chair for the pinfall win. Corbin pinned Reigns.

This wasn’t good. They somehow managed to have a boring TLC match.

Universal Champion Bray Wyatt defeated The Miz in a non-title match (6:35)

Wyatt came out to the Firefly Fun House music and graphics. He wore a sweater and jeans and wore the Universal title belt around his waist to the ring. He came out all happy and waved the crowd. He climbed on the announce table, which made Cole jump, and he posed for the fans. As he was about to enter the ring, he posed for the fans again and they all cheered.

The crowd loudly chanted “yowie wowie.” When the bell rang, Miz immediately caught Wyatt with a boot, then followed with knees in the corner. Wyatt tried to reason with him and told him to take it easy. Miz attacked him with knees and kicks.

Wyatt finally tried some offense but Miz fought him off and hit jogging knees in the corner. Wyatt grabbed him and set up for Sister Abigail but Miz slipped out and hit a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz didn’t go for a cover and instead rammed his face against the mat.

Miz tried a submission as the crowd fell silent. Wyatt laughed as Miz applied the hold and encouraged him to do it. Wyatt rolled out of the ring and drove his own shoulder against the barricade as the announcers speculated that he was trying to pop his shoulder back in.

Wyatt dodged a charged and gave Miz a Sister Abigail off the barricade. Miz barely beat a ten count, but Wyatt gave him another Sister Abigail for the pinfall win. The crowd was dead.

After the match, The Fiend appeared on the screen as the fans lightly chanted “let him in.” Wyatt looked at the screen and said, “Okay, I’ll do it.” Wyatt grabbed his Harley Quinn mallet from under the ring. Cole asked Grave if he saw the Fiend on the screen. Of course he saw. We can all see it. Before Wyatt could use the mallet, the lights began to go out.

Wyatt thought the Fiend was coming out, but when he turned around, there was a man in a hooded sweater. The man gave Wyatt a running knee. It was Daniel Bryan, who shaved his beard and also has short hair (basically how he looked in ROH). The crowd chanted “Yes” as Bryan continued to attack and hit another knee.

Bryan grabbed the mallet and was about to kill Wyatt, but the lights went out and Wyatt disappeared. Bryan led the crowd in Yes chants, then stared longingly at the title belt.

The match was a dud but I enjoyed the postmatch. It’s always fun watching Bryan beat people up.

Tables match: Bobby Lashley (w/Lana) defeated Rusev (13:29)

Lawler said he heard that Lana’s mugshot was being used as currency in the Nashville jail.

Rusev went for a table early on but Lana pulled it out of the ring. The distraction allowed Lashley to attack and hit a Dominator. Rusev fought back and gave him a vertical suplex on the ramp. Rusev tried to slam him through a table, but Lashley tipped the table over, slipped away and drove Rusev into the steel steps.

After a few hours, Rusev tried to push Lashley off the apron through a table but Lashley avoided it. Rusev hit him with the steel steps, walked all the way to the stage to grab a metal bike rack and then hit Lashley with that too. Rusev placed it on the apron, then Lashley drove him through it.

Lashley grabbed a Kendo stick, which we already saw in an earlier match, and attacked Rusev with it. Lashley tried to hit him in the head with it but Rusev grabbed it and attacked him with it.

Rusev superkicked Lashley, then Lana jumped on Rusev’s back and raked him in the eyes. Lana jumped off and Lashley drove Rusev into a table, which didn’t break, then immediately suplexed Rusev through a second table. Lashley wins. Crowd was dead for this too. Another boring match.

That’s three straight babyfaces losses. The last two stick out as babyfaces failing in what were effectively fair fights.

The Street Profits were speaking backstage when a brawl suddenly broke out beside them. Reigns was fighting Corbin. The New Day, Chad Gable, Buddy Murphy, Dolph Ziggler and The Revival were all fighting as well. The Street Profits joined in and put the boots to Murphy.

Randy Orton faces AJ Styles on Raw tomorrow.

Tables, Ladders & Chairs match: Asuka & Kairi Sane defeated Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair to retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships (25:54)

Charlotte and Lynch took turns chucking Sane on the announce tables. Asuka saved her friend by launching a chair into each woman. Sane then dropkicked a chair into Charlotte’s face. Lynch dropped Asuka face-first into the underside of a chair, then on to a ladder. Charlotte and Lynch then drove Asuka into the post.

Sane tried to chuck a chair in the ring but it bounced back off the top rope and might’ve actually hit her in the face. The crowd laughed at her, so she freaked out and starting chucking chairs everywhere.

Charlotte and Lynch went after her as she tried to hide under the ring. As they yanked her out, Sane reemerged with a fire extinguisher and blasted them in the face. This was a great reveal. Asuka then attacked with a bull rope.

They slammed Lynch on a ladder, then used the rope to tie her to it. They attacked Charlotte and tossed her over the barricade, then waved her goodbye. They took their time climbing the ladder, then Charlotte jumped in with and attacked them with a Kendo stick.

Charlotte tossed Asuka into a few chairs, then suplexed Sane into the barricade. Sane seemed to take a bad bump. Charlotte tried to untie Lynch from the ladder but Asuka attacked her with a chair.

Sane tried an elbow drop but Lynch got her knees up. Lynch also managed to kick Asuka, then broke free from the ropes (Charlotte had loosened them). Lynch put Asuka through a table with a diving leg drop from the turnbuckles to the outside. Lynch and Charlotte tried to put Sane through a table but she countered and dropped them both with a double DDT.

Sane placed them both on a table, then attempted a splash. Charlotte moved and Sane landed on Lynch, but the table didn’t break. This was followed by another messy sequence where Charlotte tried to spear Sane but they screwed it up. Charlotte seemed to say “enough of this shit!” then grabbed Sane and powerbombed her through a table, which was also a struggle.

Asuka gave Charlotte and German suplex and dumped a table on Lynch. Charlotte and Lynch fought back with chairs. The crowd booed this for some reason.

Charlotte went to the top for a moonsault but Asuka went after her and powerbombed her through a table on the outside. Lynch gave Asuka an Exploder twice into a ladder. (You could see Lynch communicated with Asuka on what to do next.)

Lynch climbed the ladder and almost grabbed the belts but Asuka yanked the ladder down with the bull rope that she tied to it earlier. Lynch fell out of the ring, then Asuka climbed the ladder and grabbed the belts. Asuka and Sane retain.

Asuka could only celebrate for a few seconds when the brawl from earlier spilled out into the arena. The OC and Viking Raiders were part of the brawl now too. The final shot was Reigns spearing Corbin off a tall thing onto a pile of bodies.

Hopefully, nobody got hurt in the main event. Sane, in particular, seemed to have a rough time and at some point, the match fell apart. There were three different spots I can think of off the top of my head where Sane might’ve gotten hurt. After all that, ending with that Reigns-Corbin brawl was silly.

If you didn’t see the show, it started well with the first two matches. Then the rest of the show happened.

WWE TLC live results: Kurt Angle returns to the ring, Styles vs. Balor

With a card that had to be revised due to a major shakeup in the days leading up to the show, WWE returns to pay-per-view as TLC takes place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota tonight.

Both Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt had to be pulled from the PPV due to medical issues. In Reigns’ place, Kurt Angle will wrestle in a WWE ring for the first time in over a decade as he teams with Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose against The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman & Kane in a tables, ladders, and chairs match.

Wyatt will be replaced by AJ Styles on the show, with Styles facing Finn Balor at the otherwise Raw-exclusive PPV. This will be the first time that Styles and Balor, both former leaders of the Bullet Club, have wrestled each other.

We’re looking for your thoughts on tonight’s show, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to [email protected]

Also scheduled for tonight, Asuka will make her main roster debut against Emma, Alexa Bliss will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Mickie James, Enzo Amore challenges Kalisto for the Cruiserweight title, and Rich Swann & Cedric Alexander team up to take on Jack Gallagher & Brian Kendrick.

On the pre-show, Sasha Banks faces Alicia Fox and Drew Gulak’s PowerPoint presentation continues. Our coverage begins with that before the main card starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********
Drew Gulak was told he was cut for time.  He was just doing a promo for the TV crowd.  He wants no more chanting, flying, flipping, coming off the top rope, chanting and then they went to a commercial while he complained that Elias has been given time on the PPV.  They teased the idea of an Elias vs. Jason Jordan angle.

SASHA BANKS VS. ALICIA FOX

Banks won a standard match using the bank statement after Fox missed an ax kick.  A few cool things, including Fox doing two great bridging Northern lights suplexes and a spinning backbreaker on the floor.

ASUKA VS. EMMA

A little longer than I expected for Asuka’s debut but of course she won with a high kick and the Asuka lock.  The crowd seemed into her.  It was definitely slower moving than her NXT matches.  Emma got some good offesne with the biggest thing pulling her by the air off the apron and throwing Asuka to the floor.

Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus were backstage doing an interview.  Sheamus said he wanted to Brogue kicked a gold medalist.  Miz said Kurt Angle would never have stepped in for Sheamus and Cesaro.  He said Kurt Angle only cares out himself and waited for the perfect moment to put himself in a main event against me.  Miz was taunting Angle, said Angle thinks he’s a super hero but he’ll be meeting a monster among men.  Strowman said told them to stay out of his way as he’s snuffing  out Angle, Rollins and Ambrose.  Kane showed up and confronted Strowman.  Miz after tonight with Angle done and Ambrose & Rollins broken down they will rule raw.  Kane said he’s turning the match into hell on Earth.  The story here is Miz & Cesaro & Sheamus are together and the other two are for themselves.

Elias is out.  Jason Jordan was throwing vegetabels adn bannana peels at him.  So that’s a new program.  And then the segment ended.

BRIAN KENDRICK & JACK GALLAGHER VS. CEDRIC ALEXANDER & RICH SWANN

Good match, best so far.  Short but all action with some cool moves.  Kendrick had the captain’s hook on Alexander, but Swann broke it up with a Phoenix splash.  Swann gave Kendrick a spin kick and then Alexander pinned Kendrick after the Captain’s hook.  The highlight was Alexander doing a running flip dive onto both Gallagher & Kendrick, and actually pretty much missed both and landed on his feet.

The whole show is being pushed around Kurt Angle’s return.

Alexa Bliss did an interview.  She doesn’t know what biscuit butt means and she said she likes her butt and it’s cute.  Mickie is just a mom, when I was young I idolized Mickie James, she’s gone toe to toe with Trish Stratus, Lita and Beth Phoenix.  Bliss said James talks about her good old days but now it’s just old.

ALEXA BLISS VS. MICKIE JAMES FOR WOMEN’S TITLE

Bliss pulled James’ shoulder  into the turnbuckles and hit the DDT for the pin.  So far favorites are up 4-0 although these  were pretty easy bouts to  call.  Bliss worked over the left shoulder during the match.   Match told a story, there was a hot slapfest after kind of a slow open.  The crowd disrespected them with a “We want tables” chant for no reason.

Charly Caruso interviewed. James.  She said she’s proud of her perforrmance and said she gave her heart and soul and hoped she proved she was worthy of the title shot and it won’t be her last time getting a title shot and she’ll win the title again.

Rollins, Ambrose and Angle were backstage.  Angle said he doesn’t know what he has left, but says he’ll give 100 percent.  Rollins gave Kurt a Shield jacket.  So he’ll be wearing the outfit and basically said Kurt was in The Shield.  The crowd popped for this.

Elias is out again.  Crowd booed him pretty heavy.  Jordan threw lettuce  at him again. He was pelting Elias with food.  Weird that the heel commentator was backing Jordan (Graves) and Michael Cole was backing Elias.

Enzo’s voice is almost gone.  He joked that he lost his voice.  He said his voice is the only thing I’m losing.  There are three types of people, people who make things happen like me, those who watch things happen like you fans who are losers, and the third type of person is the one who sits around and wonders what happened.  He did the SAWFT deal with the fans.

KALISTO VS. ENZO AMORE FOR CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE

Amore regained the title with a thumb to the eye when Enzo pulled the apron drape into the ring and the ref tried to pull it out of the ring.  Enzo used tthe Jordanzo for the pin.  The fans cheered the title change.  Nothing much to the match.  Kalisto kept working for a Salida del Sol but never got it.  Enzo did a cool flying DDT for a near fall.  There was a very light “We Want Neville” chant.

Enzo said he wanted to thank himself and told the fans he’s giving them a no thank you.

DEMON FINN BALOR VS. A.J. STYLES

Really good match.  Not close to a match of the year or anything but two great wrestlers both working hard.  Balor won witht he Wooo dropkick and a killer coup de gras for the clean pin.  They did the “too sweet” sign together after.  Balor did a running flip dive.  Styles tackled him over the German table.  They did most of their regular stuff.  Styles did a springboard Frankensteiner for a near fall.  It was very professional in the sense everything was good, everything made sense.  The crowd was very into it with “This is awesome chants” before the match even started..

JASON JORDAN VS. ELIAS

Elias was singing and said that he was having a match with Jordan.

The finish  Jrodan reversed a suplex into an inside cradle.  Samson kicked out before the three but his shoulder was actually down even though he kicked out.  But they will play it up like Elias had his shoudler up for controversy to set up a rematch and probably a longer program.  Jordan looked impressive here.  They were put in the death spot on the show but the work was solid and people were okay with it.

The Survivor Series commercial is built around Raw vs. Smackdown matches.

The Miz said he had a surprise at the end and said they were going to treat the other team like garbage and send them to the dump.

KURT ANGLE & DEAN AMBROSE & SETH ROLLINS VS. BRAUN STROWMAN & KANE & THE MIZ & CESARO & SHEAMUS IN A TLC MATCH

Long crazy match which ended when Angle & Rollins & Ambrose gave Miz a triple power bomb and pinned him.  The match told a ton of different stories.  At first the faces had the edge with tons oof chair shots.  Then Cesaro &  Sheamus came back with chair shots.  Rollins & Ambrose both came off high on ladders to splash Strowman & Kane both through two different announcers tables.  Angle did a shine spot with Gemran suplexes on everyone until Strowman broke up an ankle lock and powerslammed Angle through a table.  Angle was carried to the back to make it 5 on 2.  Then Strowman and Kane argued and Strowman shove down Kane.  Ambrose, who took a ton of punishment, was given a double crucifix bomb and bounced off the table that didn’t break.  They set the table up in the corner and Strowman threw Ambrose through the table.  Kane turne on Strowman and choke slammed himi through a gimmicked part of the stage.  Kane pulled down chairs hanging from the ceiling and the chairs all fell on Strowman.  This looks to be the Strowman face turn to feud with Kane.  Kane choke slammed Ambrose & Rollins through a table.  Ambrose landed badly again.  Stormwn recovered and threw Miz iuto the wall.  Strowman was beating on the heels until Kane put Strowman down.  All the heels beat him down and threw him into the back of a garbage truck.  In theory, Strowman was crushed into a million pieces in the garbage truck but he’ll be fine.  The truck drove off and that was it for Strowman.  Angle then came back out and destoryed Sheamus & Cesaro.  Kane went to give Angle a tombsone piledriver but Rollins hit Kane with  a chair to the back.  Rollins & Amborse gave Kane a double tackle through the barricade.  Miz hit the skull crushing finale on Angle, who kicked out.  Angle got the ankle lock on Miz, but Miz kicked Angle out of the ring.  Rollins gave Miz the knee, Ambrose gave him Dirty Deeds, Angle gave Miz the Angle slam and then they used the Shield triple power bomb on Miz for the pin.
