UFC 295 live results: Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira

The World’s Most Famous Arena welcomes the Octagon back for their traditional November stop as Madison Square Garden hosts UFC 295: Prochazka vs. Pereira on pay-per-view.

The card features two title fights and two new champions will be crowned. In the main event, the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship is on the line as Jiri Prochazka looks to regain the title he had to vacate due to injury as he takes on former UFC Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira. Prochazka returns to action after 17 months of inactivity, mainly due to major shoulder surgery, looking to get the title that he never lost back, while Pereira looks for his second UFC title and to get revenge for his mentor, Glover Teixeira, who was the man Prochazka defeated to win the title.

In the co-main event, an Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship is on the line as Sergei Pavlovich goes against Tom Aspinall. This replaces the original main event of the show, which was supposed to be UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defending against Stipe Miocic, but a torn pec muscle forced Jones out, and Miocic was subsequently pulled. Pavlovich and Aspinall both take this fight on less than two weeks’ notice.

The rest of the main card sees former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade battle Mackenzie Dern, Matt Frevola takes on Benoit Saint-Denis in an exciting lightweight match-up, and featherweights Diego Lopes and Pat Sabatini square off in the main card opener.

UFC on ESPN+ 80 live results: Sergei Pavlovich vs. Curtis Blaydes

The Octagon is back inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas this weekend for UFC on ESPN+ 80 — another card full of action, headlined by a pivotal battle in the heavyweight division.

Third-ranked Sergei Pavlovich battles fourth-ranked Curtis Blaydes in the main event in what could end up being a title eliminator in the heavyweight division. Pavlovich comes into this fight on quite the run, having won five straight fights, all by first round knockout. Blaydes, a longtime heavyweight contender looking to finally earn a title shot, comes into this fight on the heels of three straight wins.

Also on the main card is a middleweight bout pitting Brad Tavares against Bruno Silva, a lightweight fight between veterans Bobby Green and Jared Gordon, a women’s strawweight fight between Iasmin Lucindo and Brogan Walker, and a battle of welterweight prospects pitting Jeremiah Wells against Matthew Semelsberger kicks off the main card.

Gomis lands to the body early with some kicks. Marshall landed a counter right hand. Both swing and Marshall grabs Gomis and pushes him against the fence. They separate. Gomis slips on a kick. They trade kicks. Marshall is throwing a lot but is barely landing anything. Gomis has landed only slightly more. Gomis with a body kick. Marshall shoots for the takedown and pushes it against the fence. They remain tied up to end the round. 10-9 Gomis.

Marshall lands a right hand. Gomis lands a quick jab. Marshall lands a left hand as he was pressing forward and Gomis grabs the body. Gomis lands a knee and Marshall is able to reverse and now has Gomis pressed against the fence but they break. Gomis lands a leg kick. Marshall is still just mainly hitting air. Gomis with a quick combo. Gomis lands a left hand followed by a leg kick. We have a timeout for a groin strike. They get back to action and Gomis lands a leg kick. Usman is landing to the body and legs as he has Tafa pressured along the fence. Tafa lands a left hand as they break. Tafa hurts Usman with a right hand. Tafa looking for the kill as he’s throwing wild shots. Tafa lands an elbow and Usman is wobbly. Usman pushes it against the fence. They break and Tafa with a high kick and they trade. 10-9 Usman.

They trade and both land big shots. Usman grabs the single leg and pushes it against the fence and scores the takedown. Usman is working from the top inside the half-guard and is landing some punches. Tafa isn’t doing much from the bottom. Usman landing to the head and body. Usman with shots from the top. 10-9 Usman, 20-18 Usman.

Usman gets an early takedown against the fence and is landing right hands. Usman still controlling from the top as he keeps punching and Tafa can’t do anything to get out from the bottom. Tafa is able to create an opening and attempts to get up but Usman still has the back as they stand. Tafa lands some short punches as Usman is trying to get it back down. Both landing to the body against the fence but not a lot of action and they are separated by the referee. Both land combos. Dumont lands a nice combination. Rosa with a combo and some knees late. 10-9 Rosa.

Jackson has his hand in Yahya’s glove and it is stood up. Jackson lands a head kick. Jackson drops Yahya with a counter shot and finishes it off with some shots from the top. Wells is able to get up but Semelsberger gets a takedown. They’re scrambling as Semelsberger still is in control. Wells is now looking for the takedown against the fence.
