Rapper Lil Uzi Vert releases ‘Nakamura’ song

A nod to WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura is featured on the latest album by rapper Lil Uzi Vert.

Lil Uzi Vert’s highly anticipated album “Pink Tapes” was released on Friday and includes a song titled “Nakamura.” In the song, Lil Uzi Vert samples Nakamura’s “The Rising Sun” theme music and raps over it. The song can be heard below:

“The Rising Sun” debuted as Nakamura’s theme music when he signed with WWE in 2016.

At WrestleMania 39 earlier this year, Lil Uzi Vert performed his song “Just Wanna Rock” as part of The Usos’ entrance.

The release of “Pink Tapes” comes just one day before Nakamura competes in Money in the Bank. Nakamura will be part of the men’s ladder match at Saturday’s pay-per-view in London, England. Nakamura, Ricochet, Damian Priest, Santos Escobar, LA Knight, Butch, and Logan Paul are the ladder match participants.

Leading into Money in the Bank, Nakamura has been involved in a feud with Ricochet and Bronson Reed. Nakamura defeated Reed last month to qualify for the ladder match.

Ricochet defeated Nakamura on Raw this past Monday.

WWE WrestleMania 39 night one notes: John Cena, KSI, Lil Uzi Vert

The following are notes from night one of WWE WrestleMania 39 from Los Angeles, California.

John Cena

The Nikes Cena wore during his match with Austin Theory were a shoutout to the famous Kowloon restaurant in Massachusetts who sold custom pairs earlier this year. The restaurant is well-known for hosting pro wrestlers over its 70 years in existence and features a ton of memorabilia.

KSI

As those who watched the event know, YouTube star and musician KSI was the person in the PRIME bottle during the Logan Paul vs. Seth Rollins match. The two boxed against each other twice and then went into business together as founders of the popular drink company.

Jasper Randall

The conductor that led the crowd for Seth Rollins’ music is, indeed, a real-life composer that has worked on a slew of top entertainment projects.

Snoop Dogg

Not only was the legendary rapper the co-host of the show along with The Miz, he also drove Rey Mysterio out to the stage as part of his entrance, complete with the gold WWE Championship belt he famously lost and then found.

Lil Uzi Vert

In a night featuring several musicians, the 27-year-old Vert performed “Just Wanna Rock” as part of The Usos’ entrance.

Dan Barry

Longtime indie wrestler Dan Barry was one of the lead guards helping escort Dominik Mysterio to the ring. The 40-year-old has been a wrestler since 2003.

Everything Else:

  • This was Michael Cole’s 22nd WrestleMania, the most of any announcer.
  • In the Rhea Ripley/Charlotte Flair match, Cole noted it was the first time in WWE history that the wrestlers, ring announcer and referee were all female.
  • Attendance was announced as 80,497.
