Max Caster makes AEW return during Dark: Elevation tapings

Max Caster returned to AEW at tonight’s Dark: Elevation tapings following controversial comments made on a recent episode of Dark.

During tonight’s tapings, which were held prior to Dynamite, Caster helped Acclaimed tag team partner Anthony Bowens defeat Griff Garrison, then helped him to the back after the match. The Acclaimed have been feuding with The Varsity Blonds in recent weeks.

A rap by Caster that aired on the August 3 episode of Dark contained references to Simone Biles and her mental health situation during the Olympics, PCR tests being fake, and a sexual joke on 19-year-old wrestler Julia Hart. This episode of Dark was later taken down and re-uploaded with the rap removed.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan said that it should have been caught in editing and would be overseeing the editing of Dark in the future.

“We deleted the episode and re-posted it with that edited out, but it shouldn’t have aired,” Khan said. “I put such tight controls on Dynamite, and this would never have happened there because Max’s raps, I have always gone over them with him. And, frankly, every segment on Dynamite, I don’t script or write wrestlers’ promos, but the bullet points, I give. In this case, it shouldn’t have happened. What will happen going forward is I will be taking over the editing of Dark and Elevation myself. I was already editing Dynamite and Rampage. And I do a lot, and now I will also be editing Dark and Elevation. It’s unfortunate that it came to that.”

Julia Hart vs. Thunder Rosa added to AEW Fight for the Fallen

A new match has been added to AEW Dynamite’s Fight for the Fallen event.

Julia Hart of the Varsity Blondes will face Thunder Rosa in a singles match. It was confirmed this week that Thunder Rosa had officially signed with the company. This match will mark the debut of Rosa as a full-time wrestler for AEW, officially signing with the company last week. She also recently appeared at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary event as a mystery opponent for Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo.

Hart accompanies Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. to the ring, and together they form the Varsity Blonds. She has mostly wrestled on AEW Dark and Elevation, though lost to Penelope Ford on the June 6th edition of Dynamite.
