ROH TV results: Katsuyori Shibata vs. Bobby Fish; big six-man tag match

Ring of Honor television from this past week featured what was supposed to be Bullet Club vs. Los Ingobernables. However, it didn’t quite work out that way. Plus, Bobby Fish defended the TV title against NEVER champion Katsuyori Shibata.

Jay Lethal, Michael Elgin & Kyle O’Reilly defeated Adam Cole, Hangman Page & Yujiro Takahashi

A six-man tag match announced last week began as Bullet Club vs. Jay Lethal, Tetsuya Naito & EVIL. As the match progressed, Adam Cole squared off with Lethal. Suddenly, Naito and EVIL both bailed on the match, leaving Lethal outnumbered as they left the scene.

Lethal was being pummeled when Michael Elgin came down to be a substitute tag partner for Lethal. Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness gave his blessing. In storyline, Elgin is the next challenger for Cole’s world title at the next pay-per-view.

After a hot tag, Elgin cleaned house on Bullet Club. As the Club cut off Elgin, Kyle O’Reilly stormed to the ring to volunteer as another substitute tag partner. O’Reilly ran wild after tagging in. He eventually squared off with his rival, Cole, as O’Reilly wants both revenge and a future title shot.

Despite being beaten down while being outnumbered earlier in the match, Lethal scored the deciding pinfall after hitting Takahashi with the Lethal Injection and covering him.

After the match, all three babyfaces glared at Cole. Each of the three has their own issues with him. Lethal is the former champion looking to regain his title, Elgin is the next challenger in line, and O’Reilly continues his blood feud with Cole.

Later in the show, Lethal demanded a match against Naito for his treachery in bailing on him. McGuinness granted him a match at the next PPV. He also reminded Lethal of the last time Lethal “begged for a match,” referring to Lethal losing the title to Cole after their feud became personal.

ROH World Television Champion Bobby Fish defeated Katsuyori Shibata to retain his title

They exchanged kicks and strikes early on. As the match unfolded, Fish began to work a leg. Prince Nana came down to ringside during the match. Nana provided guest commentary as he supposedly was scouting for Donovan Dijak, who faces the winner at the next PPV.

Fish was working over Shibata when he fired up. Shibata began to pummel Fish. Shibata went for the penalty kick but Fish dodged the attempt and applied an ankle hook submission.

(Photo: stereo submission holds)

As Fish was applying a leglock, Shibata countered with one of his own. Both had each other locked in submission holds.

The pace quickened in the closing moments as they exchanged strikes and suplexes. Shibata went for an armbar but Fish fought to counter. Then, Shibata went for a triangle choke and Fish countered by bridging into a cover and pinned him.

Dijak walked out on the stage to stare at Fish. Shibata also indicated that he wanted a rematch.

In other news, McGuinness announced the suspension of Steve Corino is over and he will return to commentary on the next episode.

Also on the next episode that begins airing in syndication this weekend, it’s Kazuchika Okada & Roppongi Vice vs. Kamaitachi & The Addiction.

  • Jay Briscoe vs. Hangman Page
  • Lio Rush vs. Jay White vs. Donovan Dijak vs. Kamaitachi in a TV title number one contenders match

JAY WHITE VS. LIO RUSH VS. DONOVAN DIJAK VS. KAMAITACHI FOR THE TOP CONTENDER FOR THE TV TITLE

Dijak got the pin on Rush using feast your eyes, which is a fireman’s carry into a knee, like a GTS but not exactly.  All action match.  Rush was the flashiest of the four with several dives including a reverse huracanrans on the floor.  Dijak, who was twice hte size of the other three, did a springboard screw plancha.  Looks like we’re having trouble witht he mic’ing but there were chants and stuff.

Silas Young did an interview anti-New Japan saying New Japan guys get all the good spots when they come in and made fun of all the fans being nerds.

KATSUYORI SHIBATA VS. SILAS YOUNG

The crowd reacted real big for Shibata,  Shibata won as expected with the choke and penalty kick.  Young got a lot of offense including a split legged moonsault.  The two traded slaps after the match and then shook hands and stared each other down after the match.  Match was fine, they built to a big spot where Shibata was about to head-butt Young but Young slapped him.

TAMA TONGA & TANGA ROA & YUJIRO TAKAHASHI VS.  ROCKY ROMERO & BARETTA & TORU YANO

This was mostly built around Yano’s comedy.  Yano pinned Takahashi with a low blow.  After the match, The Bulet Club beat down Chaos and in paricular Yano.  Hangman Page put the noose on Yano’s neck until Jay Briscoe made the savae.  This set up Briscoe vs. Page

JAY BRISCOE VS. HANGMAN PAGE IN AN ANYTHING GOES MATCH

This was a long brutal match.  This was to put Page over on Jay and make him a star.  The finish saw Page block a Jay driller on the apron and instead used the rights of passage, which is an Omori driver on Jay  through the table.  Both were hurt as the table took a chunk out of Page’s left knee and Jay was bleeding badly from the back.  Page then used the bullrope to choke Briscoe out and then gave him another rights of passage in the ring for the pin.  They put it over like this was the biggest win in Page’s career.  There were lots of spots with the noose and with chairs throguhout the match.  The crowd seemed like they really liked it.  We’ll try and see how Page is because he was screaming in pain regarding his knee, finished the match and seemed like he was hurting bbad as soon as it was over.

The Boys had the Okada dollar bills and Castle said he understands The Boys love New Japan.  He said he loves New Japan but he loves dropping people on their heads and ate an Okada bill.

KAZUCHIKA OKADA VS. DALTON CASTLE

The crowd loved Okada.  They’re chanting his name and throwing streamers.  Good match although it struggled early.  Castle got a lot of offense but the fans never truly believed he could win.  He even did the bang a rang but Okada rolled out of the ring to avoid the pin.  Castle did a lot of different suplexes.  They teased that The Boys were big Okada fans and at one point they were helping him.  Okada won getting out of the bang a rang, hit the tombstone piledriver and rainmaker for the pin.  Both shook hands after and both men and The Boys all posed together at the end.

BOBBY FISH VS. MARK BRISCOE FOR THE TV TITLE

Fish retained with an exploder into the turnbuckles and a falcon arrow.  Earlier Briscoe kicked out of the falcon arrow and Fish kicked out of the froggy bow.  This was solid and the crowd did some chants but something was missing.  It was hard hitting early and went long with the near falls.  Not sure if the crowd micing is hurting this or it’s the crowd into moves but not the match.  Hard to say from TV.  It’s also seemed like the crowd was more into seeing New Japan stars live than seeing ROH major matches.

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN VS. HIROSHI TANAHASHI & MICHAEL ELGIN VS. TETSUYA NAITO & EVIL FOR TAG TITLES

Daniels & Kazarian retained in a great match with a clever finish.  Tanahashi was on the top rope and Daniels touched his boot as a tag.  Tanahashi hit the high fly flow on Evil and went for the pin but technically Daniels was the legal guy and he jumped in and cradled Evil while Tanahashi was on top so they retained the titles.  Matt Taven did the heel commentary trying to be obnoxious and did a real good job of that.  Elgin was the star of the match doing all kinds of power moves like a German suplex on Daniels & Kazarian at the same time, the fallaway on Naito & Evil at the same time and he even did a running flip dive on everyone.  Naito and Tanahashi were really over with the crowd.  Tanahashi & Elgin seemed on the verge of winning when Kamaitachi came out and distracted which allowed Daniels to hit both Tanahashi & Elgin with belt shots and Kazarian to hit Evil with one.

JAY LETHAL VS. ADAM COLE FOR THE ROH TITLE

Cole ended the one year plus title reign after an Ushigoroshi, a shining wizard and another Ushigoroshi.  The match saw them kick out of each others’ big moves including Lethal kicking out of the Canadian Destroyer off the ropes and Cole kicked out of the Lethal injection.  Long match and crowd loved it at the end with the fans on their feet and going crazy for the near falls.  Afte the match Kyle O’Reilly showed up durign the celebration and cltheslined Cole.  O’reilly laid himn out with a brainbustrer so it looks like Cole vs. O’Reilly coming up at All-Star Extravaganza at the end of next month.  Among the highlights were Lethal doing an elbow off the top rope to a table on the floor about two-thirds of the way to the other side and Cole moved and Lethal crashed through and busted his head open.  It took forever to set up the spot because Lethal couldn’t find where the table was under the ring and when he did find it, it was covered in streamers and he had to get rid of the streamres.  Lethal also did five straight topes, but on the sixth Cole sidestepped him and Lethal crashed into the barricade.

ROH TV results: Death Before Dishonor go-home show

In the final episode before the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, Ring of Honor television featured a contract signing between Jay Lethal and Adam Cole for their world title match this Friday night. Also, the Young Bucks must go through Roppongi Vice to become the next contenders for the tag team titles.

After opening with a video package recapping the feud between Lethal and Cole, the show started with the last two Top Prospect tournament winners in a match against one another.

Donovan Dijak w/ Prince Nana defeated Lio Rush

In adhering to the Code of Honor, they went to shake hands before the match. The height difference between the two was quite noticeable. Dijak played on that by mocking Rush when he crouched down to shake Rush’s hand, smirking as he looked him in the eyes.

The smaller Rush got ragdolled by Dijak as he got thrown around early on. He came back and looked to have the advantage after Dijak crashed into a guardrail. Nana caused a distraction and got shoved down by Rush in the process. However, the distraction allowed Dijak to gain the advantage.

Still, Rush made another comeback that led into him doing a springboard off the apron into a corkscrew plancha.

The pace quickened and they exchanged near falls in the latter half of the match. Lots of flying from Rush then Dijak would counter with power moves. When Dijak gave Rush a chokebreaker (chokeslam into a backbreaker), Nana ordered him to do it again. Rush countered and hit a splash off the top for a near fall.

The crowd was really into the match at this point. Dijak went to set him up for his Feast Your Eyes finisher, but Rush countered that with a crucifix to score the deciding pinfall. Afterwards, Dijak attacked Rush and started giving him a beatdown. Jay White ran in to make the save. Kamaitachi ran down to attack White. They all began brawling before being separated. This sets up a match at Death Before Dishonor.

Dalton Castle, with The Boys, was cutting a promo when The Cabinet interrupted so they could make political puns and threaten Castle.

Footage from earlier in the day showed Shane Taylor and Keith Lee attacking War Machine as they arrived to the building. They beat them down and left them laying, setting up a future match.

At ringside, Kevin Kelly interviewed “Hangman” Adam Page. He talked about the Bullet Club wanting to have all the titles they could get. He mentioned wanting the Briscoes IWGP heavyweight tag team titles, which was referring to a match from Japan last week on the G1 finals card.

Page said the issue with him and Jay Briscoe is also personal. Briscoe came down to ringside to confront Page and they had a pull-apart. The two meet in a match this Friday night on the PPV.

Highlights from footage taped earlier had tag champions The Addiction bragging about having the night off since their originally scheduled opponents, the Motor City Machine Guns, were out due to an injury.

Roppongi Vice came out to challenge the champs, then the Young Bucks interrupted and suggested making the match a three-way dance. Instead, an impromptu match with the Bucks vs. RPG Vice was made to determine new contenders for a tag title match in two weeks.

The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi Vice

The Addiction provided guest commentary. Matt Jackson and Rocky Romero started off with several exchanges until Romero went for an eye poke only for Matt to too sweet him in the eye. Romero cut him off moments later. Romero worked over Matt until tagging in Trent Baretta, who looked to run wild. Nick Jackson jumped in the fray to knock both Baretta and Romero off the apron.

Shortly thereafter, the action spilled to the outside where the Bucks both did dives out to ringside, spoofing Kenny Omega’s Terminator routine in doing so. However, the Bucks were soon cut off and Baretta picked up Nick so Romero could hit a flying knee off the apron.

RPG Vice got heat on Nick, building to a hot tag. Matt ran wild with a series of moves before hitting a superkick on Romero, followed by superkick on Baretta. Matt jumped off the top with an elbow drop for a near fall. Romero jumped in to help cut off a crotch-chopping Matt. Back-and-forth action for a bit before Nick saved Matt from a double team.

The Bucks superkicked the trash-talking Addiction as they sat at the announce table. That started a superkick party that led into Nick doing a 450 splash as Baretta was draped on the ropes for a near fall.

The crowd started a “Meltzer” chant as the Bucks set up for their finisher. The Addiction broke it up by trying to interfere. Nick stopped them with a moonsault to the outside. Baretta hit his Dudebuster finisher for a near fall.

Baretta gave Nick a German suplex off the top and Romero did a tope to the outside on Matt. Baretta hit a running knee and went to cover Matt, but Matt hooked him in a crucifix and got the pin as the crucifix appeared to be the key to victory in both matches on this episode.

Jay Lethal and Adam Cole contract signing and melee

Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness presided over the contract signing for the world title match at the PPV. Challenger Adam Cole sat down at at the table. Champion Jay Lethal tossed his chair out of the ring, choosing to stand.

Cole spoke first and tried to belittle Lethal. Cole told Lethal that the now infamous head shaving was not personal. Rather, he said it was a message that he can take from Lethal as he pleases. Cole added he plans on stealing the title instead of them stealing the show.

Lethal took his shirt off and asked McGuinness where to sign the contract. Before signing, Lethal wanted to point out something to Cole. In the past, Lethal said his matches were about the world title. This time it’s different because it’s personal. He wants revenge for the head shaving.

Cole taunted him by saying he was signing away the world title when he signed the contract. Lethal produced a pair of scissors and slammed them down on the table. Then, he smashed Cole’s head into the table and a brawl broke out.

Cole was getting the better of Lethal when Lethal hit him with a low blow. The Young Bucks ran down to pull Cole out of the ring to safety. Lethal raised the title overhead and sneered at Cole as the show closed.

ROH TV results: Jay Lethal defends his title against Colt Cabana

This week, Ring of Honor television featured a world title match with Colt Cabana challenging Jay Lethal to headline the first in a series of episodes taped in Philadelphia. The underlying focus of the episode was building towards the upcoming Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

The show opened with a recap of the head shaving perpetrated by Bullet Club when they shaved Lethal bald.

In the first bout of a two match show, Jay White shined in his second televised match in ROH.

Jay White defeated Will Ferrara

Though the match was a showcase for White, it was far from one-sided. Ferrara got a lot of offense, starting early on when White kept trying to escape a wristlock. Later in the match, White grounded Ferrara and applied a wristlock, wrenching and pushing the limits of hyperextending it.

White then eased on the arm, only to hyperextend Ferrara’s fingers. On commentary, Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness put over the skills of White and his knowledge of the fundamentals. White would soon explode with a flurry of offense that led to a brainbuster and missile dropkick.

Ferrara more than held his own and did a tope dive through the ropes at one point. He even got several near falls that included using a la magistral cradle and later a tornado DDT. Playing off the joint lock earlier on, Ferrara found himself unsuccessful in a slugfest with a wounded hand.

White tried to finish Ferrara but Ferrara kicked out at two. White then hoisted him up and executed the Kiwi Crusher to score the pinfall.

In an announcement that accompanied a video hyping Katsuyori Shibata, Silas Young was revealed as the opponent for Shibata at Death Before Dishonor.

Fish Tank or Chicken Shack?

Mark Briscoe and Bobby Fish took part in an odd talking segment. Though it was billed as the Fish Tank, Mark stormed to the ring first, saying that was communist propaganda and other whatnot. So, he was taking over and dubbing it the Chicken Shack.

A dapper Bobby Fish entered the scene wearing a suit and holding his TV title belt. He noted the difference in appearance between himself and Mark. Fish boasted about how he was dressed and said Mark looked like “an unmade bed.”

The conversation was still fairly jovial until Mark mentioned their upcoming title match at Death Before Dishonor. Fish unleashed a scathing promo on Mark, referring to him as “Jay Briscoe’s little brother.”

As Mark appeared ready to fight, security stepped in to hold Mark back. Fish kept cutting a promo on Mark. He concluded by vowing to retain his title and emphasized that he was the WORLD TV champion.

In a backstage promo, The Addiction bragged about themselves and threatened War Machine.

ROH World Champion Jay Lethal defeated Colt Cabana to retain his title

Though this was a rematch from Global Wars, the dynamic between the two was much different than their last encounter. With Jay Lethal now the top babyface instead of the lead heel as he was previously, it was a different match. Likewise, their first match had a non-finish while this ended decisively.

Lethal played a role more akin to a touring NWA world champion from a bygone era. Though his moves and style were contemporary and he was a babyface, he displayed a subtle cocky side that allowed the audience to rally around Cabana down the stretch.

Despite being typecast as a comedy act, Cabana proved in this match he is so much more than that.

Cabana displayed his knowledge of the British style early on, doing some reversals and counters. They started off methodical, but quickened the pace from there and gradually upped the intensity leading to a tope dive trifecta by Lethal.

At one point, Cabana went to apply the Billy Goat’s Curse. Lethal countered and Cabana leapt into a splash for a two count. Lethal cut off Cabana and hit the Lethal Combination, which led into Hail to the King (elbow off the top). Cabana kicked out of the subsequent cover for a near fall.

Just as Lethal seemed victorious upon hitting the Lethal Injection, Cabana withstood Lethal’s finisher and kicked out. Moments later, Cabana dropped Lethal across the top rope with the Chicago Skyline Drop for another near fall.

After a slugfest developed, Cabana smacked Lethal with a hip attack for a two count. Soon after, Lethal finished Cabana with a Lethal Injection for the pinfall win.

Following the match, Lethal wanted to speak with matchmaker Nigel McGuinness about possibly granting him a match with Adam Cole, who McGuinness previously banned from receiving a title shot. Nigel refused to lift the ban and said it would look hypocritical.

Cole interrupted them, claiming this was a farce, and speculated it was all a plot to make Lethal look like a fighting champion. Cole ran Lethal down some more before calling him a “little bitch.”

Lethal freaked out, turned to McGuinness, and began pleading for the match. Lethal got down on his knee to beg McGuinness. Finally, McGuinness agreed and the match was made for Death Before Dishonor.

On the next episode of ROH, the contract signing with Adam Cole and Jay Lethal, plus a tag team title match.

The story of a Lethal head shaving in three acts

Ring of Honor television wrapped up a series of episodes taped in Concord, NC, with a major angle. In doing so, ROH World Champion Jay Lethal is now cemented in a role as the babyface protagonist opposing the heel antagonist Bullet Club. However, Lethal is also now bald after a dastardly deed.

ACT I: The Decree

On a previous episode of ROH, Kyle O’Reilly was set to challenge Jay Lethal for the world title. Adam Cole, along with the Bullet Club, vowed that O’Reilly would never be champion. The Bullet Club attacked O’Reilly, with Cole smashing a chair on O’Reilly’s shoulder. An injured O’Reilly looked to be out of the title match.

Medical personnel taped up O’Reilly’s shoulder and he promised to wrestle for the title. Lethal looked concerned about going through with the match. Still, he defended the title against O’Reilly. They had a lengthy match where O’Reilly worked with basically one arm.

Just as he would appear defeated, O’Reilly fought back. Nevertheless, overcoming the injury was too much for O’Reilly, who fell victim to a Lethal Injection and was pinned.

After the match, the Bullet Club ran in and once again attacked O’Reilly. They were pummeling him when Lethal ran back down the aisle, joined by Bobby Fish to make the save. O’Reilly laid in a heap as the Bullet Club smirked and sneered as they backed away.

Fed up with the attacks by the Bullet Club, authority figure and matchmaker Nigel McGuinness made an official decree. He said that as long as he is in charge, Cole will never get another shot at the world title.

ACT II: The Challenge

On the following TV show after McGuinness made his decree, Lethal opened the show with an in-ring promo. Lethal has seemingly been slowly turning babyface over the last few months. He definitely was no longer a heel. On this promo opening the show, he most definitely was the protagonist.

Lethal said the Bullet Club attack on O’Reilly just wasn’t right, and he wanted to correct things. He noted the main event on this episode was The Young Bucks vs. The Briscoes. Lethal asked McGuinness to make the match a six-man tag. Lethal wanted to himself and Cole added to the match.

McGuinness agreed and the main event became a six-man tag match. That would be rising action for the main plot as other subplots developed.

ACT III: The Dastardly Deed

Jay Lethal & The Briscoes defeated Adam Cole & The Young Bucks

Matt Taven provided guest commentary. He was decent enough, but him being out there distracted from the main story. During the Bullet Club entrance, Cole hinted at the deed to come when he spoke into the camera. The match itself was action-packed in the beginning before it settled down, only to get wilder by the finish.

The action built to Nick Jackson shoving Mark Briscoe off the top rope. Mark crashed through a table at ringside. Sold as him being too injured to continue, security tried to remove him from ringside. Mark struggled to free himself, though he still looked too injured to continue.

McGuinness stopped doing commentary after saying he would ensure Mark is taken away for medical attention. So, the authority figure exits the scene.

With Mark out of the match, the Bullet Club has a three-on-two advantage against Lethal and Jay Briscoe. This reinforces Lethal as the babyface protagonist to the heel antagonists. Though he is worked over some, he and Briscoe still make a comeback.

When the match breaks down and everyone starts brawling all at once, Lethal delivers the Lethal Injection to Cole. Lethal then used a schoolboy to roll up Matt Jackson for the deciding pinfall.

Done with commentary, Taven left ringside. Therefore, the only ROH personnel on the scene were Kevin Kelly and an inadequate security team. The Bullet Club attacked both Lethal and Briscoe after the bell. Cole grabbed a steel chair and struck the outnumbered Jays. Cole gave Briscoe a Jay Driller on a chair, laying him out.

The Bullet Club hit Lethal with a triple superkick. Cole then retrieved a black bag. First, he pulled out scissors and cut off the the long braids of Lethal. Then, he grabbed electric clippers and shaved Lethal’s head. Cary Silkin even made a cameo appearance trying to stop the Bullet Club, but to no avail.

As the show closed, the world champion was bald.

On the next episode of ROH that begins airing this weekend, Lethal defends the ROH World Championship in a rematch with Colt Cabana.

ROH Aftershock Baltimore, MD, live results: Moose vs. Chris Daniels; Bullet Club: Women of Honor

Submitted by Aaron Keeler from the William J. Myers Pavilion. Thanks to Lex for additional details.

Crowd estimated around 500 or so | Kevin Kelly & Matt Taven on commentary

Women Of Honor Pre-Show —

– Taeler Hendrix def. “Crazy” Mary Dobson

Good match to start off the WOH show. Good brawling at ringside during the match as well.

– Veda Scott def. Jenny Rose

Rose was introduced as being fresh from the ROH dojo. Definitely looked good in defeat. Later saw her up in the stands filming her surroundings. Have to think this was an emotional moment for her.

– Deonna Purrazo, Amber Gallows, & Kennadi Brink beat Sumie Sakai, Faye Jackson & Solo Darling after Brink pinned Jackson

Good main event. Both Sakai and Darling took extended turns being beat on by the heels.

– Mandy Leon def. Hania the Huntress in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Mandy won 1st and final falls.

Flat start after the main event, but the ladies built up as the match went on. Hendrix was out on commentary. Hanna won the first fall. Mandy won the 2nd and 3rd falls.

After the match, both women were respectful to each other. Hendrix came into the ring with a chair and said there was no place in the industry for friends. Appears to be setting up a program between her and Leon.

– Kelly Klein def. Candice LeRae via submission

This was LeRae’s WOH debut. Whitmer was incensed after the match that the ring announcer called Klein the victor from the floor and ordered her into the ring.

After having her repeat after him verbatim (and further dressing her down), the ring announcer slapped Whitmer. Klein tore into the ring announcer but Sakai ran in to make the save.

Main Card —

– War Machine defeated Ali and St. Giovanni

Surprising amount of offense from Giovanni and Ali.

– Jay White defeated Lio Rush

Rush got a great crowd reaction. White got the clean pin and put Lio over after the match. White told Rush that he wasn’t sure what all the hubbub was about him before tonight, but he understands now.

– The Cabinet (ANX w/Caprice Coleman) defeated Will Ferrara and Cheesburger

Kenny King was hilarious on the mic. He said Baltimore was full of redemption stories as we thought of a murderer, Ray Lewis, as our hero.

Also, when the crowd started to chant for Cheeseburger during his entrance, he turned to the crowd and said he could tell they love cheeseburgers.

– Bobby Fish defeated Kamatachi (with Christopher Daniels)

Kamaitachi used some heel tactics (and Daniels’ help) to gain the upper hand, but Fish was able to make him tap in the end.

– Joey Diesel defeated “Cauliflower” Chase Brown

Cauliflowers entrance music is so great and the Tiny ‘Tista chants aimed at Diesel are hilarious. As Cauliflower was laid out after the match, one of the ringside workers brought his cauliflower to him.

– Mark Briscoe def. Chris Sabin, Donovan Dijak and Kazarian in a four-way

Sabin suffered a severe cut during the match. ROH tweeted the somewhat graphic photo.

– Christoper Daniels defeated Moose

Daniels used the ropes to get a leverage pin. Good match. Kazarian helped Daniels win and helped beat down Moose until White and Alex Shelley came out to help Moose. Crowd chanted “Please don’t leave” and “Thank you Moose”. Moose tweeted farewell to ROH after the show.

– Silas Young defeated ACH in a falls count anywhere match

ACH gives a nice superplex onto a table, but Silas rolls into the ring on his feet at the count of ten for the win.

– Colt Cabana, ROH Champion Jay Lethal & Jay Briscoe defeated Bullet Club (Adam Cole/Adam Page/Nick Jackson) when Cabana pinned Jackson

Match actually felt a little rushed. Still, the faces were showcased and we had our share of superkicks to send the crowd home happy.

– ROH Tag Team Champions The Addiction beat Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser to retain in a great match.

– Fish Tank segment with Mark Briscoe and ACH led to a number one contenders match for the TV title. Briscoe then beat ACH.

– Jay White made his ROH debut and beat Kamaitachi (with Christopher Daniels) by DQ. Postmatch, the Addiction beat them down which brings out the Motor City Machine Guns.

– Jay White & Motor City Machine Guns beat ROH Tag Team Champions The Addiction & Kamaitachi

– Keith Lee & Shane Taylor beat an unknown tag team.

– Dalton Castle beat Roderick Strong in Strong’s farewell ROH match

Both guys hugged afterwards and there were “Thank you Roddy” and “You deserve it” chants post-match. Strong gives an emotional speech, thanking fans for their support and says he hopes to wrestle in ROH again someday.

– Kyle O’Reilly came out for his World Title match with Jay Lethal, but before Lethal can come out, Adam Cole hits the stage and says O’Reilly has skipped him in line and doesn’t deserve this match, and, in fact, he won’t be wrestling at all tonite. Young Bucks sneak attack O’Reilly from behind and the Bullet Club injures his arm and shoulder with a steel chair.

War Machine beat an unknown tag team.

Caprice Coleman and the All Night Express beat Cheeseburger & Will Ferrera & Moose

– ROH World Champion Jay Lethal beat the injured Kyle O’Reilly in a great match

Bullet Club attacks both post-match, leading Nigel to declare that Adam Cole will never get a title shot as long as he’s in charge. Lethal asks that he be added to the announced main event.

Moose beat Mike “P-Dog” Posey. Dijak came out to challenge Moose. Dijak beat Moose, then attacked Stokley Hathaway.

– ROH Champion Jay Lethal & Briscoes beat Bullet Club

After the match, the Bullets incapacitate Lethal in the ropes and Cole cuts off Lethal’s dreads, then violently shave his whole head. Bucks lead the crowd in “That was too sweet” and “You deserve it” (to Lethal) chants to end the show.

Fantastic show, crowd was really into almost all of it.

ROH Best In The World live results: Jay Lethal vs. Jay Briscoe; Addiction vs. MCMG

H returns to traditional PPV Friday night for Best In The World, the seventh such event in company history. The event emanates from Concord, NC, the first time BITW has been held there.

Send your feedback (thumbs up/thumbs down/thumbs in the middle) to [email protected]

Headlining the show is ROH World Champion Jay Lethal vs. Jay Briscoe, a rematch from last year’s BITW event where Lethal downed Briscoe for the belt in a winner takes all match.

KYLE O’REILLY VS. KAMAITACHI

O’Reilly won with a brainbuster and armbar.  Very good technically.  The crowd reacted but didn’t go wild.  Kamaitachi reufsed to shake hands and left.  The crowd isn’t mic’d well as you can see them reactingbut dont’ hear it that well.   Kamaitachi didn’t look as impressive as he usually does.  But his role was to put O’Reilly over as the whole thing they pushed was how O’Reilly gets a shot at the winner of the main event tomorrow.

SILAS YOUNG VS. ACH

Yeah, we’ve got the same problem with the bad crowd micing whicnh hurts the matches.  You can see people are into it and hear it lightly.  This was a good match.  ACH did a great springobard flip dive.  Young missed a springboard move, and ACH won with jumping double knees, a brainbuster and a 450 splash.

They just introudced Jay White at ringside.  He looks like a teenager in the crowd.

Mark Briscoe was hilarious on his pre-match interview.

MARK BRISCOE VS. RODERICK STRONG

With Strong leaving, Mark got the pin after a brainbuster and fisherman buster in a really good match.  Strong  was excellent here and Mark hung with him.   Mark has shaved his head but came out with a wig to surprise Strong.  Both worked at a hard pace, with Mark doing all kinds of cool stuff and Strong solid with everything he did.  Mark survived the sick kick and gutbuster.  Mark used a sick kick on Strong.  I think if the crowd was mic’d this would have come across as excellent.  Fans were chanting “Thank you Roddy” and he was shaking hands on the way out.

WAR MACHINE & MOOSE VS. YOUNG BUCKS & ADAM COLE IN A TORNADO MATCH

Excellent match.  Non stop action and the crowd was pretty hot.  Finish saw them use the Meltzer driver on Moose and all three kissed each other after winning.  We’ll update this later because it was a crazy match with all kinds of big spots and a ton of superkicks.  Once again it was hurt by the crowd micing.  Hanson in particular did crazy stuff for a guy his size.

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN VS. CHRIS SABIN & ALEX SHELLEY FOR THE TAG TITLES

Another good match.  Actually this at first had a hard time following the previous match.  Kamaitachi came out and attacked Jay White at ringside.  They were brawling and distracted ref Paul Turner and Daniels hit Shelley with a low blow and he was out of commission.  Daniels & Kazarian then pinned Sabin after the Best Meltzer ever.  You’d think at this point I was the booker and had an ego twice the size of Dusty Rhodes.  Daniels & Kazarian & Kamaitachi left together so they are forming a group.

STEVE CORINO VS. B.J. WHITMER IN AN UNSACNTIONED FIGHT WITHOUT HONOR

Corino came out to Shinya Hashimoto’s theme music.  Corino bleached his hair blond.  The commentators said this is a match that nobody wanted to see happen.  This match was crazy.  It came from another era as Whitmer went to hardway him.  Corino bled like crazy.  Whitmer juiced and it was a bloodbath.  The crowd loved it.  Whitmer put Corino through a table with an exploder suplex.  They beat each other with broken pieces of the table.  The lights went out and Kevin Sullivan showed up, teased hitting Whitmer with the spike but instead spiked Corino and Whitmer pinned him.  Because nobody does this kind of match, it really worked.  They saved things like tables, never do blood like this and used rolls of quarters but didn’t over do the foreign objects like in TNA where the shots meant nothing.

BOBBY FISH VS. DALTON CASTLE FOR THE TV TITLE

Another good match.  Castle dominated.  Castle suplexed Fish on his head and they teased Fish being hurt, but he then went for the bang a rang and Fish turned it into a front rolling cradle for the pin.

The All Night Express and Caprice Coleman came out.  They came out to Presidential music.  Coleman noted they were never defeated for the titles.  He claimed they had to pay for this segment.  Said each watched each others back and said all three are underrated and underpaid and now they are uniting and are now the group is called The Cabinet.  Coleman is the Minister of Information.  Rhett Titus said this whole show has been young punks flip flying around and nobody looks like pro wrestlers, said guys need to do bench presses and squats, how the tag champs have no abs and how the Young Bucks skip leg day and keep doing superkicks.  Said there is an Olympic gold medalist is selling T-shirts to make wrestling great again.  The Cabinet will will make wrestling great, won’t skip leg day and will win all the gold.

JAY LETHAL VS. JAY BRISCOE FOR THE ROH TITLE

Great match.  Shorter than you’d think but time got out of control.  The crowd loved it, chanting “That was awesome” after the finish.  Lethal retained with a diamond cutter and Lethal iinjection.  So right after the match ended, they turned up the crowd mic and you could hear how loud they were.  If they’d done that during the show every match would have come across better.  Both shook hands after the match.  Briscoe nearly go the pin earlier with the Lethal injection and Jay driller.  Lethal did two tope’s in a row and Briscoe came back with two of his own and a running flip dive.  A lot of near falls.  Crowd may have been hottest in this match.

ROH Milwaukee, WI, live results: Jay Lethal & Colt Cabana vs. The Young Bucks

Submitted by Andrew Vrchota

Sold out show.

Pre-show:

– Cheeseburger defeated Some Canadian Guy With A Fanny Pack. Cheeseburger was super over. The guy’s fanny pack was more over than the guy himself.

Main Show:

– Steve Corino promo on Whitmer, who was on commentary.

– ROH Tag Team Champions The Addiction defeated Kamaitachi and Juice Robinson via Best Meltzer Ever. Juice was super over.

– Dalton Castle defeated Will Ferrera via Deadlift German Suplex.

– Motor City Machine Guns defeated Lio Rush and Moose. This was a fun match. Rush is very impressive. MCMG put Lio over after the match by giving him the ring for the crowd to cheer him.

– Donovan Dijak defeat Trent Baretta. Prince Nana accompanied Dijak to the ring. Dijak is a decent heel.

– Four Corner Survival: Kyle O’Reilly defeated Roderick Strong, Michael Elgin and ACH via submission. This match ruled. Every sequence was jaw dropping. Elgin and Kyle had a great sequence of Germans and kicks. Roddy was great, per usual, as was ACH.

– BJ Whitmer promo. Two random dudes brought out a hog-tied Corino.

– War Machine destroyed two local talents.

– ROH TV Champion Bobby Fish defeated Rocky Romero via leg submission. Great match. Fish is awesome. Dalton Castle was on commentary for this match and they had a stare down after the match.

– Beer City Bruiser and Silas Young defeated The Briscoes and ANX in Tag Wars finals. BCB and Silas hit their finishers on ANX. Crowd celebrated like Milwaukee won the World Series.

– Colt Cabana and ROH Champion Jay Lethal defeated The Young Bucks via Double Lethal Injection. Crowd was super hot for this match. Bucks looked good after returning from injury. They hit an Indie Taker, but no Meltzer Driver. No disrespect to the Bucks, but they looked gassed and/or didn’t want to risk another injury. After the match, Colt had Lethal’s title and hinted he wanted a rematch. Lethal grabbed his belt and left.

ROH Columbus, OH, live results (Sun): Jay Lethal vs. Adam Page; new team debuts

Submitted by Andrew Hall

– Pre-Show: Veda Scott vs “Crazy” Mary Dodson

Veda wins with a back suplex while Mary is seated on top rope. Good enough match to warm up.

Kelly Klein and BJ Whitmer come out. Klein gives Mary a Michinoku-driver like move and BJ harasses the ring announcer to announce Klein as ‘the only woman that matters’ in Women of Honor.

Jay Briscoe comes out and tells the crowd the ROH officials are concerned about his health and he is not supposed to wrestle tonight. Roderick Strong comes out to tell him it is better that way and Jay should take the night off. Of course, Jay doesn’t accept that reasonable offer, so the main event is still on.

– Caprice Coleman vs ACH

Good match. Caprice yelled out ‘Buddy Landel!’ and proceeded to do a Landel-style elbow off the ropes. Maybe a dozen people in the audience got it. ACH won with the 360 splash.

– Stevie Richards vs Mark Briscoe

OK match. Mark with a DVD like move and then FroggyBo off the top for the pin.

– Beer City Bruiser (w/ Silas Young) vs Cheezburger

What you’d expect. BCB wins with his finisher. Silas mocks Cheeseburger and expresses his disgust for the crown and ACH and CB. Silas picks CB up over his shoulders, but ACH makes the save.

– ANX vs Motor City Machine Guns

Fun match. Good team spots. Heat on Alex Shelley. Finish breaks down and MCMG do a double team buster move on Rhett ( I think) for the pin. MCMG are pretty over.

– Adam Page vs. ROH Champion Jay Lethal

Big pop for Bullet Club, and a good pop for Lethal. Crowd somewhat favored Lethal during the match. Back and forth action. Lots of leg selling by Jay. Page ripped off his knee brace at one point. Big pop for a Young Bucks run in. Superkicks on Lethal, but he kicks out. Another attempt and Lethal ducks and Page gets it. Then Lethal diverts one Buck’s superkick into the other Buck. Follows with a Lethal Injection on both a Buck and Page at the same time. Good for the pin. Really good match.

– Intermission had BJ Whitmer babbling. Crowd wouldn’t let him talk at all. “We want wrestling” chant.

– Dalton Castle (w/The Boys) vs Kamaitachi

Solid match. Fun spots w/ Castle and the Boys. Crowd into it. Castle w/ a bridging suplex for the win.

– Lio Rush vs Adam Cole

The rest of the Bullet Club came out w/ Cole. He then sent them off saying he didn’t need them. Really good match. Near falls and hope spots had me believing Rush would win it, especially after he finally hit a frog splash. But Cole caught him with the knee brain buster for a pin. Afterwards, he shook Lio’s hand and called hm the future of ROH. Then he hugged Lio … but it was just a cover for a Superkick party. Bucks were out and nailed Rush and then all 3 did. MCMG ran them off. Best match on the card.

– War Machine vs. ROH Tag Champions The Addiction (Daniels/Kazarian) in a no DQ title match

Early part was just WM mauling The Addiction with hairs and trash cans. Then they got Hanson taped outside to the corner and Rowe taped inside by his legs to bottom rope. Lots of offense on Rowe, but couldn’t pin him since feet on ropes! Daniels cut him loose and they tried to pin. Rowe kicks out. Powers up and frees Hanson. More brawling. They hit finisher on Kazrian, but Daniels saved. Then War Machine decided to get the tables.

Before they can, two big guys (Shane Taylor and Keith Lee) run in and demolish WM with power bomb moves. The Addiction recover and give Hanson a double suplex with a belly landing on the table for the pin.

– Jay Briscoe vs Rodrick Strong

Lots of heat on Strong. Back and forth match. Ref bump and Jay got visual pin. Revived ref and hit the Jay Driller, but only got 2. A short exchange and Strong hit his suplex into front codebreaker like finish for a surprise victory. Solid match.

ROH Indianapolis, IN, live results: Jay Lethal vs. Briscoe, Bullet Club vs. MCMG

Submitted by Richard Sterling

Pre-Show

– Kelly Klein def. Jessica James

Decent showcase of Klein’s strength. James had a nice Black Widow on Klein. Klein wins via tapout choke. Post match, BJ Whitmer berates Scarlett to do a proper winner announcement. Issues open challenge for any woman to face Kelly.

Show Results

– Dalton Castle vs Stevie Richards turns into ANX vs. Dalton Castle & Stevie Richards

ANX (w) come out for a segment called what’s wrong with wrestling. Stevie was blasted for lengthy career and Dalton Castle, Human Trafficker. Castle changes the match to tag match vs the “fatbags”. (Lights keep going out in building during this segment). Kenny King delivers a chairshot to a spinning Richards and capitalized for the pinfall.

– Caprice Coleman def. Cheeseburger

Coleman comes out bearing gifts (protein powder, peanuts) to make Cheeseburger bigger. Caprice wins in a solid match by submission. Cheeseburger over with the crowd.

– Christopher Daniels def. Ray Rowe

Rowe surprisedly booed. Towards end, Kaz comes out followed by Hanson just enough to cause a distraction. Daniels hits BME for the 3 count. Daniels helps Kaz continue the beatdown on Hanson which turns into…

– Warbeard Hanson def. Kazarian

Kaz is over with the crowd and so is Hanson. Very good match. Hanson wins with swinging leg kick. Post match, Kaz comes out followed by Rowe. A brawl ensues and War Machine stands tall with the tag belts. War Machine leaves then Addiction stands up with their belts.

– Kamaitachi vs. Jason Kincaid vs Lio Rush vs Will Ferrara vs ACH vs Roderick Strong

Roddy clears the ring to start and stares at Rush. Match breaks down and Roddy does a sick spot outside the ring where he flings each opponent into the metal barricade. Then begins in the ring with Kamaitachi. ACH and Lio do some cool floppy counter stuff. Kincaid came in with a sick off the ropes bulldog/STO spot. Very fast paced, hard to keep up. Lot of Roddy dominance. Kincaid hits the sunset flip power bomb on Lio Rush to the guys on the floor. Kamaitachi then hits a spinning modification of air raid crash for the 3 on Kincaid in the ring. Great match.

Intermission

– BJ Whitmer tries to get on mic and is booed at every opportunity. He graces us with his presence in a practice match against a guy who may have been announced as Mark Sales, dressed in Corino trunks. Whitmer squashed him quickly.

– Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser vs Shane Taylor and Keith Lee

Taylor hits 2nd rope splash on Beer City Bruiser for the pin.

– Jay Briscoe vs. Moose w/ Stokely Hathaway

Both these guys chants to start. Stiff contest. Nice tope con Hilo by Moose. Briscoe hits a Death Valley Driver on the ring apron to Moose. Jay Driller to Moose for a near fall. Crowd goes nuts thinking it was 3. Moose powerbombs Jay through ringside timekeeper table. Jay gets back in the ring at the count of 19. Jay counters the powerbomb into another Jay Driller for the win. Match of the night!

– ROH Champion Jay Lethal (w/Taeler Hendrix) vs. Mark Briscoe

Back and forth match. Mark kicked out of the second diving forearm from Lethal. Jay hit a top rope elbow drop for a near fall, later locking on a figure four. Lethal blocked a Briscoe Elbow from top, kicks him in the face and dazes him, nailing Lethal Injection for the 3. Solid match.

– Bullet Club (Adam Page & Adam Cole) (w/Young Bucks) vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Match started out of the ring with barricade throws on MCMG. Bucks superkick Sabin before heading to the back. A lot of Too Sweet eye pokes by Cole. Page connects on the shooting star to the outside. MCMG hit tag team combination from the top rope to near fall because Todd Sinclair pulled out of ring. Upon getting back in the ring, MCMG superkicks him.

Bucks return and Superkick Sabin. Cole holds Shelley and Bucks inadvertently hit Cole with superkicks and get superkicked by MCM. Page gets back in the ring, MCMG hit their finish for the 3 count on Page.

After the match, the Addiction comes out to attack MCMG. MCMG clears them to the outside where the Bucks hit Addiction w/superkicks. Sabin gets on the mic and asks the crowd if they want to see Addiction as champs. Boos. They ask if the people want to see MCMG vs YB. They says if they win the YB will be first competitors.

Bucks gets on the mic and say that MCMG is their biggest rivalry. Shelley then puts over the ROH tag division and the fans. Shelley says MCMG + YB equal profits & 5 star classics. They call the Bucks back in the ring for handshakes. Surprisingly, no Superkicks and clean handshakes.
