Matt Cardona vs. Rhino added to GCW Most Notorious

Matt Cardona is returning to GCW after all.

After a storyline where Cardona said he would never return to the promotion, Cardona engaged in a social media exchange with Joey Janela playing off a WrestleMania VIII angle, with Chelsea Green in the role of Miss Elizabeth, Janela in the role of Ric Flair, and Cardona in the role of Randy Savage. Cardona agreed to return to the company to face Janela. Instead, the company announced Cardona vs. Rhino for their Friday, January 14 Most Notorious event.

Most Notorious will be held in Detroit, Michigan at the Harpos Concert Theatre. The show will air on FITE TV beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern time. Here is the announced lineup:

  • Matt Cardona vs. Rhino
  • Alex Shelley vs. Jimmy Jacobs
  • Leon Ruff vs. Rich Swann
  • Allie Katch & Effy vs. 2 Cold Scorpio & Ricky Morton
  • Atticus Cogar vs. Matthew Justice
  • GCW Ultraviolent Championship match: Alex Colon (c) vs. Hoodfoot
  • Sabu appears
  • Kevin Nash appears

Kevin Nash set for January’s GCW Most Notorious in Detroit

Former WWE and WCW star Kevin Nash will make his GCW debut at Most Notorious on Friday, January 14th.

The FITE.tv pay-per-view will be held at Harpo’s in Detroit, Michigan — Nash’s hometown. He isn’t expected to wrestle on the card as his last match was for Big Time Wrestling in 2018.

Nash isn’t the only legend on the card as the event will feature two other Detroit natives in Sabu and Rhino in addition to Ricky Morton of the Rock n’ Roll Express. It’s unknown who of that group will be wrestling. Grand Rapids, Michigan, native Jimmy Jacobs and Detroit native Alex Shelley have also been announced for the show.

The show is part of an already busy schedule for GCW as the booming indie promotion is running January 1st in Atlantic City, New Jersey; Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on January 15th; the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony in New York on January 22nd; The Wrld on GCW in a sold-out Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on January 23rd; and January 31st in Atlantic City.

GCW announces Sabu, Ricky Morton for Most Notorious

ECW legend Sabu and Rock ‘n’ Roll Express icon Ricky Morton have been added to the talent lineup for GCW’s Most Notorious event in January. They will join Rhino on the show, whose appearance was announced yesterday.

The company announced that Sabu would be honored at the event in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan on Friday, January 14, 2022. It is unclear if Sabu will be wrestling at the show. Likewise, it was not announced if Morton will be in action on the event.

Morton was also announced for the January 15 GCW Say You Will event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He joins PCO as the first two talent announcements for that show.

Tickets for January 14 and January 15’s events went on sale today.

GCW’s January schedule includes shows on January 1 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Detroit and Hoffman Estates shows on January 14 and January 15, The Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony in New York on January 22, plus The Wrld on GCW in a sold out Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on January 23.
