EVOLVE 117 results: Triple threat title match, Ohno vs. Allin

– Harlem Bravado defeated Joe Bailey with Angel’s Wings.

– It was announced that EVOLVE will return to New York with a show in Brooklyn on January 18 and a show in Queens on January 19. Johnny Gargano will return for one weekend only.

– BSHP KNG defeated Joe Gacy with a Swanton Bomb.

– Josh Briggs defeated Leon Ruff (w/ AR Fox, Ayla Fox, and The Skulk) with two consecutive chokeslam/Lumbar Check combinations.

– AR Fox (w/ Ayla Fox and The Skulk) defeated Curt Stallion with the Foxcatcher.

– Kassius Ohno defeated Darby Allin with a discus forearm to the back of the neck/head area.

– EVOLVE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. WWN Champion JD Drake & Anthony Henry ended in a no contest

Eddie Kingston interfered and attacked both teams for the finish. Ford then called out Kingston and challenged him to a match on January 19.

– Austin Theory defeated Fabian Aichner and Roderick Strong in a triple threat match to win the EVOLVE Championship

Theory pinned Aichner (who was the champion coming into the match) after hitting Ataxia.

Theory grabbed a mic after the match, fired Priscilla Kelly as his manager, and declared that EVOLVE is Theory. Darby Allin walked out and brawled with Theory until Theory ran to the back.

Roderick Strong added to EVOLVE 117 and 118

Another NXT wrestler has been added to EVOLVE’s December shows.

WWE.com announced today that Roderick Strong will be wrestling at EVOLVE 117 in Queens, New York on December 15 and EVOLVE 118 in Deer Park, New York on December 16. Fabian Aichner will defend his EVOLVE Championship against Strong and Austin Theory in a triple threat match at EVOLVE 117. Strong vs. Darby Allin is set for EVOLVE 118.

Aichner defending his title against AR Fox is scheduled for EVOLVE 118.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) will defend their EVOLVE Tag Team titles against WWN Champion JD Drake & Anthony Henry in Queens. If Drake is pinned, the stipulation is that the Street Profits member who pins him will win the WWN title. The Street Profits defending against Theory & Harlem Bravado is set for Deer Park.

Before Impact Wrestling pulled LAX (Santana & Ortiz) from the shows, The Street Profits were going to defend their titles against LAX and Fox & Leon Ruff in a triple threat match in Queens. The Street Profits & Allin vs. LAX & Theory had been scheduled for Deer Park.

LAX pulled from EVOLVE’s December shows

While Impact Tag Team Champions LAX (Santana & Ortiz) had been announced for EVOLVE’s December shows, they’re now off the events.

Gabe Sapolsky announced on Twitter this afternoon that Impact Wrestling has pulled LAX from EVOLVE 117 and EVOLVE 118: “Impact Wrestling has pulled LAX off the 12/15 & 16 dates. Working on replacements now. I was just informed. Our apologies to the fans.”

LAX had been scheduled to face NXT’s Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) in some form on both events. The Street Profits defending their EVOLVE Tag Team titles against LAX and AR Fox & Leon Ruff in a triple threat match had been announced for EVOLVE 117 in Queens, New York on December 15, and LAX & Austin Theory teaming against The Street Profits & Darby Allin in a six-man tag match was announced for EVOLVE 118 in Deer Park, New York on December 16.

Here are the matches that have been confirmed for EVOLVE 117 and EVOLVE 118 thus far:

LAX announced for EVOLVE’s December shows

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions LAX (Santana & Ortiz) are set to debut for EVOLVE Wrestling in December.

EVOLVE has announced LAX for EVOLVE 117 in Queens, New York on December 15 and EVOLVE 118 in Deer Park, New York on December 16. Their announcement teased that LAX are “on a collision course with EVOLVE Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, of Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins” and that match announcements for them will be made early next week.

As part of EVOLVE’s relationship with WWE/NXT, The Street Profits debuted for EVOLVE and won the promotion’s Tag Team titles from Chris Dickinson & Jaka on October 28. They also defended their titles on EVOLVE’s November shows.

Kassius Ohno will be wrestling at EVOLVE 117 and 118 and will be facing Darby Allin in Queens. EVOLVE Champion Fabian Aichner, who won the title from Shane Strickland on October 28, is set for the December shows as well.
