Konosuke Takeshita heading back to Japan for DDT Wrestle Peter Pan

Konosuke Takeshita is heading back to Japan.

Takeshita wrote on Twitter after his appearance on AEW Dark tonight that he is heading back to Japan ahead of DDT’s Wrestle Peter Pan event on August 20.

“I have to go back to Japan at the DDT big show on August 20,” Takeshita wrote. “I don’t have much time left in the US. I hope to come back to here soon and I hope you all feel the same way.”

Takeshita, who regularly wrestles for DDT, arrived for an excursion back in May, wrestling both for AEW and the independent wrestling scene. In AEW, he faced off against the likes of Hangman Page, Eddie Kingston, and most recently Jon Moxley.

On the independent scene, Takeshita wrestled against names such as Speedball Mike Bailey, Josh Alexander, Davey Richards, and Jonathan Gresham.

DDT’s Wrestle Peter Pan event, their annual big show of the year, will take place August 20 at the  Ota City General Gymnasium.

Kenny Omega announced for DDT Wrestle Peter Pan

Kenny Omega is returning to DDT later this year.

It was announced tonight during DDT’s Into The Fight event that Kenny Omega would be appearing at Wrestle Peter Pan, DDT’s biggest event of the year, on June 7 at the Saitama Super Arena. This would mark the first time Omega has appeared for the promotion since November 3, when he teamed with Riho to defeat Antonio Honda and Miyu Yamashita.

Omega has previously said in the past that his AEW contract allows him to work dates in Japan. Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley also are allowed to work Japan under their AEW contracts, as both work dates for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Hangman Page and Omega, are the current AEW Tag Team champions. They will defend their titles against the Young Bucks next Saturday at Revolution.

Top matches from tonight’s DDT card include Chris Brookes defeating Konosuke Takeshita for the DDT Universal title and champion Masato Tanaka defeating MAO to retain the KO-D Openweight title.
