First post-WWE appearance for New Day announced

It’s an original time period for the artists formerly known as the New Day. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston remain with the WWE Universe, but Austin Creed and Kofi are headed for a new galaxy.

GalaxyCon announced the pair would be available for photos and autographs at their Oklahoma City event later this month.

The New Day were among the talent announced as leaving WWE in a post-WrestleMania purge. Kofi specifically seemed to confirm reports that the pair were asked to take a pay cut, and opted to leave instead. “Do not ever compromise or accept less than your due when it comes to your worth,” he said at the time.

The full given name of the former Kofi Kingston is Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah, which is why he’s allowed to use the singular moniker. Austin Watson wrestled as Austin Creed and Consequences Creed before being called Xavier Woods by the WWE. (Not to be confused with American football player Xavier Woods, who is also currently unsigned.)

Watson also used the name Austin Creed in all of his UpUpDownDown-related enterprises. The future of that YouTube channel remains unclear; though it was founded by Watson, he reportedly sold it to WWE in 2021.

GalaxyCon takes place May 22 through May 24 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Creed and Kofi have only been announced for Saturday and Sunday. They will not be the only wrestling personalities there; Gangrel has been announced for all three days. Tickets for the event area available here; note that autographs and photos cost extra.

WWE’s Xavier Woods joins G4 as on-air talent

Xavier Woods is officially a G4 host.

The former cable television channel announced that Xavier Woods would be part of the network going forward. During G4’s Holiday Reunion special tonight on YouTube Live, a video was shown showing highlights of his YouTube gaming channel Up Up Down Down. WWE posted an article on their website highlighting the announcement.

G4, which at one point focused on video games, went off the air in 2014. However, it was announced earlier this year that the brand would relaunch in 2021, though under what format has not been confirmed. Woods had campaigned for a hosting spot since the announcement, with the hashtag #Creed4G4 trending at one point on Twitter.

The reunion special also launched the Gravython, a multi-day charity drive stream. Woods took part, playing the video game Among Us.

It was also recently announced that Woods, along with other New Day members Big E and Kofi Kingston, would be coming to Gears of War 5 as DLC characters. The trio appeared at Survivor Series on Sunday wearing costumes similar to the ones in the game.
