AEW reschedules Winnipeg Dynamite event

AEW has rescheduled one of the stops on the promotion’s upcoming tour of Canada.

AEW Dynamite was supposed to take place from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Wednesday, April 10. It was announced today that the event has been rescheduled. Dynamite will now be in Winnipeg on Wednesday, May 1.

In addition to the live Dynamite, the event will include a taping for that week’s episode of Rampage.

Tickets that have already been purchased will be honored on the new date. Fans who are unable to attend have until March 5 to request a refund.

AEW wrote:

The AEW Dynamite & Rampage previously scheduled for April 10, 2024 at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg has been rescheduled to May 1, 2024. Fans who have already purchased tickets will have their original tickets valid for admission to the event on May 1. Fans who cannot attend on the rescheduled date or who wish to seek a refund have until Tuesday, March 5 to request a refund from Ticketmaster or the original point of purchase. After March 5, all sales are final.

Chris Jericho, Don Callis, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page, Christian Cage, Orange Cassidy, Toni Storm, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Kris Statlander, Eddie Kingston, Swerve Strickland, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, The Acclaimed, and Will Ospreay are advertised for the show.

AEW’s announcement included a glimpse at a new logo for Dynamite. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast notes that the color of the new logo is a variant for AEW’s Canada shows.

AEW has eight events scheduled to take place in Canada from March through July.

A new location for the April 10 Dynamite has not been announced yet.

AEW Winnipeg debut rescheduled to March 15

AEW has pushed back its debut in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada by one day. 

The promotion was originally to run a special Tuesday edition of Dynamite from the Canada Life Center on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. However, AEW posted a statement on Monday announcing the show has been rescheduled to its usual day of the week on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. 

AEW’s statement reads:

Due to a revised network TV broadcast schedule, the double-header “AEW: Dynamite” and “AEW: Rampage” shows originally scheduled for March 14 at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Man. have been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 15.

This aligns with the regularly scheduled live broadcast of “AEW: Dynamite” on Wednesdays at 8-10 p.m. ET (7-9 p.m. CT).

Fans who have already purchased tickets will have their original tickets valid for admission to the event on March 15. Fans who cannot attend on the rescheduled date or who wish to seek a refund have until Sunday, Feb. 5 to request a refund from Ticketmaster or the original point of purchase. After Feb. 5, all sales are final.

AEW is making its Winnipeg debut with the highly anticipated live event on Wednesday, March 15. Tickets start at $35, plus fees, and are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.ca and AEWTIX.com. 

WWE runs the Canada Life Center when it comes to Winnipeg as well. The September 30, 2022 edition of SmackDown was held from the venue as was the February 24, 2020, edition of Raw when the building was known as Bell MTS Place.   

The show in Winnipeg will be just AEW’s second visit to Canada. The promotion ran back-to-back nights from Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum on October 12 and 13 last year. 

Winnipeg is the birthplace of numerous famous wrestlers including Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Don Callis, Steve Corino, Allison Danger, and Rosemary. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper was also raised in the city but was born in Saskatoon.
