Bryan Danielson vs. Wheeler Yuta, Undisputed Elite title celebration set for AEW Dynamite

AEW has announced a title celebration segment involving the Undisputed Elite and a match between Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta for Dynamite.

Adam Cole recently stole the AEW World Championship title belt from Hangman Page while reDRagon has done the same with the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Tony Khan announced Danielson vs. Yuta on Wednesday and also revealed that William Regal will be on commentary for it. The match will see a former ROH Pure Champion in Danielson facing the wrestler who will challenge Josh Woods for that title at Supercard of Honor on Friday. Danielson unified the ROH Pure and World Championships after defeating Nigel McGuinness in 2006.

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite will emanate from the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina.

The updated lineup for the show is as follows:

  • CM Punk vs. Max Caster
  • Jon Moxley vs. Jay Lethal
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Wheeler Yuta
  • Darby Allin (w/Sting) vs. Andrade El Idolo (w/Jose the Assistant)
  • FTR vs. The Gunn Club (w/Billy Gunn)
  • Women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament qualifying match: The Bunny vs. a new AEW signee
  • Undisputed Elite title celebration segment

AEW trademark filings may reveal name of upcoming console video game, rebranded faction

The name of both the upcoming AEW console video game and a rebranded faction may have been revealed as the company filed to trademark the terms “AEW: Fight Forever” and “Undisputed Elite” earlier this week.

The purposes of the “AEW: Fight Forever” trademark are listed as “Downloadable game software; Downloadable computer game software; Downloadable electronic game software; Downloadable interactive game software; Video game discs; Downloadable video game programs; Downloadable video game software; Recorded video game programs; Recorded video game software.”

There is currently no timetable for AEW’s debut console video game to be released. They are working with Yuke’s, a video game developer based in Osaka, Japan. The studio had been part of the WWE 2K franchise up until 2018. An article in Forbes last summer noted that AEW had put in an eight-figure investment into the game.

The purposes of the “Undisputed Elite” trademark are listed as “Fan clubs; Providing a website featuring entertainment information in the fields of sports and entertainment; Providing entertainment information in the fields of sports and entertainment via a website; Conducting entertainment exhibitions in the nature of wrestling exhibits and performances by professional wrestlers; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.”

Some are speculating that trademark could be related to the faction of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish — formerly known as The Undisputed Era in WWE NXT.
