AEW announces six-show Chicago residency

AEW is spending a couple of weeks in Chicago this summer.

The promotion announced today that it will have a six-show residency at Chicago’s Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom starting on July 16 and running through July 31. During the residency, AEW will present three episodes of Dynamite and three episodes of Collision:

  • Wednesday, July 16: Dynamite
  • Thursday, July 17: Collision taping
  • Wednesday, July 23: Dynamite
  • Saturday, July 26: Collision
  • Wednesday: July 30: Dynamite
  • Thursday: July 31: Special live Collision episode

Tickets are going on sale next Monday (May 19) at 10 a.m. Central time.

Tony Khan told the Chicago Sun Times that he believes Chicago is one of the best wrestling cities in the world and a perfect place to try a residency like this.

“I would never try this in a city where we didn’t have the most support; that’s why Chicago is a perfect place to try this,” Khan said. “It’ll be the first residency we’ve done in 2025, and I think it’s going to be something that we can really bring to Chicago.”

AEW also held a multi-show residency in Arlington, Texas in 2024 and will have a seven-show residency in Philadelphia this August-September.

The Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom has a listed capacity of roughly 5,000 before production configuration is factored in. The Chicago residency announcement was made in advance of the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois hosting the Beach Break editions of Dynamite and Collision this Wednesday.
