AEW Dynamite ratings identical to last week

Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 629,000 viewers on TBS, the exact same viewership number the show did last week. It ties the highest audience total Dynamite has done since April 9.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.16 rating. That’s also identical to last week’s number, and it ties the second-lowest rating the show has done in that category since March 5.

The show went head-to-head with the New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs as well as a Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers NHL playoff game. The NBA game averaged 3.162 million viewers and drew a 1.00 demo rating on TNT while the NHL did 743,000 viewers and a 0.24 rating on ESPN.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 11.5 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 33.3 percent. This year’s numbers do not include streaming data from Max, so it’s possible there were more people watching year-over-year.

AEW Dynamite viewership & 18-49 rating increase from previous week

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite averaged 629,000 viewers on TBS, up 20.7% from the previous week and the highest audience for the show since April 9th.

Dynamite averaged a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 14.3% from last week, but also ties the second lowest rating the show has done in that category since March 5th. The show finished fifth on the primetime cable charts on the night.

There was heavier than usual sports competition Wednesday with NHL playoff games on both ESPN and ESPN 2 running head-to-head with Dynamite as well as an NBA playoff game on TNT that topped all television with a 1.02 18-49 rating and 3.162 million viewers.

As compared to the same week in 2024, overall Dynamite viewership was down 10.5% while the 18-49 rating was down 33.3%. The audience decline is much lower than normal and that’s without including Max viewers with this year’s numbers.

Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode averaged 521,000 viewers on TBS, down 16.5 percent from last week. It’s the lowest viewership total for the show since October 8 of last year, a week where Dynamite was moved to Tuesday opposite WWE NXT.

This is the lowest amount of TV viewers for a Wednesday airing of Dynamite since June 19, 2024.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.14 rating. That’s down 17.7 percent from last week. It’s the lowest rating the show has done in that category since March 5 and is the second-lowest number Dynamite has ever done on a Wednesday night.

The episode aired live on the West Coast due to the NHL. It went head-to-head with both the NBA and NHL playoffs, as it will most weeks for the next couple of months.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 23.7 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 39.1 percent. This year’s numbers do not include people streaming the show on Max.

The episode featured a loaded card in celebration of Dynamite surpassing WCW Nitro as the longest-running prime time wrestling series in TBS/TNT history. It went head-to head with an NBA playoff play-in tournament game on ESPN that averaged 2.073 million viewers and topped the cable charts with a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 demo.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 34.6 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 18.1 percent. This year’s numbers do not include viewers streaming the show on Max.

For the week of 3/31 to 4/6, WWE SmackDown was the top rated entertainment show of the week on cable television, while AEW Dynamite was sixth place. If you would have included MAX numbers it would likely have been third behind SmackDown and White Lotus, and if you had included MAX number White Lotus would have been easily first and SmackDown would have been second.

Among all shows on cable during the week, SmackDown finished sixth, behind five NCAA women’s basketball game tournaments. The men’s tournament games were on network television this year.

AEW Dynamite ended up in 39th place, trailing UFC, Formula 1, an episode of SportsCenter, seven NBA related shows, one major league baseball game, one NHL game, 15 news shows and entertainment shows including a Food Network tournament of champions, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Curse of Oak Island.

Last year during the same week, Raw was the top rated entertainment show of the week on cable and Dynamite was fourth, while overall Raw was 11th, behind both men and women’s NCAA tournament games. Dynamite was 39th.

Last year this week SmackDown rated No. 3 among all shows on network television, beating everything but the women’s championship game and Survivor.

AEW Dynamite ratings up for Dynasty fallout episode

Wednesday night’s Dynasty fallout episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 659,000 viewers on TBS, up 10.9 percent from the previous week. It’s the second-largest audience total for the show since January 15.

Dynamite drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 6.3 percent from last week and ties the second-highest rating the show has done in that category since February 26. In its time slot, Dynamite ranked third behind an NBA game and Fox News programming.

The Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks NBA game topped the cable charts with a 0.73 rating in 18-49 and averaged 2.261 million viewers overall.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 19.5 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 43.3 percent. This year’s numbers do not include viewers streaming the show on Max.

Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode averaged 594,000 viewers on TBS, down 10.4 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since February 19.

Dynamite drew a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 5.9 percent from last week and ties the second-lowest rating the show has done since November 27 of last year.

Per Wrestlenomics, the show finished either fifth or sixth on the prime time cable charts, ranking behind competition from the NBA and Fox News. The early NBA game averaged 1.030 million viewers overall and drew a 0.28 rating in 18-49, while the late game did 1.069 million viewers and a 0.29.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 21 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 30.4 percent. The comparison does not factor in viewers streaming the show on Max.

Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode averaged 663,000 viewers on TBS, up 0.8 percent from last week. It’s the largest audience total for the show since January 15 and is the second-best number Dynamite has done since November 13 of last year.

Dynamite drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 10.5 percent from last week but ties the third-highest rating the show has done in that category since January 22.

The show went head-to-head with an NBA game on ESPN that topped the cable charts with a 0.43 rating in 18-49 and drew 1.451 million viewers overall.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 11.2 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 26.1 percent. That shows the audience is skewing a lot older on cable this year, but this year’s numbers do not include viewership on Max.

Wednesday night’s edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 658,000 viewers on TBS, up 4.8 percent from last week. It’s the highest audience total for the show since January 15 and is the second-highest number for Dynamite since November 13 of last year.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.19 rating. That’s up 18.8 percent from last week and matches the best rating the show has done in that category since November 20 of last year.

The increased numbers came despite going head-to-head with NCAA March Madness play-in games on TruTV, including a game that topped the cable charts with a 0.74 rating in 18-49 and more than 2.4 million viewers overall. The Dynamite numbers also do not include viewers streaming the show on Max.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 17.8 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 29.6 percent.

Dynamite went head-to-head with a Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA game on ESPN that topped the cable charts with a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demo, averaging 1.703 million viewers overall.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite was down 21.3 percent in overall viewership and 40.7 percent in the 18-49 demo.

Dynamite finished eighth on the prime time cable charts with a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s a drop of 27.8 percent from last week and is the lowest rating the show has done in that category on a Wednesday night in history. The only episode lower was October 8 of last year when it was moved to Tuesday night opposite WWE NXT.

It should be noted that the numbers for this episode do not include viewers watching on the Max simulcast. The show went head-to-head with an NBA game on ESPN that topped the cable charts with a 0.27 rating in 18-49 and 1.036 million viewers overall, in addition to airing against a college basketball game on ESPN2.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 23 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 51.9 percent. The large disparity between those two percentages is likely due to the Max simulcast audience skewing younger.

With the exception of the NBA and Fox News programming, Dynamite beat everything else on cable on the 18-49 rating charts, though the exact placement isn’t known at this time.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 27.3 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 37.9 percent.

Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision averaged 421,000 viewers on TNT, down 16.1% from last week when they had the benefit of the NBA All Star Skills competition as a lead-in. It was up 8.8% from two weeks ago in the normal time slot.

Collision averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 42.9% from last week, but up 20% from two weeks ago. It was the second highest rating in that category so far in 2025.

The show ranked 5th on night in the cable ratings according to Wrestlenomics.

As compared to the same week in 2024, the show was up 9.4% in overall viewers and 9.1% in 18-49. This does not include viewers simulcasting on the MAX streaming service.

Dynamite drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 6.3 percent from last week’s number but ties the third-lowest rating the show has done in that category since the November 27 episode, which was Thanksgiving Eve.

Neither the overall viewership nor 18-49 rating include viewers streaming the show on Max.

There was no major sports competition with both the NBA and NHL on a break from regular season games.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 32 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 41.4 percent.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 28.6 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 46.7 percent. The latter number is Dynamite’s worst decline for an episode where both years aired in the regular time slot since June 19, 2024.
