NXT’s Street Profits win EVOLVE Tag Team titles

Two wrestlers from NXT now hold the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) defeated Chris Dickinson & Jaka at EVOLVE 114 in Ybor City, Florida tonight to win the titles. Ford won with a frog splash, then The Street Profits cut a promo saying they are going to remain champions and naming the cities that are on EVOLVE’s schedule.

EVOLVE also officially announced that Dawkins & Ford will be appearing at all of their upcoming shows in 2018. Tonight’s Tag Team title match was set up in storyline when Dawkins & Ford answered Dickinson & Jaka’s open challenge.

NXT’s Fabian Aichner, Jessie Elaban, Adrian Jaoude (with Cezar Bononi), and Dan Matha have also made appearances at EVOLVE 114.

EVOLVE made a few announcements concerning their relationship with WWE last week. All matches with WWE/NXT wrestlers will now air live on their Club WWN streaming service, Mustafa Ali was announced for EVOLVE 115 and 116, and Kassius Ohno is set for EVOLVE 117 and 118.

Street Profits vs. Chris Dickinson & Jaka confirmed for EVOLVE 114

On what’s been a busy week of announcements concerning EVOLVE’s relationship with WWE, two NXT wrestlers have been confirmed for EVOLVE 114.

The Street Profits (NXT’s Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) will challenge for Chris Dickinson & Jaka’s EVOLVE Tag Team titles at EVOLVE 114 in Ybor City, Florida this Sunday. Dawkins & Ford answering Dickinson & Jaka’s open challenge had been teased on Twitter before the match was officially announced.

WWE.com is also teasing further NXT involvement in Sunday’s show: “Sources say the upcoming match has gotten the attention of the NXT locker room, meaning there’s no telling who else could attend this Sunday’s event.”

All matches with WWE/NXT wrestlers at EVOLVE shows will now air live on the Club WWN subscription service. Mustafa Ali vs. DJZ is set for EVOLVE 115 in Livonia, Michigan on November 9, Ali is facing Darby Allin at EVOLVE 116 in Oak Lawn, Illinois on November 10, and Kassius Ohno will be wrestling at EVOLVE 117 in Queens, New York on December 15 and EVOLVE 118 in Deer Park, New York on December 16.

WWE & EVOLVE notes: Mustafa Ali, Kassius Ohno, Street Profits

WWE and EVOLVE have made a couple of announcements concerning WWE wrestlers working upcoming EVOLVE shows.

As was announced earlier this month, Mustafa Ali will be wrestling at EVOLVE 115 in Livonia, Michigan on November 9 and EVOLVE 116 in Oak Lawn, Illinois on November 10. Ali’s opponents were revealed today, with him facing DJZ in Michigan and Darby Allin in Illinois.

Kassius Ohno is set to wrestle at EVOLVE 117 in Queens, New York on December 15 and EVOLVE 118 in Deer Park, New York on December 16. He’ll also be a guest trainer at a seminar that WWN is holding in Long Island on December 16.

EVOLVE Tag Team Champions Chris Dickinson & Jaka issuing an open challenge has been set up for EVOLVE 114 in Ybor City, Florida this Sunday. On Twitter, it’s being teased that The Street Profits (NXT’s Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) will be the team to face Dickinson & Jaka.

With the working relationship that exists between WWE and EVOLVE, Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream have worked dark match main events for EVOLVE this year. Cole defeated WALTER in June, and Velveteen Dream defeated Austin Theory and Allin last month.

Sullivan kept destroying Bronson with slams after the match.

Sullivan came back out when this was over and destroyed Murphy to a huge reaction.

NXT was in Lakeland tonight with an attendance of 200 people.

– Heavy Machinery defeated The Bollywood Boyz

The big boys threw around the Bollywood Boyz and did a belly squish to finish the match.

– Tino Sabbatelli (w/ Riddick Moss) defeated Adrian Jaoude

There was a lot of heel comedy by Moss at ringside along with Sabbatelli in the ring. Jaoude had the advantage most of the match before a distraction by Moss and a hold-up into an elbow drop by Sabbatelli for the finish.

– Buddy Murphy defeated Dan Matha

Murphy has new music and works as an underdog fiery babyface. Matha kept control most of the match, with a few flashy hope spots by Murphy. Murphy hit a great looking missile dropkick and was able to roll Matha up for the victory.

– Ember Moon & Aliyah defeated Kimber Lee & Mandy Rose

Moon hit a side slam (which she’s been using lately when not utilizing the Eclipse) on Kimber Lee for the win.

– Gran Metalik defeated Tony Nese

There was amazing stuff from both competitors in this match, with Metalik doing a tightrope walk splash and hitting the Metalik Driver for the win.

– Ruby Riot defeated Daria Berenato

Berenato kept control most of the match until Riot fired up and hit her up-kick finish.

– NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain defeated Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins

AOP kept the advantage early, then Dawkins took a hot tag and ran wild. He got cut off by the Authors and the champions double teamed him with the hold-up lariat for the win. The Authors tried to rough up Ford and Dawkins after the match, but the faces fought them off and danced to send us home happy.
