Wednesday night’s Spring BreakThru edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 624,000 viewers on TBS, down 5.3 percent from the previous week. It’s the second-lowest viewership total for the show since March 5.

The episode featured a loaded card in celebration of Dynamite surpassing WCW Nitro as the longest-running prime time wrestling series in TBS/TNT history. It went head-to head with an NBA playoff play-in tournament game on ESPN that averaged 2.073 million viewers and topped the cable charts with a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 demo.

If you would have included MAX numbers it would likely have been third behind SmackDown and White Lotus, and if you had included MAX number White Lotus would have been easily first and SmackDown would have been second.

Among all shows on cable during the week, SmackDown finished sixth, behind five NCAA women’s basketball game tournaments. The men’s tournament games were on network television this year.

AEW Dynamite ended up in 39th place, trailing UFC, Formula 1, an episode of SportsCenter, seven NBA related shows, one major league baseball game, one NHL game, 15 news shows and entertainment shows including a Food Network tournament of champions, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Curse of Oak Island.

Last year during the same week, Raw was the top rated entertainment show of the week on cable and Dynamite was fourth, while overall Raw was 11th, behind both men and women’s NCAA tournament games. Dynamite was 39th.

Last year this week SmackDown rated No. 3 among all shows on network television, beating everything but the women’s championship game and Survivor.

Wednesday night’s Dynasty fallout episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 659,000 viewers on TBS, up 10.9 percent from the previous week. It’s the second-largest audience total for the show since January 15.

Dynamite drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 6.3 percent from last week and ties the second-highest rating the show has done in that category since February 26. In its time slot, Dynamite ranked third behind an NBA game and Fox News programming.

The Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks NBA game topped the cable charts with a 0.73 rating in 18-49 and averaged 2.261 million viewers overall.
